  1. Wait, are you saying that teams regularly stacked 8 in the box to prevent the Bills' from running the ball last year? I'm not aware of any stats that would support that and if defenses did stack the box more than usual against the Bills, then the strategy clearly did not work.

it worked just fine, sure our running game was #1, did it equate to wins? nice to be great running team when u have a lead, didnt happen often last year. when youre down points late in the game and have to throw, are u counting on Tyrod to bring home that win? when defenses shut down our running game last season, and they did quite a bit, regardless of the numbers, we were screwed. anybody that watched the games could see it. balance is needed.

and no, defenses didnt stack the box all the time, they didnt need to. but when they did, bye bye running game.

but this all comes back to our poor defense, if only they had turned the ball over more, or scored more, or etc etc. our d didnt make Tyrod fail in the passing game at key moments every game.

  2. The offense finished 12th and tenth in scoring the last two seasons. The Bills had the fewest pass attempts in 2016. TT plays a big role in why the running game works so well. And he doesn't turn the ball over.

6 ints is a nice number if your throwing for over 4k yrds and high 20s in tds. 43 sacks taken didnt help either. sure hes careful with the ball. thats nice. u know what opposing defenses thought last year? load the box, try to stop McCoy hope Tyrod doesnt connect on a long fly route or break the pocket. play 1st and 2nd down like that, keep the Bills in 3rd and long, win. u cant honestly tell me that the lack of a passing game doesnt hurt the offense. and remember, alot of his passing stats came in garbage time. lotta garbage time last season.

  3. Only with a select few is having a terrible WR corp for too many games, a defense that couldn't stop the better teams nor get the ball back most of the time for an offense that didn't turn the ball over, and the Ryan brothers poor game day coaching, is that considered excuses. TT needs to improve his middle of the field play, but to say he needs to improve in just about every area is nonsense. With this "terrible" QB the last two seasons, the Bills offense has put up a lot of points. And he is a big reason for that, even though you will claim he isn't.

17 tds, 6 ints, 6 rushing tds. 3k yrds. pedestrian numbers. 22nd ranked QB in power ratings. u claim this high scoring Bills offense, your QB is sub 20 passing tds......cmon. 23 tds responsible for isnt a playoff QB. little over 1 per game isnt winning anything. and u cant argue that he helps McCoys numbers in the running game when defenses stack 8 in the box knowing that your QB isnt a passing threat....

Tyrod having to complete passes over 5yrds on 3rd down last season absolutely killed this offense. meanwhile a defense that admittedly was subpar couldnt ever get off the field, and when they finally did, got put right back on. Did u watch all the games where Tyrod failed repeatedly on 3rd down? was mbe 1 where he didnt.

  4.

?? They were #1 last year in points allowed.....Their first 3 SBs ( 2001, 2003 and 2004 ) were in a large part due to their defense...Belichick is first and foremost a great defensive mind.....how's that " not impressive " ?

not impressive at all, youre bringing up teams from 10+years ago, last year they may have been #1 in points allowed but they were mediocre in everything else. you could move the ball on them. and yes, Belichick is a hall of fame defensive minded coach. They won the Super Bowl last year, but boy was the defense in that game terrible. none of his teams have been known for their secondary. relevant considering we're discussing Gillmore.

lets not forget, Patsies had the easiest schedule by far last year.

  5.

There were three main problems last year. Offense, defense and special teams.

Yeah, the defense was the worst. But we didn't have one really strong unit. We had a strong part of a unit, the offensive run game. But nobody was intimidated by our offense overall, or any other unit.

^this, sums up Bills 2016 season.

    running game A

    passing game C-

    defense D

    special teams D

    coaching D

    playoff chances F

  6. There is nothing to be gained from dismantling your team. Ask Cleveland how their never-ending rebuild is going.

wasnt aware that Cleveland had sold off all their good players in the effort to land the top rated QB prospect every year. i dont remember them taking any top QBs over the span of their recent ineptitude. you are correct however in their never ending rebuild.

they still lack any consistency at the most important position, same one the Jets are tanking for, same one half of Bills fans are unsure about, QB.

  7. am i missing something? was Gilmore a game changer? he was ok, but my feeling about him was, make a play, blow a play, make a play, blow a play. not worth what the Pats paid for him. sure he'll probably be above average for them, they have an offense that can support a defense. they have a hall of fame coach/QB. Pats defense has never really been all that impressive imo. Seems to be huge turnover in their secondary every year. Willing to bet that the Pats get exactly what we've seen all these years with Gillmore, meh, hes ok.

  8. Come on, seriously, what do you expect him to say? It IS the most talented backfield he's ever been in. I don't get why people get bent out of shape over stuff like this. Kid has a short career and he went from the outhouse to the penthouse, of course he's excited.

they get bent outta shape cuz hes a Patriot now. Its just that simple.

  9. air-raid offenses scare me, QBs (Falk/Washington St) from those systems rarely pan out in the NFL.

I havent looked at the possible QBs for the next draft yet, but i would like to see the Bills find a guy who can read defenses, the whole field, and throw with anticipation. Dont care about arm strength (anything above a noodle for an arm is fine). Guy has to be intelligent enough to understand all the variables on the field. Even a mediocre passing threat will create offensive balance. One trick ponies at the QB spot let defenses off easy. You have to run and throw to win in this league.

  10. Tyrod has significant holes in his game. end of story. no skewed stats will convince me that he can read the whole field, throw recievers open, or read defenses correctly. Hes a work in progress, hes not terrible, hes not a playoff QB either. Hes a running QB with little experience as a pocket QB. Can he take the next step? we shall see. Hes overpayed by a team desperate for anything that doesnt look like the next terrible Bills QB. Go Bills!

  11. lol.......JM2009, get ready Bills fans, this thread is what u can expect all season when he posts. Now, on topic, meh, camp injury. Dareus needs to prove something this year, this hammy tweak isnt too much to worry about at this point. It rolls into the season then we can all spew out our frustration with him. Till then, yawn.

  12. You get all bent out of shape on anyone who even remotely criticizes Tyrod whether the criticism is deserved or not, yet you have no issues criticizing a brand new front office staff for stuff that may not even be their fault?

Do you not see the irony in that?

wait till the season starts, when tyrod is missing open recievers, still cant read 2/3 of the field, and people start calling him out, JM2009 will be starting forum fights all over the place. He has a history of it. Pretty much all he did on the other forum.
