  1. He takes his crusade very personally...as if his entire existance is linked to Taylor becoming the guy he so dearly believes he can become. I just had to chuckle when I saw the over the top responses to what he did yesterday. The best part was many that were steadfast about TT not having issues throwing over the middle or making reads proclaiming he has now shown us he can do it now...based off that game and those throws. Kudos to TT for a solid performance. Going beyond that at this point is exaggeration, delusion, or wishful thinking.
  2. I'm sorry, but this is quite delusional. I didn't see drastic improvement or poise. I saw more easy and simple throws under little to no pressure. This is the stuff I'm talking about. Posters claim they know what TT is and that they don't say he's great, but one decent performance against a bad team and they are claiming him as such. What you saw was nothing special. It's gonna take much more than that over the course of multiple games before I make such proclamations about TT making drastic improvement.
  3. No explanation...as I thought. Look in the mirror when you talk about dishonest and an agenda.
  4. You're opinion is no more educated than mine...you can be sure of that.
  5. I said he had a decent game. Posters are harping over throws to the middle now and are acting as if he's now proven something in that regard after insisting it wasn't a big deal previously. This is what many of us are talking about when we say CoT. They will tell you they don't claim he's great, but they go overboard anytime they get some decent play from the guy...today's performance is a classic example of this. Whatever. I'm not interested in bickering over a win. I initially said it was a usual day and he was decent. Take my thoughts as you will.
  6. I gave him his credit. You guys want to push me for more and I'm not willing. You are exaggerating what he did over the middle today, and his performasnce in general. Shady and the defense carried them. TT was once again along for the ride. He makes the occasional play, but he's far from the answer for this team. I make no apologies for my opinions, and you can call it what you like. It means nothing to me.
  7. Nothing he did today will change how team's defend him. It's funny though how many wanted to defend how he didn't really throw that much less to the middle of the field and it didn't matter, but now are harping on it over some simple throws. CoT
  8. You guys are making way too much over some simple throws short over the middle to wide open receivers. Hardly surprising...
  9. Sure...he had a decent day. Nothing that would make me think he's anything more than what he's shown so far in his career, though.
  10. Usual TT...nothing new, and nothing that tells me that he's anything more than what he's shown. We beat a poor team at home with Shady leading the way along with the D giving up a mere 12 points. Not much else to add, honestly. On to next week...
  11. Give me a break. If TT ever manages to pass at a level that doesn't expose him late in games or in crucial points, I'd be on the bandwagon...any other position is nonsense.
  12. Well, it depends how he's doing it. If it's by the means I suspect like rollouts and option plays, then I'll need to see it work for at least six games before I will believe it's something sustainable. The league has proven it can and will figure out that type of offense, so call me skeptical of it ever being a longterm answer...this would go for any QB or any team FWIW. If he's standing in the pocket and delivering passes with anticipation and using the entire field and making reads, then I'll buy in early. I'm not setting up any excuses...the CoT has plenty for us all anyway.
  13. The best case scenario for this offense is to have great run blocking and let Shady run, run, and run some more. Let TT move around and make plays by either running or finding receivers open when outside the pocket...he stinks in the pocket trying to decipher what is happening otherwise. It's gimmicky, and it will be countered, but this may work for a few games. Expecting anything else than what you've seen from Taylor as a passer is purely wishful thinking...it just is what it is.
  14. They're not fooling anyone. Lots of smoke and mirrors behind Shady leading the way. It may work for a brief period of time if the line can still run block like they have been, but team's don't respect TT as a passer, and that will be exposed...to what degree yet, we do not know, but best case we still have the same pitfalls late in games where TT is forced into being a guy he's not. I'll be mildly amused watching TT finally being "unleashed", while actually cringing at the results that are sure to come.
  15. This is exactly what they will say. Also, don't forget that he hasn't had much work with his receivers, the Oline, any possible injuries to any offensive player, etc...
  16. It's been 100% true the last few years. Once this team is eliminated from the playoffs, losing can only increase your chances of getting better players in the draft...winning is pointless. I have no issue saying I root for losses after being eliminated from the playoffs...i think it's what's best for the long term.
  17. Gotta agree here. It's going to take landing a franchise QB and nailing multiple drafts for this team to have a legit shot. Maybe we contend in 2020.
  18. Tougher schedule, offense that doesn't fit the players we have, weak receivers with no one to draw safeties away from playing near the line of scrimmage, and a ton of roster turnover as well as new coaches and scheme on defense with a suspect secondary/linebacking corps. I have this team between 5-7 wins.
  19. We all better hope and pray this isn't the case. Any coach or GM that petty and short sighted has no shot turning this thing around.
  20. You just don't keep a Mike Tolbert over a young guy like this...you just don't.
  21. Good thread! Can't get on board before the first game, though.
