  1. I remember he had to talk about hockey too. That was awful and embarrassing. I remember one playoff (I think it was the 99 run?) he was trying to wage some big crusade against Hasek.

Lol. i remember his attempt at talking hockey. It was pathetic. I'll never forget Brian Holzinger had a show with Chuck. Everyone wanted to bar-b-q Holzinger for his lame effort trying to move Brett Hull in front of the net during No Goal. Chuck just gave him a pass. Really integrity there huh? Chuck did know football but you had to sit through all the obnoxious egotistical raving to get to it. Come to think of it, its been decades without a really good show. Last one I can think of was Murph's one on one sports in the late 80's/early 90's. Sad.

  2. This is without doubt fact. The NFL only allows two or so minutes and practice to be filmed before closing it. It was in this window that JJ observed Kelly practicing shovel passes. JJ thought it was odd because he never saw the Bills run it on any of the film he watched. The Bills noticed that Dallas he trouble with this play in a preseason game against Jacksonville and were hoping to exploit it. Everytime he mentions it to Kelly, Jimbo justs buries his head in his hands. JJ didn't cheat on that one. We were just idiots about it.

  3. Well, one episode left. A few things. One, the plot device of everything crumbling at once, is getting old. We all knew the Jax/Irish deal wouldn't come off clean but how about a little drama boys? You do have 90+ minutes to play with. Second, and this dovetails into the first point, Clay has to be immediately brought back into the fold, and privy to the moment by moment happenings of the club? Although this season is far better to lasts this plot device seems too contrived. On the plus side, Jax doping up Adriana (cant help but still call her that) was a great ending. The finale better be a show stopper.

  4. power ranking WGR people...

    1) Howard - professional and logical in his opinions, occasional epic rants

    2) Jeremy White - i tend to always agree with him

    3) Panther

    4) Dan Fisher - witty and funny

    5) Bulldog - strikes a good balance between being a fan and being realistic

    6) Greg Bauch - hilarious at times

    7) Schopp - subtly humerous if you listen close enough, respects nuances

    8) Joe B - Knowledgable

    9) Sal - Knowledgable

    10) Paul Hamilton

    11) Kevin Sylvester - i'll give him a pass for now because there is absolutely nothing for him to talk about

    Throw your rankings out there

Not to be rude but what are you on?

Do you have access to some secret government lab experiment? I know it would take something like that to make ANYONE on GR entertaining.

Think about what you wrote for a second. You ranked a sound effect as #3. That says plenty whether you intended it or not.

For me, I stopped listening about a year ago and it seems nothing has changed (haven't had the misfortune of catching the hockey show but I remember Sylvester's show with Bob Gaughn and Puff. That was brutal, almost as bad as the dreaded "Bob and Ann" show.)

There really isn't a person much less a show that is any good on the station. LBlue was so right on about lame comedy bits by unfunny people. Bulldog is a mystery as to how he has lasted so long. Howard was so boring to me. But, they have no competition therefore no incentive to try and up their game at all. It sounds like college radio.

I travel for work and there are some really good stations in the same market size. So glad I stopped listening but it's a shame to hear how Murph has toned it down. When he was on WBEN his show was a must listen.
