I really expected AWill to retire anyway...
Would have liked to keep Gilly but not for anything like that money.
Genuinely bummed about Woods though. That guy will play for a long time.
Woods is SUCH a great guy to have on your team
He plays with so much passion and love for the game
Everybody should take his approach

This was a sad morning as a bills fan
Today, the Bills lost 3 of my favorite players from the drought
Stephon Gilmore, Bob Woods and Aaron Williams
Aaron God Bless man and I hope you stay in good health for the rest of your life, just hang um up and call it quits man, you earned it
Stephon Gilmore who has been a scapegoat of the Bills for years.. all he did was practice everyday, keep his mouth shut, and play... Was he the best? No... But we are gonna miss his talents and it's a double whammy he's in new england
And Bob Woods. The consummate professional.. His crafty route running, sure hands and physical blocking as been an intregal part of our team for years.. he never asked for the ball, or complained he didn't get it.. he just busted his ass for years and I might miss him the most
I hope we have a plan in place because we are gonna miss these guy's, and so am I
Good luck guys... Besides Gilmore... I can't even wish him luck in NE

I hope watson is still in play for us.
However, unless Adams or Hooker are there at 10; try like heck to trade down.
If not, I strongly consider taking Williams or Davis, if not the best DL on the board.
Watson was interviewed
-
Disagree that QB is out at 10.
So: Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, Mahomes, Davis, Williams, Foster, Lattimore, Hooker, or Adams would make sense.
Did not interview Kizer, Lattimore, hooker or adams yet
Whoever the Bills select will the #10 pick I can guarantee you 1 thing... It will be a player that the Bills interviewed
With the Tyrod Taylor restructure, I say we do not go QB at 10 so those prospects are out
So what prospects does that leave us with at the tenth overall pick?
Mike Williams- 6'3 225 LBs
The big, long, physical receiver is plenty gifted. While he doesn't possess top end speed or nuanced route running he excells at winning at the LOS and when the ball is in the air. Uncanny ability to win 50-50 balls
Jabril Peppers- 5'11 215
Michigan's Swiss army knife has played safety, linebacker, RB and returned punts and kicks for Michigan. But he projects as a in the box, blitzing SS at the NFL level.. while he doesn't possess great ball skills he sells his body out in the run willing to give his body up to keep gap contain
Solomon Thomas- 6'3 275LBs
The Stanford product is one of the most versatile and intriguing prospects in the draft.. if he had a bit more length he would easily project as a top 5 player.. Thomas is built very well with great thickness that will allow him to play in either 43 or 34 schemes.. he has an all day motor that doesn't quit and flashes all pro potential.. needs to work in leverage
I believe we also interviewed the long, tall CB from Washington, Sidney Jones
At the end of the day I'm hoping we pull the trigger on Mike Williams or Solomon Thomas if available
Preferably Thomas who has all pro potential and I think will give us a young , fierce line that is versatile and punishes teams
-
** This is based on who we interviewed**
** Not who I'd take at 10 with more available**

Ughhh but we need a WR sooo bad!!
Williams or Corey Davis please!!

He is a CB1 by every possible metric.
Gilmore is just a scapegoat
He literally let's up less than 4-5 TDs a year but he's a bum
Is he the best? No
But we are gonna miss him
-
I took your posting literally and now my guts are spilling out. What do I do? Is there a ritual chant that will bring me back to health? Or am I doomed?
Oh sh!T
You are definitely screwed bro!
Im gonna miss you

His offense needs a QB that can read the defense pre snap, and throw with anticipation. Two things Taylor cant do. 3,5, 7 step drops, rollouts etc. You do NOT Need a "Mobile" QB for this system. Hell Peyton Freaking Manning did rollouts and he cant run the 20 in 5 minutes!!
Stop already.
As a bridge QB, damn straight he could
Peyton manning was in the system for 1 year and has the worst year of his career outside his rookie yearHis offense needs a QB that can read the defense pre snap, and throw with anticipation. Dennison wants a mobile guy
He is a Shanahan disciple
Shanahan ALWAYS loved a mobile QB
Elway- Mobile
-Jake Plummr - mobile
Bob Griese- Mobile
Jay Cutler- Mobile
RG3 - Mobile

We may finally see the yac skills of Sammy....
Can i get an amen

Just wanted to say thanks to those on here who have allowed us BBMB members to come over. I'm typically the type to read more than I post but I'm just glad to have somewhere to discuss our football team again. Was over there for about 2.5 years but I'm looking forward to being a member here for the future.
Glad to see you made it over here man

If I was GM of the Bills...
I'd commit ritual seppuku because I dishonored my ancestors with bad play on the field
(I was a history major... It's a samurai joke not to be taken seriously)
-
I lurked forever, then joined and started posting. I wanted it clear that while I may not be the X and O guy some are, or the draft expert, I was born the year the Bills were and have been going since I was a small kid at the Rockpile. Being new didn't make me ignorant. (That was just a coincidence! )
Rock on brother
The rock pile is where the glory started
-
I've enjoyed reading your takes. Glad you're here bud.
Thanks bud
That mean more to me than you think
I (and a bunch others) were at BBMB for YEARS so I was reluctant to join
I'm glad I did
-
Ahh, respect is earned. Well done.
(Until I disagree with you next time. Haha)
I'm a bit under the influence right now... That should let my true knowledge shine even brighter because I'm not making a fool of myself
What I meant was I have to give you guys respect and I'll receive it in turn
-
"My maker" are you trying to make this about religion???? I can see why you were cautious.
The only problem with the current contract situation as I understand it, is there isn't really a path to one more year to vindicate. It's move on or commit to at least $30 mil worth of seasons.
Btw how rough was this other forum. I bet they even discouraged sarcasm...
I was never banned and recieved a few infractions there over the years but I tried to follow the CoC and most was good
-
I appreciate itI love the reasonable nature here! You earlier said he's top 20 (which I believe), but he's not "the answer". So many people need to take one extreme or the other. Haters and defenders. I'll defend the guy, to a point, but I'd love to have a TRUE FRANCHISE QB. They're hard to come by, but you never stop looking. In the meantime, you don't dump a guy better than 1/3 of the league, with nothing behind him. It seems so obvious to me that I often wonder what I'm missing.
Trying to show you guys I know what I'm talking about
Respect is earned
-
I like the way you put that down.
Thank you sir
My schtick has always been trying to be 100% real but unbiased
-
i get it. and i agree to a point. he was good enough to win a lot of the games we lost IF the defense/special teams/kicker/coach was better. but, there were a lot of games where i just couldn't help but think that good enough is just not good enough. and another way to look at top twenty, is tenth from the bottom. like i said, i really, really like tyrod. maybe with the right coaching in the right system, he is plenty good enough, but when the system fails...you need THE GUY.
I agree with you completely
And I don't like to talk negatively about TT because he is such a humble guy
But IMO as you stated...
When system crumbles or the day isnt going your way... THE GUY can put his team on his back and make players around him better
I think TT is a good football player
But not the answer
-
Im new here so im being cautious with my postsi really like tyrod, and want him to succeed. but the inaccuracies, lack of timing, and inability to use the middle of the field really, really concern me.
But I've lived the game my whole life being the son of a coach and I really understand the "nuances"
I've grown colder on TT but I realize he is far from the sole reason we don't win consistently
And he is a top 20 QB In the NFL
My old man who taught me everything still is willing to give Tyrod 1 more year because he still sees promise
Who am I to argue with my maker
-
isn't that the guy we have and may or may not be trying to get rid of?
I just want the Bills to win and don't care if we win with Donky Kong or Alexander the Great behind center
But yes
When we hired Dennison I thought immediately it was a sign they were going to stick with Tyrod and try to build around him
-
well then, i have to ask the obvious question...who (or what type) is the best suited qb to run this offense?
Honestly...
A smart , mobile QB who moves the chains and doesn't turn the ball over
Yet can push the ball downfield when presented
-
With Rick Dennison taking over as offensive coordinator of the Bills , there will be a change in philosophy on the offensive side
So what does that mean for our offense?
Rick Dennison is a Mike Shanahan disciple.
I fully expect to see a modified shannahanesque mobile WCO suited for the 21st century
Meaning a bunch of zone runs, stretch runs and off tackles
Masked with naked boots, playactions and waggles
Throw in RB cross screen's and WR play action bubble screen's and you have a modern version of a mobile WCO suited for the Bills and ready to succeed in the NFL
I'm excited to see how it plays out
-
Personally ,every time I scored a TD , I dropped it in the end zone and ran to the sideline
Or handed it to a ref if he was close
Celebrate with your teammates, that's why you are probably in the end zone
-
I love TD Mike
But
This is a very very deep RB class
I can see good ones falling to round 4-5 with really good talent
I need to Vent

But we lost a super talented top 10 pick
And 2 top end second round picks
Those are premium players you draft, so you retain them
