I agree with a lot of what you said with the exception of his leadership. I think we can all honestly say, with the product on the ice, Okposo’s leadership is greatly over-valued.

This is where I am at, he seems like a great dude but I think the results speak for themselves

Explains the Bates move - solid signing and good for the Bills to pick up draft capital.  The o-line has been a bright spot.

I dont think its a coincidence that we saw improvement on the OL in year 2 of Kromers return

If we could just get Judah to stay one more year, I feel like next year's team could be awesome. Going to have to hope for more improvements from Quadir/JJ and or maybe some portal luck.

Donnie Freeman is probably the first kid to come here in a decade where he's pretty much a no-brainer NBA player unless he literally doesn't improve at all.

    Any word on Chance Westry?

One last anecdotal backstory just for BS sake (backstory)

I owned boxers raising my kids. I LOVED the breed. But they each of THREE all died at 8 years of age due to heart-cancer issues. I thought I need to own a dog who will have longer life something smaller but similar. So Boston terrier was my choice. I see a rescue with a Boston terrier mix. I met her and she was a bundle of joy. We adopted her and at approx  months her belly started to sway and she was getting longer. This isn't looking very Boston terrier ish too me. She was a pitbull. With whom I made every mistake and in rectifying those became involved with and learned about them personally. Before acquiring her I would not have had one by choice either,

As I said earlier my wife's family when she was growing up bred shepherds and boxers, she loves them as well but stays away from both breeds due to their issues with cancer.

After growing up with Danes and their lives being so short (my favorite personality of dogs that I have had though) wanted to go the smaller and longer life route as well.

Boston terriers are adorable btw! I have been thinking about them as a future possibility

But, we are using our words! Nobody has been bit.

    Yet.

I mentioned earlier I worked with a guy who seemed normal enough, until he started talking about his dog. He told me “I like to see fear in a grown man’s eyes.”  Um, excuse me???  I don’t know about the dog, but that is a guy who has a dog for all the wrong reasons.

I’ve been bit by a dog once in my life. A friend’s little Schnauzer jumped up and broke the skin on my thigh thru my pants. I was not in fear for my life, but I did consider launching it off the 8th floor balcony. It’s not about how sweet an animal can be, you also have to consider how lethal it can be. If the Schnauzer goes wild, I’ll be OK.

I also have only been bit by a done once in my life, was a little dog as well. I was in 5th grade and waiting at the bus stop when a neighbor was walking the dog. I went to pet it and it bit me in my calf, went right through my pants and had the definitive puncture mark with bruising around it.  Needless to say, I was not traumatized for the rest of my life nor did I ever feel my life was  in danger.

It is a bit disingenuous to try and compare the tiny dog bites with that of a pit.

I saw something today that after the VATech win Syracuse has a +50% chance of getting an at large bid as an 11 seed.  Squarely on the bubble.

I feel like you have been missing from this thread for a bit!

Did you hear anything about what was going on regarding Benny?

  7. I find this topic interesting as I have had a bunch of different types of dogs (never a pit, my friends have had a bunch of pits that I have been around) and havent decided yet.

My experience is I grew up with or have/had several great danes, golden retrievers, a westie, a mini schnauzer and an olde english bull dog (a bull dog and boxer mix, basically trying to breed them back to have less recessive traits like the smushed in face etc.)

My wife's family bred shepherds and boxers when she was growing up. She is in the anti pit bull side and has stories about how agressive one of her shepherds got (basically broke through a window on the second floor and jumped off the garage roof to attack someone and got hurt). She is of the belief that you cant control when something snaps/instinct takes over and the dog does what it was bred to do.

None of the pitts I have been around were ever aggressive or anything more than loving when I was around them. They were super friendly.

Right now, I think my stance is people can own what they want, however they have to be responsible for whatever their dog does in my opinion. Not sure what the laws are or if they vary state by state.

Sneaky length is probably an understatement

He has a 6'6 point guard with great wingspan

    He is tremendously long

Right he is 6'6 but his length seems a lot longer, on his one reverse lay up he had I didn't think it was even possible, like go go gadget arm haha

Quadir is certainly my favorite player on the team! And there are a bunch of likeable guys!

Malik and Copeland will be amazing for the remainder of their SU careers... Bell is a sharpshooter... Judah can get to the paint whenever... JJ is getting hot... We play defense!

Jim boeheim certainly did one thing before he left... He left us with the deepest recruiting class we had in a long time

And we are bringing 5* forward Donnie Freeman and stud guard Elijah Moore

Both fit EXACTLY what we do

I am loving me some Copeland!  He plays with a fire and confidence that others seem to feed off of.  He has some sneaky length and ball handling to him and seems to do whatever is needed.  Just needs to cut down on some turn overs as he tries to get too cute with it some times but he is only going to get better which is kinda awesome

  10. That may have been the best first half I have seen by an SU player with Bell against NC State.

Copeland and Mintz came through in the second half. Big quad 1 win.

    Petty! I bleed Orange!

We just got a quad 1 and quad 2 win!! Top 45 in RPI...

Great defense.... Chris Bell is an NBA shooter with size ... Quadir is a defensive menace... Judah and JJ...

This team is sleepy good... And next year can be a elite 8 team

They def seem to be peaking at the right time! Got to hope we can keep the consistency, but if they get in the tourney I can see them getting to the sweet 16 at least this year

  11. Just watched the game this morning and what a great all around team effort!  I was impressed with how everybody was getting in on the rebounds and at least tipping it away from Bacot. The ball movement on offense was great but really it was all about Starling and Mintz, they were incredible.

Brown and Bell both had good games as well, particularly Bell had a much better effort on the defensive end than normal. Hope he keeps that up
