Yeah, so far I was dead wrong about Joker not looking ready. I really didn’t think he looked ready in the preseason, though. He looked overmatched in his own zone and you weren’t seeing this smooth transition ability he’s known for that we are seeing now. But it just goes to show that we fans only see a small portion of what goes into these roster decisions. He must have been playing pretty well in practices and he’s sure looked pretty good so far in the games. As far as Nylander, I wish him well too. I fully expect that he could put up 20+ goals this season playing along side Patrick Kane. But even if he does, I expect that he will always be one of those maddening, inconsistent players that you KNOW damn well can give more on the ice. A player that disappears for (sometimes long) stretches and doesn’t contribute much else if he’s not adding offense. Who knows, he’s young. His work ethic and willingness to win puck battles could improve. But I wouldn’t bet on it.

Our special teams could certainly use the help and Perry was a leader on that unit and has shown a great ST ability in past seasons.

Looks like Baker did shake his hand after all. Neither guy shakes each other’s hand as enthusiastically as they do with the others. But at worst you can say that Baker (or Sherman?) didn’t lean in for that half hug thing. Looks like it’s a lie to say he didn’t shake his hand (not that I like defending Baker...lol)

Wow, I was kind of hoping for more than a 5th 2 years from now, but it’s better than cutting him for nothing. I can’t imagine there was a very high demand for Zay Jones. I’m actually somewhat surprised Beane got anything.

Much better 2nd period. I really like their response. Columbus was playing with their hair on fire in the 1st. They haven’t won a game yet this year and were fired up. Buffalo didn’t help the cause though. They were on their heels a lot, made a # of unforced errors and just looked sloppy. But they did s great job settling down and getting back to their game in the 2nd. They battled the adversity and got the game tied up. Anxious us to see how they close this out in the 3rd. I would imagine Columbus is going to try and make a push. Let’s see what team is hungrier for the win!

Just watched Bruce Allen’s press conference. I felt like multiple times he seemed to be hinting that he felt Jay Gruden was pretty much the only problem. For example, his answer to a question around the 12min mark of the video (where he talks about how everyone is working their tails off - scouts, front office, all the coaches left now). Curious if anyone else got the same impression. Brutal press conference though.

It’s fun to be in a position where it actually makes sense to consider making a trade before the deadline. We can at least daydream about potential trade There could potentially be some good players available if some of these rumors are true. I wouldn’t want the Bills giving up any prime assets (like a 1st or 2nd) for someone that they only view as a 1/2 season rental. Id be fine with it for a longer term fit though.

An exciting Bills win today. Exciting Sabres wins on Thursday and Saturday. It was s good few days! Bills and Sabres both look like they may have their head coaches, and appear to be on upward trajectories. About damn time! lol
