So awesome to see a tight end make a contested catch
-
So you’re saying there’s a chance
-
Which is so crazy because when I look at this offense at times it seems overly simple and bland
-
Josh Allen saving Dorsey’s job again.
-
Say what you will about the defense but they have been absolutely ravaged by injuries and have kept games close. What is the offenses excuse?
-
Brief reminder. This is the easy part of our schedule
-
Sure handed Knox. Glad we got him locked up for a few more years.
-
I liked a few of the things that Dorian was doing. Not sure why he’s out
-
I said it in the 1st half thread and I’ll say it again now. Cook needs to be on the field. Murray should only be in for him to catch his breath. And honestly I’m leaning towards that same thought with Kincaid and Knox
-
And you have faith in our coaching staff to have a different outcome? I don’t
-
Craziest thing is we played almost this exact same team and we didn’t punt once.

Wow

Daboll wasn’t perfect either. He had some lulls in his playcalling (I’ll never forget Jaguars 9-6). And then he’d change 1 thing and it would fix everything. He’d run Josh. And when Josh ran it opened up RPOs, it opened up playaction, it opened up running lanes. I don’t think we “unleash” Allen’s arm because that can get messy. But maybe we start utilizing those legs again. I know it’s a risk but we look putrid on offense.

This offense is so wild. A couple of years ago if it was 3rd and 25 against the best defense in the league I’d be like “we got this”. Now it can be 3rd and 2 against the worst defense in the league and I’m having legit concerns we have any hope of getting it.
-
But sometimes you have to take the bad with the good and give him the opportunity to improve. We do it with Josh
-
The process will always be trusted. Nothing will happen.

James Cook was so explosive the first few weeks. I’m glad to see we have decided to bench him. It makes for more interesting games

In retrospect, was letting McKenzie go a mistake?

Add Harty to the list. Harty, Hines, Sherfield, Crowder, Kincaid. Signings or draft picks that were brought in for a specific reason then go on to get almost zero usage. I used to get excited at a speedy or gadget signing but none of those guys have been worked into the gameplan. Harty is just 2022’s Nyheim Hines. -
We drafted a TE that was supposed to be a do it all slot slash tight end. Shakir was also drafted to be a slot WR. Last year it was Crowder until he got injured. This year I thought Sherfield or maybe Harty in gadget situations. I agree we need one but other than Beasley I haven’t seen one that Josh has trusted or used.

Davis and Knox better take their vitamins. Any coach with half a brain (and Belicheck certainly has way more than that) can see you just have to try to remove Diggs and let someone else on the Bills win the game for them. Pats will definitely try to take him away and even though it should be an easy win I don’t have faith that it will be.

The 49ers lost to the Browns today. So you can never take a win for granted. With that being said I think a lot of the fire that you get from this board isn’t about today or tomorrow or even next week. During the drought years I lived and died each Sunday with this team. I couldn’t even think about the playoffs, getting there was accomplishment enough. But this team is different. They are in their Super Bowl window so when you are struggling mightily with the same things each week that’s the concern. Our offense has problems. This isn’t a playoff offense. You can’t run shotgun draws with your season on the line. You can’t line up in shotgun on 3rd and short. You can’t be inches away from the goalline and come out in pistol. You can’t abandon the run game and suddenly remember it 2 quarters later. That doesn’t win playoff games.

Through the drought years I hated watching beloved bills players walk in free agency but we gotta start letting people go see their market value. No one was going to pay Dawson Knox 12.5 million a year. NO ONE. It worked for Poyer he sadly found out the hard way that the market wasn’t there. Knox would have found out the same thing and likely come back to the team on a more friendly deal (which I would have loved). But he’s a million a year away from making Mark Andrews money. Thats wild.
-
I don’t mind Knox. I hate what we paid him. He’s underutilized in our offense and when we try to utilize him you start to see why we don’t throw to TEs. 3-5 million a year and I love Knox. But dude is making 12.5 a year for this production and reliability. Thats insanity
-
Agreed. In big moments we need to have a game plan and I don’t think we had one on our last drive. If you’re going for the FG then run it 3 times. If you’re going for the win then let Josh loose. But playing some weird middle ground gave the giants a short field and a time out. It’s one or the other they don’t get both.

McDermott is coaching his ass off for this hobbled injury plagued defense. Dorsey’s seat should be so hot I don’t know how he can sit
