  1. If the Commissioner was consistently telling referees to skew games I think that by now people would know about. Too many people would be involved to cover that up. At some point some one would have squealed.
  2. It would also be interesting to know how many QBs are picked in each round. Some rounds may have more QBs selected than others which makes it more likely that at least a few will be successful.
  3. Don't they still have to interview a black candidate under the NFL's policies?
  4. Alot of people might not like Kelsay and Denney but they would most likely be better next year than any rookie the bills could draft in the second round. Moreover, they still have Chris Ellis who they drafted last year in the third round. You really can't keep more than 5 DEs so you would have to cut Ellis and basically say he was a bust.
  5. What about when the colts had the number 1 and 2 overall and selected Steve Emtman and Quentin Coryatt. Emtman was a total bust and Coryatt was mediocre. That has to be one of the worst drafts of all time
  6. Maybe ralph wants the team to be bad so that fans stop going to games and he has an excuse to move the team out of buffalo like the movie "Major League".
  7. Doesn't cash to cap also mean that all the signing bonus counts against year 1 because that is when it is paid. Moreover, if they made another signing like Dockery who had a $17 or 18 million signing bonus that in and of itself would cancel out about half of that.
  8. Yeah if Trent Edwards had the greatest WR of all time and very good #2, the best OL in the league, and a great RB and FB like Montana did I'm sure he would be very good. Hopefully all that can fit under cash to cap.
  9. Rod Marinelli will probably be available soon. I'm sure the bills could get him for real cheap.
  10. The problem is the player can sign the offer sheet at any time and the contract is then guaranteed. If I was Greer as soon as they put the franchise tag on me I would sign the offer sheet and get the average salary of the top five CBs which is too much for a player of his talents.
  11. Better Starting RBs (no particular order for any groups) 1. Adrian Peterson 2. Michael Turner 3. Clinton Portis 4. DeAngelo Williams 5. Steve Slaton 6. Brandon Jacobs 7. LaDainian Tomlinson 8. Frank Gore 9. Brian Westbrook 10. Steven Jackson 11. Marion Barber 12. Larry Johnson At Marshawn's Level Thomas Jones Chris Johnson Matt Forte Ryan Grant Ronnie Brown Slightly lower than Marshawn Derrick Ward Jamal Lewis Kevin Smith Justin Fargas Le'Ron McClain Jonathan Stewart Warrick Dunn LenDale White Maurice Jones-Drew Average starting RB would be the 16th best running back considering there are 32 teams. Given that at best he is slightly above average but not top 10 and definitely not top 5.
  12. Can we please drop this notion that the Offensive coordinator is the one to blame every year for the poor offense. Look Kevin Gilbride won a super bowl ring as the giants offensive coordinator and the giants are doing very well this year also. Dan Henning is now OC in carolina and that team will be one of the top two teams in the NFC. Even Fairchild has improved the colorado state football team (they actually won a bowl game after only winning a total of 7 games the past two years combined).
  13. Looking at the drafts of the short Levy era it looks like the bills under Levy were no better at talent evaluation. Donte Whitner Ohio State - Bad value for this pick John McCargo NC State - complete bust Ashton Youboty Ohio State - Average Ko Simpson South Carolina - Ok value for backup player Kyle Williams LSU - Good value here but still average player at best Brad Butler Virginia - Good value Keith Ellison Oregon St. - Decent value but below average starter Terrance Pennington New Mexico - Can't fault for missing 7th rounder Aaron Merz - Can't fault for missing 7th rounder Marshawn Lynch California - Poor value below averge starting RB (the easiest position to fill) Paul Posluszny Penn St. - Average player at best Trent Edwards Stanford - Decent value but will probably be marginal starter at best would be good backup Dwayne Wright Fresno St. - bust John Wendling Wyoming - bust (reminds me of Leif Larsen pick, has great physical attributes but not a real player) TE Derek Schouman Boise St. - Ok pick for this late DE C.J. Ah You Oklahoma - Can't fault for missing 7th rounder Moreover, the free agent signings of Dockery and Walker have not produced much for the amount paid. Overall a good GM has to find at least a one or two above average players in every draft and Levy did not do that.
