Joe Brady has chosen to remain as the Bills OC for another year
Chugga replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love the fact that he’s staying. That being said it isn’t just because he loves the Bills. It’s also a zero risk situation. He is the OC for a team with a generational talent at QB. His offense isn’t going to randomly collapse and take him out of the running for jobs next year. The potential Bengals, Dolphins, and Falcons jobs are way more attractive than what he had left for options this year. More talented OCs should take the Ben Johnson approach and wait for an opening where your skills can shine. And maybe win a couple SBs as a coordinator in the meantime. -
I actually don’t think Lamar has a playoff problem anymore. I think the Ravens do. I truly believe what gives the Chiefs an edge every year is they never play to prove anything to anyone. When Tyreek left and the national media said their passing game might have died, Mahomes wasn’t trying to pass for 400 yards to prove people wrong. When the world thought Kelce might be washed they didn’t get him a 200 yard game to prove a point they use him when needed. The Bills have FINALLY adopted this way of thinking. In the past I believe the legacy of Josh depended on Josh throwing on his cape every game. But the Bills didn’t leave Josh in too long in games or funnel TDs his way to prove he’s the MVP. They just played bills football and kept winning. The Ravens have seemingly always listened to the national media WAY too much and in turn let it dictate their play. Lamar was throwing in the 4th quarter of blowouts to prove he was worthy of an MVP. The last two times the Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs they came into the game with the top rushing attack in the league and then put the ball in Lamar’s hands to prove he was an elite passer. If the Ravens just stuck to their running game last year they likely would have beaten the Chiefs. And if they just kept using Henry & Hill against the Bills I hate to say it but they probably win. But the Ravens want to prove he’s that guy. So they abandon their strength during the biggest times in the biggest spots to prove a point. Meanwhile every year Mahomes throws for relatively average numbers and strolls his way into a Super Bowl every year with those numbers. While the national media questions if Burrow is the new goat, or Allen, or Lamar…the WHOLE time Mahomes is casually posting pedestrian numbers and winning SBs. While everyone else tries to prove their worth he adds to his trophy case. The Bills have seemingly adopted this approach and I think it’s what gets us to take the next step this year.

It’s kind of ironic because when I originally made this thread it was because I felt like Lamar was going to get unfairly torn apart by the national media and every corner of the sports world for his playoff mistakes. But here we are Wednesday evening and somehow he’s come out of this game kinda unscathed. Never saw this coming

The current Lions feel very much like the 2021 Bills. 2021 felt like our best chance at a Super Bowl. We were dominant in the regular season and the whole league was looking at both of our coordinators to be head coaches. After an absolutely heartbreaking early playoff exit, that offseason we lost Daboll and it felt like maybe we missed our shot. For the sake of the Lions and their fans I hope they are able to reload like we have been able to.

The national media narrative since the Bills won
Chugga replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Todays talking points are just like last years/this years MVP. If this is how you are going to judge things moving forward then I’m 100% on board. If we are going to give QBs grace for making mistakes and stop the narrative of “what have they won” to decide every argument when only one team a year can win it and we are smack dab in the middle of a dynasty. Then I welcome this new era of sports talk and I embrace the new positivity that hosts will be bringing. But something tells me that just like the MVP race, the story hasn’t actually changed. It’s just the goal posts have moved. If Allen doesn’t win the Super Bowl this year and doesn’t throw on his cape at all times I would find it terribly hard to believe that he will be given the same amount of grace I’ve seen Lamar receive today. -
Bass deserved a game ball today. That 50+ yarder couldn’t have been more solid.

I changed the thread title to make it more accurate for you

I think due to the MVP race and the medias attempt to make it bills vs ravens fans for the last 5-8 weeks I think generally speaking there is a lot of hatred for lamar and certainly a downplaying of his skills to lessen his credibility as the MVP. I think if Lamar won the game the board would have been filled with “how did we lose to a RB at QB posts”. So yeah I do think it doesn’t jive with the majority of opinions.

I don’t think he outplayed Josh specifically due to the two turnovers. What I will say is his offensive coordinator treated him like the MVP of the league and it’s what allowed them to almost make the comeback. Our offensive coordinator did not treat Josh like the MVP and it showed.

I’ve been holding onto this all season. But I like Lamar. I love the way he plays. I don’t think he should have won the MVP last year and don’t think he should this year. I also don’t think he’s on the same tier as Josh (and Pat). But he seems like a cool dude and unfortunately due to circumstances Ravens/Bills fans are forced to fight. Even his quote from the other day saying he isn’t friends with QBs he wants to win (I kinda want my QB to have that old school mentality). Sucks that the playoff choker narrative will stick to him. But I’d rather it be on him than Josh. Hats off to the Ravens, I’ve been confident, but their run game has scared me all week. Go Bills

Second half goals 1. Need to stay aggressive on offense to make the Ravens one dimensional 2. Continue to shut down the run so Lamar has to beat you with his arm WE HAVE DONE NEITHER. Come on guys -
