Fires, hurricanes, snowstorms, etc.. will have a big effect on games this year. Then we have serious injuries which are becoming too common, unfortunately. Then add in the new variant "scare" for covid and this fall is going to be epic. I just hope the NFL doesn't screw with us too much.

I really don't think covid has any effect at all at this point. If anything at all just maybe mask inside.

It’s getting out of hand but they won’t be canceling any regular season games outside of dying on the field.

It's getting out of hand? There's been like 2 games canceled, 1 regular season game and 1 preseason game. Don't know if I'd say "it's getting out of hand" just yet.

Cancelling these preseason games?  No problem whatsoever.  During the season if it’s life threatening like Damar no problem either.

Yup exactly.....It's very rare any game gets canceled regular season or not anyways, but certain possible situations can occur that are much more important than football (as we experienced last season).

In the event of a serious scenario that is severe like that, only someone who is a 100% pure bred ####### would have a problem if a game is canceled.

Although I know that any judgement on the Oline is best determined a ways into the season, it's not encouraging how often we hear about OL issues.

I think I can recall not many times that it was mentioned that Oline had looked good.

So lets say, I don’t know, 50,000 thousand years from now.

We are possibly so advanced that we can create organs in labs and transfer your DNA to your new brain.  Kinda like changing out a car battery and reprogramming your radio.

Any failing organ can just be replaced…including skin.

    Is it possible?

No, I think death is just a part of life and life can't ever be eternal. Might extend life for a period of time...or Maybe see people cloned over and over or whatnot.

Even if you somehow turn into a vampire you will still die sometime or other. Not sure if anyone would want to be here forever in the first place lol

Jets will win this game, our OL is still a work in progress and we just lost Doyle for the entire year and the next man up process will not go well against the Jets DL.  I seriously have doubts McD will be able to pull off his dual coaching responsibility this year.  Too much responsibility on his plate, and he is already known for his bad game day management.  He has not done well having his team ready to play when it matters.  This season is going to be sink or swim because they failed to bring in a outside DC, IMO.

Definitely would be no surprise if Jets win...but to your comment about the OL, that's why it's such a toss up to me. Just like the Bills they have questions at OL

The last game showed a lot of players not engaged at all. So many penalties and so little concentration on the basics.

I think McBeane’s most challenging issue isn’t offensive line or MLB..

It’s waking those guys up from the sleepwalk they showed at the end of last season.

One would think a team would be fired up and ready to respond coming off a one of a kind type emotional season no team ever experienced along with how the Bengals game went..

So I mean you'd think they'd be fired up from disappointment of Bengals loss along with Hamlin returning

I don't know.  Belichick hasn't won without Brady and Reid hasn't won without Mahomes.  Belichick is about 10 games below .500 without Brady.

He may not have won a SB but he won lots of games making post season on a regular basis for period of time and also made a SB appearance. Belichick I can get, but Reid has had success with different QBs.

I don't see the Bills putting up 31 points vs that Jets D.

I think the Jets Dline dominants the Bills Oline. That's the more likely outcome than vice versa. Quinton Williams will be dominant.

I have to agree with you here, on the road facing a division rival in their home opener against a pretty strong Jets defense that likely will improve from last year. That by itself 31 points may be a tall task.

    Edwards? Has multiple starts

    Bates?

I'm just saying we barely heard a peep about Conor since day 1 which is usually a great sign for an ol cause majority of the time they only get talked about when they get beat

Yeah not much for the most part. But they talked about him in the Colts game Saturday noting some good blocks.

He probably just let his agent do everything. Many NFL players just focus on football and sign the papers their agents tell them to sign.

I don't know, but even so the man/lady has to be there in a true conservatorship and considering such a huge, life changing moment for himself and them I highly doubt that in such dream come true event that is monumental in ways changing everything. That moment becomes reality with his rookie contract signing. Don't see how in such an event Oher or anyone else would just "let the agent do everything" and not be involved.

I understand what you're saying that may explain it, but I assume you would mostly agree  how very unlikely those 2 are.

All I mean is it's kinda strange

What has Shorter shown at this point that A) makes another team want to sign him and B) makes him so indispensable that you don’t want to cut him? There are 4,5,6 rounds picks as well as 2nd and 3rd year guys all over the league that are going to get cut…I don’t think Shorter will be in as high demand as you think

At this point Shavers is made more of the opportunities so far imo

    What was it like?

Are you getting info to prepare yourself lol? Lot of ppl ask about that when they are definitely getting locked up soon or think there's a good chance of it lol.

When the inevitable moment it's said to you, "find the biggest dude and punch him in the face".... I'd suggest not to take that advice haha.

I unfortunately can say that prison is better than jail, in most cases anyways...hang in there,

Did either of you read it?  Basically, when he signed the "conservatorship" papers he thought he was signing "adoption" papers.  Also, he only found out about this in Feb 2023, so he didn't wait till now, he learned about it a few months ago.

Didn't read through entire thread just yet so sorry if it's been addressed already, but question regarding the "conservatorship"......If it was a true conservatorship, wouldn't that mean they would have had some sort of control, involvement etc in the NFL contract that was signed with Ravens as a rookie? I'm not exactly sure so could be mistaken....

But if not, in that case I don't see how he learned about it recently. He would have known then at that point right? Correct me if I'm wrong here.....

It is possible that Shorter will suffer that severe case of hangnail or halitosis or whatever it is that appears to afflict so many late-round draft picks who have high physical potential, but need seasoning.  All around the league at the start of the season

How do we keep him on the roster though?  We running 7 receivers? I'd rather him take Shorter's spot at this point since he's been invisible all of training camp but I doubt if Beane will give up on his draft pick so quickly

No telling how everything plays out in the end, but I think Shavers (as of now) is making sure his name is in the mix too. He's done a bit more than Shorter it seems at this point

Shorter needs to prove himself on special teams to make the roster. I watched his special teams snaps against the Colts and came away unimpressed.

Personally if Shakir continues to have issues catching the ball and separating I would trade him for whatever I could get right before final cut downs. I don't think the Bills will actually do that though.

Shavers might even be ahead of Shorter at the moment.....

but then what will we have?!

Honestly, will start to have a feeling of hope and some confidence knowing we are much stronger together as one when facing tooth decay. Although with many more inevitable casualties in the ongoing battle against tooth decay and the fight is far from over, we have only the satisfaction of this small victory in just one of many steps in the war.

Agree and I think he will have a great year with Allen and all the weapons we have.  I think he is well aware that Josh makes it look easy and that many wr will do well catching passes from Allen.  I think he will opt to stay and the Bills will offer him a fair raise.

Many thought the same going into last season. Not saying last season was all bad or anything, but not the kinda break out year people were thinking.

There are others factors too that give hope.  Beyond adding McGovern and Torrence, Edwards and Shell seem to be quality depth signings.  Ike another year removed from injury and hopefully a healthy ascending Brown.

But most importantly, IMO, is another year in Kromer's system.  I'm expecting a good unit.

I fully understand when that's the way it's viewed and expectations are reasonable. What I mean is there were some that posted how confident the Oline definitely will be much improved.
