NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
bigduke6 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
greed gonna greed. now the super millionaires and billionaires of the NFL arent stupid, they didnt become that rich by being lazy and dumb, so theres a good chance that this possible deal wont go south. stranger things have happened to greedy people though. more becomes an addiction, that can at times lead to disaster. -
“Jets are in complete disarray” - B/R Article
bigduke6 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
last QB i can remember coming back from an achilles was Marino, and he was never the same. happened late in his career as well. now apparently we've advanced on the football injury front over the decades, but this still is a show me first type scenario with Rodgers. moving around in practice where you cant actually be touched is not the same as game speed. ive seen a few vids of Rodgers this past training camp and he doesnt look all that smooth doing the normal QB dropback turnaround hand off or throw type things. Jests have a very very good D, but if Rodgers cant hack it, its back to 7 wins for them, Saleh gets fired, and Rodgers probably finally f's off to do his weird off season im smarter than everybody, pay attention to me sh*t fulltime, and hopefully fades away into obscurity. Jests have questions in a few key spots. DLine may not be the everydown monster they were in previous seasons. they lost some depth there. OLine, protecting that 40 year old world traveler/achilles survivor and fully inoculated alt hero is still not proven and full of guys who get injured all the time themselves. should be fun. -
NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
bigduke6 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
nothing good ever happens for the consumer when Private Equity gets involved, nothing. i dont care about the parameters of this potential deal. PE is all about the return on investment at the expense of everything else. might not seem like much right now, but its a very slippery slope and greed gonna greed. seen it too many times, in too many industries. if PE doesnt wreck the NFL, it will be the first time they havent destroyed an entity that they've sunk their fangs into. -
happen to notice Jones is no longer with the team? asking for a friend.

wasnt really anything throwing to him either. so theres that.

New Renderings of New Stadium Clubs
bigduke6 replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
ya if yer gonna overpay for tickets, might as well be warm. agreed. -
as soon as i saw this seasons schedule i tempered my expectations immensely. its yet another must win every week year, and thats asking too much in the modern NFL. i have serious doubts that we even win the division this year. hoping for a Wildcard is about as positive i can get, especially with all the injuries and the turnover. then its probably one and done, playing on somebody elses homefield in the conference where being a top 5 team guarantees nothing cuz, Chefs, Burrows, Lamar/Ravens D. we finally get rid of Brady and the Pats, and now the road seems just as difficult cuz all the talent is in the AFC. sucks.

New Renderings of New Stadium Clubs

im extremely satisfied that my tax money is helping build this taj mahal of a small market stadium so fans like me can be priced out of buying pleb seating tickets. what a fantastic deal. JA17 wont play forever, and when we get stuck in the next 20 year cycle of trash QBs that lead this team to irrelevancy, these fancy club seats gonna look real empty. hey, thats capitalism though. get others to pay for it so you can make the $$$$. go team. -
It's crap like this ^ that makes people lol.
-
ok, i only saw the wiff by Dorian in the open field. glad he played better than that.
-
good, let him be the run tackler and let Bernard run around in coverage. not sure Dorian is ready yet.

lol Phins are going to be in cap hell in a few years. should be fun. wheres the money to fix their defense? -
lol another popularity contest. Lamar is a good dood, probably why hes up over Kermit. people are probably sick of Mahomes. Hill at 1 is just plain dumb.

Tre White is doing "great" in Camp
bigduke6 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
very happy for Tre. if hes even close to his best, thats a huge win for him. wish he was still here on a team friendly deal. wish him all the best. -

-
good for Nate. still getting paid to do what he loves. hes been through a lot, and hes doing better than 95% of the world.

Von Miller Saying He Probably Shouldn't Have Played Last Year
bigduke6 replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall
just play well, keep your mouth shut, dont do anything dumb off field, people will jump back on the Von wagon quick like. fans have a short memory if you produce and arent annoying. show us, dont tell us. -
Bills 2024 Training Camp! (related content only please)
bigduke6 replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
ya, thats not Hyde. 😀 -
when i was younger and less jaded, games were an event. friends, family, tailgating, the game, the whole experience. weather never affected me, i sat in the upper tier, in the wind for the '94 Bills Raiders Championship game. temps were near zero with wind chill reaching 32 degrees below zero. now? i dont want to be around all these people. i dont want to fight traffic. its just not worth the effort. ill sit on the couch at home, comfy, not being annoyed by drunk guy #3 next to me.

takes time to comeback from injuries like Vons. especially at his age. hope hes the old Von this coming season. its good that hes confident, ready to go, show me, dont tell me.
