The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Buffalo Bills Fan replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
U.K might be first European country going after China. After the Conservative MPs in UK directed their ire towards China for downplaying the threat of coronavirus, a London-based Conservative think tank has explored possibilities of legally suing China on 10 possible grounds. The Henry Jackson Society has compiled in its 'Coronavirus Compensation?' report that "China should be sued under international law for trillions of dollars for its initial cover-up of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused more than 60,000 deaths and trillions of dollars in economic damage," London bureau of The Sunday Morning Herald reported. The report by the think-tank said that damages caused by China amount to at least the £3.2 ($6.5 trillion), which is being spent by G7 nations. It should prop up their domestic economies because the governments forced their citizens to stay at home in order to contain the virus’ spread. The report emphasised that China owes it to the Australians too, the amount of the compensation that came from Prime Minister Scott Morrison's unprecedented $130 billion in government support for workers and businesses. UK's observations and reports are in contrast to what China thinks. Senior Chinese figures, including China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian, have "endorsed speculative and groundless claims that the virus was imported to Wuhan by the United States military, instead of emerging at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, where wild, live animals were traded", said the Sunday Morning Herald report. The report says that China could be sued under 10 possible legal avenues, including the International Health Regulations. These regulations became more stringent after the SARS outbreak. China also tried to cover up that outbreak. https://www.news18.com/news/world/uk-think-tank-seeks-global-solidarity-to-sue-china-for-6-5-trillion-for-covering-up-coronavirus-2565637.html -

Not sure agree on that part. I think the vaccine possibly might make things worse. . I mean agreeing with a different thing you said. Lockdown helping some countries a bit. But I understand why other countries not locking down. I understand and I'm concerned as well. It's a complex virus. But looking at results and prepared like Trump fighting this andhelping people. What trying to see from president trump and other places. -

I think President Trump doing a good job. But the covid-19 comes from a family of coronavirus. Like sars before, mers, and all type of different family's to it. Different family's affects animals and to only animals. Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold (which has other possible causes, predominantly rhinoviruses), while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19. Symptoms in other species vary: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease, while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea. There are yet to be vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections. Coronaviruses constitute the subfamily Orthocoronavirinae, in the family Coronaviridae, order Nidovirales, and realm Riboviria.[5][6] They are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome and a nucleocapsid of helical symmetry. The genome size of coronaviruses ranges from approximately 27 to 34 kilobases, the largest among known RNA viruses.[7] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronavirus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronaviridae Taxonomy[edit] The family Coronaviridae is organized in 2 sub-families, 5 genera, 23 sub-genera and about 40 species:[2] Coronaviridae Orthocoronavirinae[3] Letovirinae Alphaletovirus Milecovirus Microhyla letovirus 1 illustration of coronavirus virion Coronavirus[edit] Main article: Coronavirus Illustration of a coronavirus Coronavirus is the common name for Coronaviridae and Orthocoronavirinae, also called Coronavirinae.[4][5] Coronaviruses cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, the viruses cause respiratory infections, including the common cold, which are typically mild, though rarer forms such as SARS (including the one causing COVID-19) and MERS can be lethal. Symptoms vary in other species: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory disease, while in cows and pigs coronaviruses cause diarrhea. There are no vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections. They are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome and a nucleocapsid of helical symmetry. The genome size of coronaviruses ranges from approximately 26 to 32 kilobases, among the largest for an RNA virus (only second to a 41-kb nidovirus recently discovered in planaria).[6][7] The name "coronavirus" is derived from the Ancient Greek 'κορώνη' (korone), meaning crown or halo, which refers to the characteristic appearance of the virus particles (virions): they have a fringe reminiscent of a crown or of a solar corona. Right on man thanks. Was worried about the ECMO. 60 to 70 perfect survive without like 20-25 percent. Thank goodness for that. Didn't like the numbers for chance. But she's tough going thru at 5. Can not imagine to go thru that. Really enjoying Donald Trump press conference. -

Me too DR. On all 3. Like the picture on all together. That's great man! Some good news on my niece. On my sister facebook. Posted. Today was a good visit, got to talk to and hold her hand. Her heart is now syncing between the atria and ventricular parts of the heart. She was also moved to a regular ventilator as her body is slowly starting to take back control. -

Ya my sister updated on facebook. A heart condition called myocarditis. We don;t know how she got this or why might not ever find out. Everyone tested negative for covid-19. Could be a bad test. In a coma but getting better each day. On a Ecmo machine. Really don't understand this. Reseached lyme, swine flu everything. See mers as well has myocarditis. Heard covid can get to heart. But not sure. Her symptoms started friday and got way worse Saturday. Don't understand how short of time young and healthy for her and this one. Might not ever know. If not covid-19 just worried doctors might have covid on them. For a weak person doesn't take much. I would think they are well cleaned. As well as asymptomatic if she heals cannot be around anyone. (hopefully goes away by then) Viruses causing myocarditis Coxsackie (A, B) Adenovirus Influenza (A, B) Herpes simplex Cytomegalovirus Varicella-zoster virus Epstein-Barr virus Mumps Rubella Rubeola Vaccinia Rabies Coronavirus Hepatitis B HIV -

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/who-director-faces-growing-calls-to-resign-over-handling-of-coronavirus-china Amid persistent criticism that his organization failed to properly oversee China's coronavirus response and worked to downplay the communist nation's responsibility for the pandemic, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is facing growing calls for his resignation from American politicians and others around the world. Calls have been led by Sen. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., who last week on Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria" told host Maria Bartiromo that she has "never trusted a communist" and that the Chinese government's "cover-up of this virus that originated with them has caused unnecessary deaths around America and around the world... I think Dr. Tedros needs to step down." She continued on Friday, placing part of the blame for China's lack of transparency on the WHO director-general. CORONAVIRUS: WHAT TO KNOW 3,297 people are talking about this MARTHA MCSALLY SAYS WHO BOSS SHOULD RESIGN OVER CHINA CORONAVIRUS 'COVER-UP' "Dr. Tedros deceived the world," she said. "At one point, he even praised China's 'transparency during its coronavirus response efforts' despite a mountain of evidence showing the regime concealed the severity of the outbreak. This deception cost lives. " Tedros' woes have been caused in large part by his regular backing of China during the coronavirus outbreak. In early February, days after President Trump put in place a travel ban for foreign nationals who had recently been to China, Tedros panned coronavirus responses that "unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade," according to Reuters. -

Right Doc. Trump did a amazing thing closing borders down. Dems wouldn't do that. There talking and acting tough can do better than Trump. But if they were in power nothing will be done. Ya i'm a Independent. Obama and Bush made me hate them badly. Was like this for Trump but people here helped me with how well he has done for USA. He is doing really well imo. Like how he is doing things. Some things I questioned. But has done well. Look at the truths, facts over hate for a person. Gr none of my family not keep me update so I know nothing on niece. I care but wish people keep me updated. Might take sometime to know.. Cannot wait this virus to go away. -

https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/myth-busters Exposing yourself to the sun or to temperatures higher than 25C degrees DOES NOT prevent the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) You can catch COVID-19, no matter how sunny or hot the weather is. Countries with hot weather have reported cases of COVID-19. To protect yourself, make sure you clean your hands frequently and thoroughly and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. You can recover from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Catching the new coronavirus DOES NOT mean you will have it for life. Most of the people who catch COVID-19 can recover and eliminate the virus from their bodies. If you catch the disease, make sure you treat your symptoms. If you have cough, fever, and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early – but call your health facility by telephone first. Most patients recover thanks to supportive care. Being able to hold your breath for 10 seconds or more without coughing or feeling discomfort DOES NOT mean you are free from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or any other lung disease. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are dry cough, tiredness and fever. Some people may develop more severe forms of the disease, such as pneumonia. The best way to confirm if you have the virus producing COVID-19 disease is with a laboratory test. You cannot confirm it with this breathing exercise, which can even be dangerous. Drinking alcohol does not protect you against COVID-19 and can be dangerous Frequent or excessive alcohol consumption can increase your risk of health problems. COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in areas with hot and humid climates From the evidence so far, the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in ALL AREAS, including areas with hot and humid weather. Regardless of climate, adopt protective measures if you live in, or travel to an area reporting COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is by frequently cleaning your hands. By doing this you eliminate viruses that may be on your hands and avoid infection that could occur by then touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. Download and share graphic Cold weather and snow CANNOT kill the new coronavirus. There is no reason to believe that cold weather can kill the new coronavirus or other diseases. The normal human body temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37°C, regardless of the external temperature or weather. The most effective way to protect yourself against the new coronavirus is by frequently cleaning your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or washing them with soap and water. Not sure if I can trust the WHO after some sketchy things they did. All thru out this coronavirus. -

https://www.foxnews.com/world/boris-johnson-hospitalized-after-experiencing-coronavirus-symptoms-pms-office-says British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was admitted to a hospital after suffering from coronavirus symptoms 10 days after testing positive, his office announced Sunday. Downing Street officials said the hospitalization was a “precautionary step” and he remained in charge of the government. A spokesperson said: “On the advice of his doctor, the prime minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests. This is a precautionary step, as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the virus. The prime minister thanks [National Health Service] staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.” Johnson had been showing persistent symptoms including a high temperature, Sky News reported. -
