The Bills just traded Patrick Mahomes to the Chiefs last night. There will be different opinions than yours. Sorry that you don't get a perfect world of agreement with your reflexive defense of Doug Whaley's draft board.
Isn't it possible that the Bills have more trade power for next's years draft? I mean, with all the next year's QBs are a better class talk an all? Maybe we'll see the real value of this trade next April.
-
Agreed, if Rex was in charge of the drafts, Whaley would not be blamed.
Whaley was, and Rex had input. That seems to have changed since McDermott.
I wonder who SET UP Whaley's draft board? Maybe it was Nix.

no, he's worse, probably be fired mid season and they will finish 2-14.
that's why I'm not watching this season. I mean coaches being fired, losing games, why the !@#$ would you even watch?
I can post ridiculous bull **** just like you have so far this off season. but carry on with you're "firing the HC" bull ****!
When they get irrational, I found it's much better to say nice chatting with you and have a good day and be done with them. They aren't listening to logic anyway, so why waste your time?

Bull
That response tells me all I need to know about you. Have a nice day.

You have to think of the future. We have been stuck with little options at QB for a long time. The main reason for the playoff drought.
Constant coaching changes had more to do with the playoff drought than the QB situation. New systems, new coordinators and player turn over keep killing this team.
-
Nobody said they would start? They are there if Taylor doesn't improve. Yates is a career backup, don't be surprised if he doesn't make the 53 and Cardale beats him out.
You will not win consistently in this league unless you have a great QB. Taylor could be that guy, you never know. We have to have other options.
Worse thing is Taylor doesn't improve, we pick 10 again next year, miss out on the Big 3. That will set us back another 5 years.
Taylor and Yates have NFL experience. Jones is their project. A rookie would have to beat at least two of them out. More likely Jones would hit the PS if the rookie show more. Again, I don't see it happening so their value to the team this year is nothing for a first round pick. Your going to pass up a guy that would have a better chance of playing this season for that.
-
Let's say we go 7-9 again. Then what do you Do? With no chance at one of those guys. Watson and Tribusky are good prospects.
If they take a QB this year he's not going to start anyway so if they go 7--9 what good did drafting them do? You still have a guy that can' beat your current starter. They also have to beat out T. J. Yates to even have a shot at playing. So I don't follow your logic.
-
I think you could take a shot at Blount. DeAngelo Williams. Starks. Those are veterans, and there will be God knows how many undrafted FAs and guys like MG out there that are drifting around. Or you can go to camp with the three guys on the roster right now, without even counting Tolbert, ad see what they give you. Would have liked to see MG stay but it's just not going to be that difficult to get another guy to take a little bit of the load off Shady.
And maybe the guy that grabs the job will know what to do with a kickoff (sarcasm off).
They'll wait til the smoke clears from the draft and see what else is out there. I can't see the need for a one year, washed up back, looking for his last contract just to stay in the game.

who is the bargain vet that you like at this point though?
hes just uses friends and family as his expert shares on here. im excited for the day that he links to another post on here to back up his opinion.
Well I know his opinions line up with what ever the Rochester writers are crying about. Seen that in action quite a bit.

Facebook Buffalo Bills groups.
I wasn't outraged with FJ because he was pretty much on the end of his career. MG is in his prime and was a very good player for us.
Just a fan's opinion on this whole mess. He shouldn't take your opinion with any credence, by the way. works both ways.
Another fans opinion. Is this what it has come to? We're using other fans opinions to validate the opinion of someone else?

I don't need to calm down. I just don't want to be in the same situation as last year. No depth. You need good depth in the NFL. That's why NE wins and we lose. We have terrible depth and now it just got worse. The way this team drafts I'm not putting my trust in them finding a rb as good as MG was.
Playing in the AFC East helps NE win a lot also. Bills, Jets and Dolphins twice a year?
-
the Pats traded a 5th rd pick in this draft for one season of Barkevious Mingo, already gone to the Colts. Think about that. This season they are trying to replace Marcellus Bennett's production with Dwayne Allen (skeptical), Blount's production with 2 RBs they are collectively paying 7.5 mill for this season, and they traded a 1st round pick for a player they didn't need who is a FA in 2018. They also have no LT, in a terrible OT draft, where they don't pick until the 3rd round. Their moves have been far less than genius, but they have Brady and it doesn't matter (so far). Until he gets hurt.
I can't figure out why they would pay Gillislee more that they reportedly offered Blount. who had twice the yardage and 10 more TDs. Something is not right here.

4 star recruit from Allen, TX. His 2014 film was Zeke-like before his injury. If he's healthy now I'm excited to see him get an opportunity.
If the O-Line keeps run blocking like they have been, I think they'll be alright with him
-
One thing that tends to get over looked is the fact that the O-line played a very big part in the running game. Three guys in the top ten with runs over twenty yards is pretty darn good. Those are some big holes they were opening and if they do it again this season they need to be recognized for it. The run game was a product of the run blocking.
-
lol.
This team is worse right now than when the season ended. The draft once again is needed to keep filling the same holes over and over again. And once again, they lost a very good and productive player in MG.
He can be replaced. A QB matched his numbers.
-
Wow is all I can say to this. really. Taylor is the most dangerous running QB in the NFL. No other QB can run like he can.
He' s a backup. You know that. They didn't just let Walter Payton go. It was Mike Gillislee. Mike Gillislee. Get over it. It's April and they haven't even had the draft yet. My God you guys look for anything to trash this team before they even hit the practice field.
-
Spinning wheels is the definition of the Bills organization. The Brandon/ Whaley nightmare continues.
As the best running QB in the NFL, I would expect that. Doesn't negate the importance of MG, esp if McCoy goes down.
Had the same number of runs greater than twenty yards as Taylor. He's not as spectacular as some people believe. A QB did what he did.
-
Who was a very good player for the Bills. Another hole to fill, again and again.
Tyrod Taylor had more rushing yards in less attempts.
-
Didn't Taylor have the same rushing stats as Gillislee including runs over 20 yards?
-
I wonder what this means? McCoy was second in the league with 11 carries of > 20 yards. Taylor and Gillislee were tied at number six with 7 each > 20 yards. O-line have a big part of this?
-
Because getting a 8td rb on 100 touches is so common? Shady gets hurt this team is done. That's exactly what I would do!
Why? Is the world out of guys that play the position?
-
Maybe the coaches watched the films and seen the holes these guys had to run through. If other teams review the Bills they would look to prevent that from happening to them when they play the Bills. It's unlikely that either one would get the number of long runs as last year. My feeling is Mike would have turned back into a pumpkin next season. Coaching staff might have felt they could get the same production for less money next year. He had the perfect storm last year. I doubt teams will let them get away with those runs next year.
-
If they really wanted him, I would have thought it would be a done deal already.
-
Matt Millen of Detroit; I do not think you know what word never means.
He did not do a good job however.
The former NFL linebacker? Oh maybe he was a former message board nerd. You guys make me laugh with this crap.
If Bills Don't Get A Franchise QB In 2018

How needy teams are for QBs next year will be the factor. I actually hope this years crop works out for the team that picked them. Less teams will to over look 2 number 1's and them some. We'll see. Not like they have to start a rookie this year.
