He has been a troll going back to BBMB, same user name. To answer your question here though, simple answer is attention. Stop giving it to him, I would rather not see his ridiculous posts.

    Cheers 🍻

We're all expecting it to be the toughest division in football - that's the national narrative, and I think most of us have felt that way.  But I'm starting to get 2022 AFC West vibes.

    1) The Jets won 7 games last year.  The conventional wisdom is that they were "just a quarterback away" from contending. But 7 wins is 7 wins.  They added a 40-year-old QB, who - though great - will be behind the worst line in the division.

    2) Miami gave us a tough time last year - but we win the 1st one if it wasn't played in extreme heat, with the visitor sideline getting the brunt of it.  We were up 17-0 in the playoff game and really beat ourselves to make it close.  The only other good team they beat in 2022 was the Ravens. They ended up w/ 9 wins.

    3) As for the Pats, they were bad last year. There is a media narrative that's starting to take hold that they're being overlooked & underestimated - but they have 2 elite players in Judon and Stevenson, and added very little in the offseason to move the needle.  I'm not seeing a team that will break .500 this year.

Maybe this is all just homer rationalization - but I still think the Bills are king in this division, and that it won't be a particularly close race as we get into December.

Weren't two of their wins against Miami without Tua?

  3. Being the angels owner it would be tough to have that label of trading a generational talent.

That said, I think he has to bc I don't see him re-signing there, especially when he says he wants to play on a playoff/winning team. He needs to get something or let him walk with nothing in return.

Now, what's trade compensation look like for getting a player like him with only a guarantee of having him for a playoff push? Tricky situation as baseball doesn't allow negotiation of a new contract prior to trade

No, plenty of times restructures don't need agent or player input of any kind. It's already in the contract.

And that's what happened this year in Martin's case. The Cowboys just pulled the trigger on that part of his contract. He didn't have any choice or input this year. The Cowboys just "executed clauses in two of their biggest contracts."

    https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/lists/cowboys-prescott-martin-restructure-2023/

Doing that, executing that clause, helps the team's cap situation, but it also gives Martin a bit more leverage, as the money is already in his bank account now.

He does get paid plenty for his output by my standards and most standards. Not by NFL elite guard standards, though. The Boys have to live with all of the consequences of their decisions. Having said that, Martin also has to live with all the consequences of his.

He has every right to complain and to hold out if that's what he wants. Makes sense to me to rattle your saber in this kind of situation.

Just playing devils advocate here, but didnt the player/agent know what was in the contract when they signed? So they had already agreed to it

My buddy loves golf! He just had a putting green put in his back yard and I must say it’s pretty sweet. It should be for the cost! (I think his was about $15k.) He doesn’t have a net for full swings but you can chip to the green over the pool which can result in the “BLOOP” noise when the ball hits water, making the experience feel just like my regular golf game. 😋

He’s the kind of guy who always needs the newest thing, so he always has at least four sets of clubs in his garage.  When people come to visit, no clubs is no excuse. He golfs as frequently as possible, while I might go once or twice a year. He gets pissed because I consistently out-drive him and while he beats me, it’s not by that much.

When I go out it seems the golfers always want to gamble. I’m not there to gamble. When gambling comes up I tell them I plan to cheat on every hole. That takes some of the wind out of the gambling sails!

So true! golfers love to gamble, me not so much on golf anyway. We moved into our new house in TN a few years ago and had a pretty good size backyard so convinced the wife that was a good option. Got our kids to like to come out and play (they are 7 and 8).  I dont get to go out and play 18 much with how busy we always are but this still allows me to play and have fun without dedicating a bunch of hours to get a round in.

  6. We had an artificial putting green put in the back yard and a spot to hit into a net to practice full swings. I find that going out and doing that is easier to keep the swing and other things in form without having to go spend hours on a course. Granted you cant practice everything that you will need to do on the course (like inside 100 yards etc) but driving and putting dont get rusty.

I had only played once before going on my buddys golf trip that we do every year, nobody would believe me when I said I was like a 20 handicap (I shot 97 my time out before I went)

Anyone else exctied to see this?

I am, but me being a 40 something I grew up on these video games so that adds a little nostalgic value.

Looks like it may be a fun watch

I will def give it a look! Twisted Metal 2 was so much fun to play (my favorite of the franchise). Samoa Joe as sweet tooth looks like it could be good to, and the other name actors in this seems like they are trying to actually make it work

  8. Probably should have done a poll, but I think its space easily, even if its just based on the opportunity is rarer I would imagine.

While I wouldnt mind either, the whole blasting off seems like it would be fun to travel that fast, and the weightlessness and views would seem to be amazing.

My curiosity for the deep sea stuff is there, like I want to know whats down there, the experience overall just seems like it would be worse. Cramped, not much visibility etc

    That's true.

But answer me this - if the Chiefs didn't think we were going to pick McDuffie, why would they move ahead of us? They could have moved behind us, and not wasted a third rounder. Patriots clearly didn't want a CB (they traded the pick). And GB didnt need one (they went LB). The Titans and Bucs were willing to trade their picks (and did).

They clearly moved ahead of us because they felt we wanted their guy. It's the same reason we moved ahead of Dallas. We had information that they wanted Kincaid.

Probably because they knew we were going to take a cb, and wasnt sure which one, so they went and got the one they wanted
