  1. To be clear ... I know like most of us .. I will be yelling for (or at) the Bills all game long ..... BUT

Was the Minnesota game a dream?

As the other games were nightmares ... given what I've seen in those nightmares .. offensively I don't see us keeping pace with many teams this year but I like what I see by the defense of late  ... based on 4 games .. it appears you can run on the Titans who are ranked 25th in rushing defense (yards per game) .. but in points per game allowed they are 6th with 18 points per game (though played Jax, Hou, Miami, and Philly last week .. sans Philly not exactly offensive juggernauts).

We can't pass given the WR's .. we'll see if we can run (does Shady get the reps??) .. but the Titans win in OT last week against Philly the defending SB champs was huge .. so

unfortunately if I placed the bet .. I'd take Titans minus the 3.5 in Vegas

    Titans - 20

    Bills - 9 (3 FG's)

The biggest mistake McB made this offseason was not acquiring a decent veteran mentor qb. And No, neither Peterman nor McCarron qualify.  Now he's got to be forced into the fire with a lousy offensive line &  wide receiver group. I also blame Daboll for bizarre play calling in the LA & GB games.

Yes .. this is the biggest fault of the "Trust the Process" Regime .. OL, WR not withstanding ... Allen is the Franchise .. and he gets to ask Peterman (our only Veteran QB) for advice in the film room, practice, etc.   Really?   Mahomes has a year of Alex Smith, McCown is helping Darnold, Bradford with Rosen, and can't believe I'm saying this Baker has Tyrod.

    Take your pick:

    5. OG Michael Jordan, Soph. Ohio State

At 6-7 and 312 pounds, Jordan is like a big offensive tackle working at guard. With his massive size and his run blocking ability – he erases everything in front of him – he’s ready for the NFL now. But he’ll have to wait one more year. For now, he’ll get to blast away for one of the nation’s best backfields.

    4. OG Beau Benzschawel, Sr. Wisconsin

Go ahead and throw the names of all five Badger offensive linemen in a bag, pull one out, and you might just have the best blocker in college football. The 6-4, 317-pound versatile Benzschawel could kick outside at tackle if needed, but he has locked down the right guard spot for the last few years. He’ll join Michael Deiter to give the Badgers the best interior blockers in college football.

    3. OG Nate Herbig, Jr. Stanford

Gigantic, the 6-4, 348-pounder is very big, very strong, and very good at carrying the weight well. The best interior blocker on another great Cardinal line, it’s just job to do the heavy lifting for Bryce Love and the great ground game. If needed, he can move to center, too, but he’ll be too tough to replace at guard.

    2. C Ross Pierschbacher, Sr. Alabama

While he’s not the star that Jonah Williams is at tackle, the 6-4, 301-pounder is the leader of another great front five. Able to play guard, he’ll end up starting at center after earning all-star honors last year. He started out his career as a smallish but terrific starter at left guard, and that’s where he’ll likely be at the next level. But some teams will try him out at center, too.

    1. OT/OG Michael Deiter, Sr. Wisconsin

There might be better guards, better centers, and better tackles, but no one is better at being a possible all-star at any of the three positions. He could be a next-level left tackle option with a bit more work – he started on the outside last year – or he can be a star at left guard.

At 6-6 and 321 pounds, he’s got the prerequisite mass for a Badger blocker, and now he’ll dominate on the inside. If needed, he’ll move one step over and see time at center, too – which is where he’ll likely end up playing in the NFL.

Thank you sir .. may I have another

This reason is part of the reason I wish the Bills would build a dome. It's not like the weather plays into our advantage seeing as most players come from the south. It would stop this non-sense we need to run the ball to be successful in Buffalo.  Also, 7 out of the 20 games McBeane have under their belt in this regime, the Bills have lost by 20+ points.

    That' scary bad.

Please no ... part of the history of the Bills is the weather .. indoor teams are panzies (see Detroit, Indy, Cowboys, Texans, Arizona)

  5. Time for the Bills version of the Smurfs (Old Redskins WR adage for those scratching their heads) .. take Allen to three step drops since he appears to be struggling on 7 step drops and turning into defenders and have him hammer throws on quick slants/bubble screens to Ray Ray, Zay, Holmes, Foster (let them create after the catch) .... Bench Benjamin since he's too tall to be a Smurf, though his hands are blue (aka ice cold).

Im getting the same feeling i had last week when i said Allen would have a big day in the gameday first half thread and also took him in fanduel. This week i see KB coming up big and proving all his critics wrong. So the question is if he shows out this sunday will those same h eat their own words..

I'll gladly take the under ... last week was his best week of the season ...  3 catches for 29 yards ... not exactly #1 material.  For a guy playing for a big contract ... he is going the wrong direction.

The last 2 weeks are what happens when you quit on talent as the above statistics from Sunday shows.

Like I wrote last year, Beane and McDermott got duped by Carolina on Benjamin. He is even on the injury report

again this week. Jones made 1 long catch after he bobbled the ball. I guess running around naked with blood

on his body didn't make him a better WR.

Thanks for the discipline Sean and Beane.

    Foreigner aka Mick Jones/Lou Gramm

Your Urgent Posts on former Bills WR's seems Hot Blooded. I know after an 0-2 start and our current WR crew, its a Blue Morning, Blue Day, but when you look at the contracts both Woods ($34MM) and Sammy Signed ($45MM), its like Double Vision.   You put those numbers on our Cap space and you'd be playing Head Games.  Don't get me wrong, I liked Woods, moreso than paying Sammy, but That was Yesterday.    I know the current roster is a Long Long Way From Home, but we have a new Juke Box Hero with Josh Allen.

  8. This is really is a dismal report to digest  .. in terms of 4 of the top 5 are on defense .. which has been blown out (aka a turnstile to the end zone) in the red zone .. net of 2nd half last week ... so how does that defense have 4 of the top 5 players on the team ... woof that really says something about the offense side of the ball if you can't outball what the defense has done thus far.

Youth movement ... forget Kelvin, Clay, OL .. play the younger players

  9. Older article as some have resigned Lewan and Matthews who were #1 and #2 .. but here are the 2019 FA's ... thoughts?

    3. Duane Brown, Seattle Seahawks
    4. Daryl Williams, Carolina Panthers
    5. Rob Havenstein, Los Angeles Rams

The emphasis placed on established veterans over promising prospects is greater than ever as the collegiate game struggles to produce ready-made offensive linemen. As such, contracts for blockers have skyrocketed the last few years, and the growth should continue with two of the game's better young left tackles, Lewan and Matthews, potentially available in 2019.

Duane Brown, on the other hand, can still land a massive payday—Andrew Whitworth and Nate Solder did despite their ages.

Williams and Havenstein are right tackles.

    Guard

    1. Ali Marpet, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    2. Shaq Mason, New England Patriots
    3. Quinton Spain, Tennessee Titans
    4. Mike Iupati, Arizona Cardinals
    5. Jack Mewhort, Indianapolis Colts

Guard isn't as glamorous as tackle, but the price tags for some of the league's best interior blockers rival their counterparts. Marpet should be the next to receive a large check because he can excel at both guard spots and center.

Mason is one of the game's best run-blockers, while Spain is 26 years old with 27 starts over the last two seasons.

Iupati and Mewhort could be higher on the list if not for their injury histories.

    Center

    1. Matt Paradis, Denver Broncos
    2. Mitch Morse, Kansas City Chiefs
    3. Brett Jones, New York Giants
    4. Travis Swanson, New York Jets
    5. Nick Easton, Minnesota Vikings

Center doesn't present the same depth as guard and tackle, but Paradis is an underappreciated and reliable option with 48 starts over the last three seasons

Morse is younger and more physically gifted, yet he dealt with a foot injury in 2017 and needs to return to form.

Jones, Swanson and Easton have all started and have enough flexibility to play guard.

    .

    6) Offensive line change needs consideration
    - For the second straight week, the offensive line was an issue for the Buffalo Bills. While it's tough to know who excelled on a play-to-play basis without seeing the end zone angle of the coaches film, what you can draw from an initial viewing is terrible reps in which the lineman looks lost. For the second straight week, right guard John Miller looked as though he was just a step too slow and a step behind to recognize delayed pressure, which has blown up far too many plays through only two weeks. While it's a difficult thing for any coach to decide when enough is enough and to replace a player that convinced them through the summer that they'd be able to do the job, the Bills should give serious consideration to letting the fifth-round rookie guard Wyatt Teller take over at right guard. Miller is on the last year of his rookie contract, and likely doesn't have a future in Buffalo past 2018 given his level of play in both 2017 and 2018. Teller is a player still with four years left on a manageable contract, and the Bills owe it to themselves to figure out if he can be a part of their long-term solution on the offensive line in a year that they have all but admitted is going to be a down one. Miller had a solid season back in 2016 -- his second year -- but we're slowly but surely finding out that it may have been an anomaly. Teller could represent future gains and a potential answer -- and really, it can't get much worse at right guard. The time to start Teller is now. "

Not for nothing, but if Teller is better than the 1 of the 2 other guys I think he would be starting.

I dont understand how some think they can watch a game on TV and think they are better talent evaluators than the coaches in the NFL.

Art ... Holy Crap ... apparently Joe B only watches the game from TV as well .. what a photoshop he does from the stadium .... he's Buffalo's version of David Copperfield

Sorry Art ... guess threads are meant to nod your head up and down to what the Bills do ... it was a change up ? .. was curious for others thoughts .. getting them .. but to think that those of us who watch football can't throw out a different opinion ... guess you still want Peterman as well ... assuming given your tag you live in Cali "malibu" ... chill.
