Does this take into account the 30 beers everyone drinks in the parking lot? Prolly not. I can't imagine what the numbers would be if they added that into the averages.

From what I could tell, the 3.3 beers is mostly about when watching the team on TV.  Pre-gaming in the parking lot at the game itself is often about not having to pay ridiculous beer prices during the game.  I know it is for me.

I keep seeing pundits say that the Bills are the only team in the division that didn't improve or add anything.

Huh?  On the offensive side of the ball, EVERYTHING was upgraded. We are going to have a much more solid line, a potent running attack, and the bottom half of our receiving group are all upgrades - guys who have a resume of better hands & YAC ability.  Kincaid & Knox together brings a whole new set of possibilities, and match-up problems for opposing DC's to figure out.

It's exciting.  It has the potential to be the best offense in Bills history - which probably sounds like hyperbole in light of the '90s teams, but it's on the table.

Yeah it's bothered me that they focus only on the things that stayed the same and ignore the improvements.

Sure the starting tackles weren't upgraded (a regular focus of the "they didn't improve" crowd) but the new guards alone should be worth another point per game.  Marginal upgrades at RB and WR combine for another point per game.  Kinkaid paired with Knox could damn well be worth another TD per game but to be conservatively realistic I'll say another point per game.  Imagine us with an extra field goal on average per game.

Of course the counter argument is if our defense is weaker that means less time for the offense to be on the field, but I'm not seeing it.  We "lost" Edmunds, that's it.  I was a fan of his but admit he was overrated by many and had serious flaws he never seemed to work out.  Whomever wins the job or plugging in the new guy from Houston shouldn't be a big drop off.  The age of Hyde/Poyer/Milano isn't an issue until proven otherwise.  They just had bad luck with fluke injuries last year.  Our CBs should be even better this year with a 100% White no longer recovering from his injury, and more experience from Jackson/Elam/Benford.  D-line should be about the same, possibly better if Floyd shows out.

    *edit*

Oh and I should add that statistically we were the hardest hit team by injuries in the entire AFC last year, with injuries to about 312% of our defensive starters and half the offense.  Absolutely ludicrous that we're being picked to drop off so far and even miss the playoffs.  We'll be better than ever and show everyone up like the Chiefs did last year being doubted after losing Hill.

This team was 7-6 in 2021 playing trash QBs and teams.

    10-7, 9-8, 11-6, 12-5 don’t really care.

Just get in.  Get hot and healthy at the right time.

The best and healthiest team in the worst conference I’ve seen in decades beat Daniel Jones and then the 49ers 4th QB and got to the SB.

The Chiefs also got healthy and played a young Jags team then a team that decided to talk trash about them.  Things broke right for those teams.

Super Bowls aren’t won in September.  We need things to break our way in December and January.   It’s going to be a grind.

7-6 in 2021 was a massive fluke filled with screwjobs and things beyond our control.  Of those 6 losses only 2 were legitimate straight up losses in the somewhat flukey week 1 against Steelers and the beating from Indy.  The other 4 were...

    - Titans aided by multiple uncalled blatant holds on Henry's long TD run, and Josh's foot slipping on crap turf.

    - Loss to Jags which I consider the worst officiated game that nobody talks about, because it wasn't a high profile game.

    - Windstorm game against Patriots completely nerfing our passing offense vs the more run focused Pats.

    - Buccs DBs getting away with committing war crimes against Diggs in a game that had no business making it to OT.

And those all came after a 4 game stretch where we went 156-41 point differential with 2 shutouts and a dominant road win in KC.

Well. Statistics show your mote likely to get injured being sacked in the pocket than scrambling out of it. Just sayin.

And you think weakening his blind side won't lead to more hits in the pocket?  Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't needlessly scramble on EVERY snap.

I'm stuck with a Bears feed with the announcers too busy fellating Bears wangs to call the game straight.  I get home announcers ate generally pro-home team, but I can't stand this kind of complete lack of objectivity.

It was no worse than what Benford did against Moore. Good coverage but Davis got his hands on it... I know he can make catches when he's open but can he make them with people around him? It's a big concern.

Ball literally hit the defender right in the hand, but ok go off I guess if you're determined to hate on Davis.  Plus the first "drop" was a 312 mph piss missile on a 3 yard pass with about 4 nanoseconds to react.  I'd put that one on playcalling or too much heat from Josh.

I think this thread of a great example of how biased fans are for their own team and players. That includes myself.

Kincaid makes a few pre season catches and he gets praise, accolades, and optimism is through the roof. Kincaid is unproven in the NFL. Tight ends generally are slow developing in the NFL. Remember all the hype about Pitts? Engram?

The Bills get throttled by Pitt and several players looked like dog poop, mediocre, subpar, etc...Fans responses are it's only pre season, there's time for improvement, he can get in shape, he can get coached up, he just had a bad game. Come on now!

What a paradox. Cherry picking is what we do.

He dropped for a reason. Let that sink in too.

He's no sure thing especially with Dorsey calling plays.

He's unproven and I'm going to hope for the best. He certainly can be a weapon. I just have to temper my expectations on a rookie TE who played at Utah.

This post reeks of "we didn't draft the guy IIIIIIIIII wanted, therefore he sucks".  So which WR did you want us to draft up for?

Starters against starters, 1s vs 1s, I call the Steelers 2 TDs superior execution. You know exactly what I’m referencing. The same plays you called “flukes.”

I'm starting to think you simply don't understand what a fluke is.  Anybody can stumble into "superior execution" for a play or two where they do everything right for once.  Getting it perfect once and then never again doesn't mean they deserve the full credit for doing it right the ONE time.

I used to play table tennis on a regular basis and there was this superior player I could never beat, not even close.  Then one day I just happened to put it together and took a single game from him and went right back to losing to him.  There was just a momentary lapse in his focus in a certain aspect of his play I accidentally took advantage of.  It was a fluke despite my temporary "superior execution".

I mean, you can’t just take away their TDs. Would the Steelers have scored a 3rd if their starters remained in the game? Who knows, but they were clearly winning. You call it two fluke plays, I call it superior execution.

Oh yeah, not arguing against Dawkins and Brown, both were terrible. But there was one play in particular on the opening drive, the 3rd down I believe, where he did have time and decided to roll out to his right anyway, which brought the rush in his face and took away half the field. The result was a throw that landed nowhere really.

You call under 2 yards per rush on 30+ carries outside of that one long TD "superior execution"?  You call 144 total pass yards even including that 25 yard TD superior execution?

I call that proof of a 1st quarter fluke.

To be fair, the Steelers pulled their offensive starters after those two possessions. They looked like they could have their way with our defense, very Bengals-like. Of course, it is the preseason and there’s no game plan or areas of emphasis to stop… but 1s vs 1s, the Bills got their @**es handed to them.

1s vs 1s getting our butts handed to us lasted all of 2 TDs on 2 plays for the Steelers.  It's called a fluke.  They averaged 4.4 yards per play INCLUDING those 87 yards on 2 plays, compared to our 5.8 yards per play.

    *edit*

Outside those 2 TDs, the math works out to 3.1 yards per play for them.

Barkley just played his way off the team. Kyle hasn’t been great either but he has the better arm and you hope he gets more comfortable as he learns the offense. However, if Allen misses extended time we are done regardless. Would look to develop younger QB on the practice squad versus keeping Barkley around.

Felt to me like Barkley tried too hard to keep up the momentum from last week after being promoted to QB2 for today.
