  1. Yeah, can't imagine that ever happening right? https://ncnewsline.com/2025/01/10/a-federal-appeals-court-will-hear-the-nc-supreme-court-elections-case/ "The federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday said it will hear Republican State appeals court Judge Jefferson Griffin’s elections case, where he’s seeking to invalidate more than 60,000 votes in the race for a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court." Oh.
  2. Given that the MAGA media track record is 99% lies so far, I don't think this happened. Wish we could actually give it a try.
  3. My mistake. I conflated the Los Angeles city budget with the Los Angeles county. Not defund, just stop giving gigantic raises and hold accountable when cops act like power-hungry bellends.
  4. She was under a lot of political pressure to do so. She should not have cut the fire budget, she should have cut it from the police. Los Angeles’ homeless funding is state funding, not city funding.
  5. Why do you absolute drizzling morons have to lie about literally everything? The emissions testing thing was a complete lie. This is why Twitter is no longer a valid source of information. But hey, as long as some jobless loser from Missouri gets to have a check mark to be a special little boy, it’s all good.
  6. I mean that’s all MAGA is. it’s make-believe that they’re fighting some shadow cabal that’s preventing them from living the exact same life they lived in 1955.
  7. You guys are harshing my buzz
  8. Id just like one (1) policy suggestion from you instead of whatever it is you usually write that you think is so smug and clever
  9. What’s this now? More outrage from the king of grifters, Ben Shapiro? What video is he taking wildly out of context?
  10. 1) Double fire department budget and fund mitigation efforts. 2) Incentivize construction of buildings more suitable to the climate such as concrete. 3) Require native species to be planted rather than costly and invasive eucalyptus and other kinds. 4) Roll back beef subsidies. The cattle industry uses more water than any other industry in the United States. what have the Dems done over the past few decades? Please enlighten me. Specific examples.
  11. What would the GOP be doing differently? Why, I’m starting to get the impression that the GOP has no actual solution beyond whining and pointing fingers!
  12. Okay so what would a GOP government do better in this specific situation? Besides whine and throw a tantrum like you, of course.
  13. Maybe police wouldn’t need extra money if they didn’t have to keep paying settlements for their bad aim https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-08-22/protester-shot-by-lapd-projectile-in-2020-mulls-new-future-after-1-25m-settlement Excellent deflection from the topic at hand, though. Sort of like how you never answered yesterday’s question about what GOP policies would be more successful in fighting wildfires than what is currently underway.
  14. Do you ever offer an actual argument or is this about it?
  15. No, the police did not need additional funding at the cost of fire funding.
  16. Is Soros in the room with us right now?
  17. We used to have institutions for people like this! Guy needed a straitjacket.
  18. Exactly. Should have been the other way around. Maybe the police can use their new “protest obliterator 9000 tanks” on the fires
  19. They had no problem giving the stupid police more money. Why is that?
  20. “given the circumstances” The architecture is all wrong for this area. The newer builds using concrete and metal roofs are surviving. The old 1950s bungalows built en masse are not.
  21. Aristocrat specifically called out the chief as a DEI hire. I think they would have done a better job preparing for it if their budget didn’t get slashed. Further, there’s not a lot you can do when you have houses that are not built for this climate located next to invasive (and flammable!) eucalyptus trees in a desert climate. I think they are doing a good a job as they can given the circumstances.
  22. What would you like them to do differently to fight these fires, specifically? This has nothing to do with the fire chief’s qualifications. I’m simply stomping @aristocrat’s claim that she was an unqualified DEI hire into the mud.
  23. Insane conspiracy nut attempts to fight the law, this does not go well.
  24. Crowley has been on the force for 22 years and has risen through the ranks from a firefighter and paramedic to Battalion Chief to Deputy Chief and so forth. Do you think they just handed the job to some Starbucks barista?
  25. Why is the LA County fire captain automatically not qualified for the job then?
