  1. I'm really at that "shake fists helplessly at the sky" stage with the Patriots. This really just goes on & on & on. If they find a way to keep Jimmy G., and he's as good as everyone thinks, it will break me. I may spend the rest of my days in the fetal position, singing an endless loop of "Easy Street."
  2. I suppose it's hairsplitting. They're both excellent CB's. I have to admit to a little bit of surprise on this. I have always been more of a "Gilmore defender," but he really doesn't seem like BB's kind of player. Of course, when he starts playing for him, it may be a different story.
  3. We really can't keep signing guys to max deals though. We're already overpaying for Dareus - which I don't mind terribly, since he's a great player when out there. But to pay Gilmore $14+ is overpaying, and he just hasn't justified that.
  4. Butler is at least equal to him in coverage, imo. Butler blankets his guy just like Gilmore does - but doesn't have the lapses Gilmore does.
  5. I feel a little better about it w/ the Butler news. Even though the Pats will get a very good WR, Gilmore is a bit of a downgrade from Butler. Butler is a very physical, hard-hitting CB, and just as good a cover guy as Gilmore. They'll be paying more for a worse CB.
  6. Horrible? Strange that Belichick missed that. He must not have watched much tape.
  7. While I hate losing Gilmore, and even MORE hate losing him to the Pats - I can't fault Whaley here. I think he's a great CB, but too much $$$ to keep him.
  8. He & Butler together are pretty scary. Both pretty young, too. I saw BB has a girlfriend now. Maybe she can start leaning on him to retire.
  9. Nightmare. The Pats now have the best CB tandem in the league. They're overpaying, but they have the room to do that. Wake me up when Jonathan Kraft is their owner, McDaniels is HC, Brissett is their starting QB and they have a no-name GM.
  10. Poorly written on my part - talking more about potential. I am the last person on this board who can speak w/ authority on college football prospects - but I like everything I've read about Peppers. And I like the idea of having a great safety just in general. It's an area we've really been lacking in.
  11. I'd be excited about any of those guys. I love that Taylor is coming back. Now, we can chill on the QB position (hopefully still take a high rounder, but at least wait until the 2nd). I'd actually love Peppers, since it feels like ages since the Bills had a dominating safety.
  12. The Pegulas are among my favorite people who have ever owned the Bills. They made a mistake w/ Rex, but cut their losses early on that one. That's all you can ask.
  13. I definitely still see them drafting a QB high - but signing Taylor means they don't have to reach in the 1st. My guess is they go for an impact player at another position at 10, and see who drops to them in the 2nd. It's possible either Mahomes or Watson will still be there (not likely w/ Watson, but you really never know).
  14. Gotta say - love the offseason so far. This is a smart move. I'm not sure how they were able to pull it off - there are teams that would have paid him more, imo.
