yet .......
who's going to fill those shoes in a sequel
RIP James
I always hoped for a movie but, obviously, we're beyond that now. Just curious, fellow Sopranos freaks, what direction do you think it would have taken? Chris and Bobby dead. Carlo going on the stand in the future. Only Pauly left. He's no council to replace Sil, that's for sure. NY beaten. Would have made an interesting movie. RIP James

Ok, I'll weigh in. I swore off GR yeas ago but I decided to give them a fresh listen. Maybe things have changed.
The AM show- I dont know if Howard is running out the clock until retirement but he seems bored. Never the most entertaining to begin with, he seems resigned to his fate. The "Golly gee" approach only gets you so far. Would have been better served as a beat reporter. I'm sure he'd admit to that. Jeremy W- Mr. "wait until I Google a stat to support my argument." I'll never forget years ago, when a caller complained about Whitner, and JW replied that he had as many INT's as Ed Reed (week 4 I believe) therefore was just as good. I laughed, the caller laughed and hung up on his own. He just talks and talks trying to find a nugget of gold.Pointless. An idiot for for sure, but even worse totally uninformative, lacking any original thought.
The PM show- What to say about Schoop. He takes such a opposite, myopic view, and if you dont fit into that landscape, you dont get it. I actually think he is a good broadcaster but he is too walled-in by his attitude/management. Bulldog is a joke, we all know that. How he still has a career is totally amazing. Can't articulate. waste of airtime.
Sal- Sorry guys....he sucks. Another boring mouthpiece of sewage. Wake me up when he says something not derived from another opinion.
Joe B- He works hard. Great. Now go break a story w/ all that amazing access you have. I love how he says "Schefter tweets" or "Sal M of ESPN tweets" Hey dickhead, how about you be the first?
Kevin S-Lol
Overall, the station sounds horrible. Each show is the same everyday. Ever hear about letting a show breathe and having it's own life? Too many of the same voices, talking the same thing. I was right to tune out. I'm sorry I tuned back in. Now, forever deleted from my dial except for Bills play by play.

I always thought the ending was brilliant. The show was too smart to provide a typical, cookie-cutter resolution. I think that's respect for your audience.

It's in family DNA. It really sucks.

What a swing. Loved him as a broadcaster as well. Always learned something every game he did. My friends and I used to laugh about how he sounded like Gwen Stefani.....w/ that SoCal accent. Will truly be missed.

Don's Party. 1976. Don has some friends over on election night 1969. A bit of an intellectual crowd. However, the more they drink, the more things get out of hand lol. This film is quite legendary in Austrailia. Think it was a play first. Hilarious. Take the time to enjoy. You'll be happy.

This. Bobby would be an awesome owner. At least the music in the gameday presentation would be solid.Bob Weir

Let's give credit and criticism where it is due. Azar's call for the 2000 is an all time classic. Van was not good at containing his disappointment when things did not go well. A home town announcer needs to shift to the "it's just a game" reassurance mode when the team suffers a heartbreaking loss, Van was incapable of doing so. When he shared his sorrow in the wake of a defeat it was non-therapeutic. Reese of Philly and the late Bill King of Oakland are the true standard bearers. Jeanneret from the hockey world is at the Reese/king level but miller is not there.
Please. While I admire and love the work of both Reese and King (and they were/are great) in no way can you tell me that Van did not have the balance those two did/have. I've heard hundreds of losses on the radio (sad but true) where Van did assume the (your words) "it's just a game" posture. Want proof? Listen the the 90 seconds after Wide Right. I believe he actually uses your phrase with the backdrop of the war to put it into context.

MLB 12? story. My friend played with the SF Giants. 162 game season.....took him months...made it the WS against Boston. Posey hits a 3run HR walk-off bomb in bottom of the 12th in game 6 to tie the series. It goes 7. Faces knuckleballer Wakefield. SF cant solve him until he tires in the 8th. Trailing 2-0, he rallies in the 9th against the closer to cut the lead to 2-1. Loads the bases with one out. We have five us pounding beers and cheering him on. 3-1 count. Hits into a 6-2-3 double play.
Xbox crashes against the wall.

Thoughts and prayers to you, Jim.

Greg Bauch is hilarious. They definitely miss him.
Bauch is as edgy as Jay Leno. Lame.

I look at it fairly simply. During their Superbowl winning years, they had a heck of a defense to go with a heck of an offense. Since that last Superbowl win, they've had 8 seasons and 8 seasons of playoffs with Tom Brady. I'll not even consider the Cassel year, which was good, but still no playoffs. Lets look at their record in those 8 seasons:
- Lost wild card one time
- Lost division twice
- Lost conference championship 3 times
- Lost Superbowl twice
Their defense has taken too much of a back seat IMO to be able to say that they're still in "their winning ways". I believe that their offense with Brady at the helm will be good enough to make the playoffs no matter what. Whether they actually return to being a "dynasty" is in question.
Quite true. Maybe BB became seduced by the realization that he was watching Brady become a HOF QB in front of his eyes. If so, it's ironic considering BB's defensive genius. I think the first chink in the dynasty armor was the Indy comeback in the AFC title game. Blowing an 11 point lead was not Patriot football. To me, the Cassell year may have been BB's finest in a way. 11-5, with Brady out. You cant tell me anyone wanted to face them in the playoffs.
If Brady is Brady with no noticeable decline, and BB works his magic again, they will be in the mix...again.

I gave up on WGR years ago. They make me want to puke . Ever since Coach Dickerson. Do yourself a favor and get xm radio. Ross Tucker is decent on NFL Radio.
No doubt. I turned it off years ago. Whatever they're up to now, I'm sure it still sucks. Bauch is gone? Addition by subtraction. How Bulldog still is on the air is amazing (assuming he still is)

Taliban will probably be replaced by Revis, replacing Edelman in a WR heavy draft should be no problem, especially that Dobson has a year under his belt and utility man Shane Vereen will help compensate for catches and Spikes was a liability in pass defense, Pepper Johnson was his biggest advocate and he's with us. No, I suspect that the Patriots will be just fine. Like it or not Belichick is a football genius and he'll retool this roster once again. I'm just wondering what it will be this time, from small slot WR to jumbo TE formations to multi-faceted stable of RBs. I must admit that I do enjoy watching his creativity and innovative concepts, it's great for football and guys like him keep this sport going forward. Oh boy, I feel like a dirty little fat boy sneaking off to eat a chocolate bar for saying that!
This is so true. Hatred aside, as football fans you must marvel at how he keeps reinventing his team year after year, no matter what is put in his way. No matter what happens between now at the season opener, know he'll have a system in place to maximize whomever is on the roster.

I doubt that w/ Coco still at the dentist lol. Seriously, I doubt the Bennie or Casodo or god forbid little Paulie would have the brains to step up. I did like Butch. I loved how he was incredulous when Phil stated " There's no scraps in my scrapbook". LOL
