Considering the per capita income of Buffalo is $29k and the median combined family income in Buffalo is $46k per year...

It would downright shock me if the median family income of CURRENT season ticket holders was much over $50k.

You would downright be shocked if the current season ticket holders was much more than $50,000?

I would be downright shocked if it was more than 5% of season ticket holders around total income at $50,000.  That is roughly $3,200 take home pay a month WITHOUT deducting insurance and other things.

Sorry, I'm not seeing that how that family is affording season tickets.

    Thats all the Bills.

The Bills are trying to maximize PSL value so the fans pay for as much of the stadium as possible.

Billionaires don’t pay. Average Jane’s and Joe’s working for $22 per hour pay.

And that’s okay, because other teams do it (or at least that’s the argument from other fans defending it).

Of course $22.00 an hour people aren't buying PSL's.  That is about $44,000 per year and the poverty threshold is $30,000 and below.

So yes, families that are just $14,000 above poverty line and can't afford PSL's is kinda one of those "goes without saying" types of things.

Think about it for a minute. Beasley, Davis, and Diggs all left and feel bitter towards Bills fans.

    Why is that?

Every single Bills fan?  I mean, these guys were all heavily criticized by Bills fans on social media.

    Beasley for his covid opinions.

Davis for his consistent drops and disappearing acts for stretches at a time.

Diggs with his big drop in KC, his constant cryptic messages, his blow up on Allen on the sidelines, disappearing acts in the playoffs etc...

Diggs paid someone to write a heartfelt goodbye to the city of Buffalo.

I think this should answer your question.

  4. Best doesn't necessarily mean who produced most.  It could.

But just overall if you take everything into a player from production to leadership, tenure, great moments, to just likeable.....

#1 to me is Frank Reich.  He was here the longest and was Kelly's right hand man.  Lead the greatest comeback in NFL playoff history.

    Left on good terms.

Wonder if Vegas has an over/under on Tommy John surgeries this season?

Pitch clock or not, humans routinely and regularly throwing anything 90-100 m.p.h. is pushing the limits of the arm.

…..then adding the wrist wrenching spin?

    Somethings gonna give.

Baseball is so serious down here that the kids are getting Tommy John just to get a stronger throwing arm.  My college roommate years ago got Tommy John surgery when he was 12.  He didn't need it but got it because it puts an extra ligament in your elbow.

One of our bullpen guys in college increased his fastball by 3 mph after Tommy John.

For stats, most Tommy John surgeries are done with kids ages 15-18.

Here I stand, watching the Chiefs celebrate, alone on the field. My teammates have all gone. Not that they don't have drive and passion, or feel the sting of loss. They do, but not like me. I feel the sting like no other. That is why my teammates, my friends, my Brothers have gone inside, and I stand here, alone on the field.

I am going to the hospital to see my fallen comrade and Brother in arms who defied death on the field today. I go as is required by what is true and right, for there is no greater bond than that of Brothers under fire. I do not think less of my teammates or coaches for all going back to Buffalo. There are not many who are burdened like I am. My heart and determination drive me onward. Though you be in a coma Dalmar, fear not, for I am coming.

I do not know for how much longer I can hold this team at this level. I tell them they need to do the things that I do to sustain greatness, but they do not listen. They do not understand for they are just Josh, or Sean, or Tre, or Von, and I am Him. I am Him upon whom my Brothers can rely. I am Him who will work, and toil, and bear the load for all. I am Him who will always stay loyal to those I love. I am Him, but they will not listen, and I fear that they will not be helped.

These thoughts were those solely of Dibs' imaginings and should in no way be taken or inferred as to be factually from Diggs' head.

We need to translate this like Diggs wrote this.

Holy crap talk about being disingenuous.

I guess Kincaid won’t be used.

    Is our roster complete?

By your replies, it sounds like you think our offensive line in 2020 was better than now.  Tight Ends were also better.  Running game was better in 2020?

Josh and Diggs have been basically done with each other for over a year. Maybe we find out one day what caused the relationship that was once so tight to fracture so badly. But the reality is they both put on a brave face and praised each other through gritted teeth last year.

Josh was 100% on board with the decision to move on and indeed I suspect he was even encouraging it.

My tinfoil hat was the tweet that broke the camels back.  I think Diggs is someone that you have to walk around on egg shells and I think Allen knew that Diggs was exploring trades.  That tweet came out and Allen texted Beane "done with this his s***, ship him."

If Arizona had ANY sense as an organization, they'd dump Kyler Murray and draft a QB

Maybe that's the reason they trade back, build up picks for next years QB class.  Bills get the #6 and we get Harrison Jr and I end up with an erection.

Yep. If he had cleared his man coverage a split second sooner the Bills have a touchdown at the end against KC. But he got caught up just long enough by the DB in coverage and Josh had to hold the ball one tick too long and Jones got there.

I'm not sure I totally agree on the difference between he and Beas. Beas wasn't great against man either. He was an elite zone beater not because of his suddenness but because of his natural feel for the soft spots in zone defences. In was instinctive. I think ultimately it is why he was an UDFA yet went on to have some success, because you can't measure the thing Cole Beasley had that was special. It was feel.

I think Shakir is more sudden but he doesn't run routes as well and doesn't have the same feel. Even last season there were multiple times when he ran into coverage where you really want your slot receiver to just stop and sit. That was a major problem his rookie year and it is why despite being on the field on a third of the Bills offensive snaps in 2022 he totalled just 20 targets. He did improve his route running a bit in year 2, and he is definitely a threat with the ball in his hands when actually the player he reminds me of isn't a receiver at all - it is Austin Ekeler - with that low centre of gravity and ability to twist and turn out of tackles and bounce out of contact.

Could he be a 1,000 yard receiver? I'm not sure for two reasons:

    1. I still think the Bills will want to have a lot of 12 personnel packages where Kincaid essentially becomes their slot receiver. I don't think they are going to have that as the single base formation or anything like that, but they are going to want to use it some. In those packages Shakir either comes off the field or splits wide where he just isn't close to as effective for obvious reasons - alligator arms, route running, size.

    2. I think Josh Allen is a downfield thrower. I don't know that he is every going to be Tom Brady who is happy to move down the field with running backs, tight ends and slot receivers. Partly because he doesn't throw those little option routes, screens and wheels with enough precision for YAC and partly because I think he can lose patience when you try and force him into that kind of game plan. So I'm not sure a shifty slot receiver like Shakir will get the level of targets he needs for a 1,000 yard season.

He could probably do it once somewhere down the line.... Beas nearly did it for us in 2020. Lance Moore who was mentioned as another comparison somewhere in this thread did it once with Drew as well. But those true pure slot guys are rarely 1,000 yard guys on a regular basis. Edelman did it three times in six years with Brady but again I just don't think the Bills offense can or should be a replica of that New England offense.

My realistic projection for Shakir in 2024 is something like, 80 targets, 60 catches, 820 yards, 4 TDs.

I agree.  It's why I think Odunze makes the most sense and realistically could get with a nice package (that's what she said).

He looks like a slightly faster Gabe Davis and is considered a contestant catch monster.  I think the Bills would hugely benefit with a guy where it's a broken play and Allen scrambles to the right, just go long and Allen with throw it up.

What historical examples provide evidence that the Bills traded Diggs to the highest bidder and not to the team that was close to being the highest bidder and was where Diggs wanted to go?

    Standing by…

What evidence can you provide that we only turned better offers?  Standing by.

Amari Cooper and Keenan Allen are two examples that are in this thread.  Another one would be Randy Moss for a 4th.

Diggs went higher than all of them.

Again, you said you're surprised we got anything at all but then say you think we had a better offer than Houston's 2nd is a gigantic reach.

How are you surprised we got anything but then say there was a better offer on the table we passed up?  LOL, that doesn't make sense at all.

  12. 10 minutes ago, TheWeatherMan said:

Correct, I think It might not have been the best offer, but it was a very generous one, more than enough compensation.  Players don’t always go to the highest bidder.

With the other WR's and the return they got, its safer to say we got the best offer than we didn't get the best.

Plenty of examples give evidence to that.

  13. 6 minutes ago, TheWeatherMan said:

You mean the game where Mahomes got concussed, sat out half the game, and they still beat the Browns?  You’re right, the AFC South is a weaker division, so why would the Texans take a step back like the 21 Browns?  This argument you’re making is strange..

Did you forgot about this?  This puts the game at 16-10 at halftime as opposed to 16-3.

Meanwhile the Texans lose to the Ravens 34-10.

So the Browns went 11-5 in a good division with 3 teams making the playoffs.

The Texans go 10-7 with a very weak division with no other playoff teams.

  14. 5 minutes ago, TheWeatherMan said:

Help me out here…what could logically draw you to this conclusion? They are better coached, have a better QB and have better skill players.  Plus they are coming off a better season last year than the Browns have had in 15+ years.

Well, Baker Mayfield in 2020 broke the rookie TD record.  The Browns were a controversial play away from beating KC at KC in the divisional round.

Kevin Stefanski is a 2 time Coach of the Year.

The Browns were 8th in Super Bowl odds coming into 2021.

The Browns with the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals were a much tougher division than the AFC South that the Texans are in.

    2 minutes ago, TheWeatherMan said:

I’m sorry this doesn’t make sense to you, but then again, I didn’t intend it too.  I never once said we didn’t get enough for Diggs.

You are implying that what we got wasn't the best offer....hence meaning we didn't get enough because we left a better offer on the table.

  15. 5 minutes ago, TheWeatherMan said:

    Easy explanation:

am surprised we received a 2nd rounder for Diggs, even though value wise it’s more like a 4th or 5th. 2025 2nd = 2024 3rd and the Bills sent a 5th and 6th rounder. He had an awful 10 game stretch to close out the season and carries a pretty hefty cap charge to the new team.

I’m skeptical that it was the best offer on the table because he went to the team he was reportedly the most interested in, i.e. Beane did right by Diggs.

This explanation doesn't make any sense.

You have established that he was awful in his last 10 game stretch and surprised he got anything for him.  But when we get a 2nd, it wasn't the best offer?

You're basically saying that he wasn't worth a draft pick of any value but at the same time the value we got wasn't enough.

  16. 9 minutes ago, BullBuchanan said:

Of course it does, but he was a role player, and a very good one, just not some all-time elite player that folks make him out to be. He wasn't a top player when he played and he wasn't anywhere near Diggs level. I'm not the one that started this argument but all the folks who insist on turning it into a good thing that our #1 WR is now Curtis Samuel insist on digging the hole deeper.

We'll survive without Diggs, but the narrative and agenda being created here is WILD. The whole thing is a joke honestly.

He was a 7 time Pro Bowler in a era where Pro Bowl meant something.  He was a 2 time Second Team All Pro.  4 Time All AFC Team.  Yes, he was a top player.

    What am I missing?

Houston traded a potentially Top 40 pick next  year for a couple Day 3 picks and a rental?.. And Diggs wants to test FA at his age 32 season?

    I just heard that!

He's going to Dallas in 2025.
