I can't see that the mayor was being a defeatist by stating his optimism for the citysurviving the departure of it's beloved bills. While I would be angry, I think the city needs to worry about other things that it does have control over (which ain't much). No use in keeping a mercedes in the driveway and living under a leaky roof. Although I don't know if the bills could actually be compared to a mercedes at this point and the city sure has more than a leak in the roof! Oh, I no longer live in the city so just my outside once lived in buffalo opinion.

It seems as if he really got hosed by the GM at the time Hatley who had some questionable if not plan bad draft picks, and was then fired three seasons into his coaching term. Then Angelo came in and expected the playoffs with I think marginal talent. The season after that 13-3 finish they had the most injuries in the NFL that year and the next they just had a horrible team. Look at the rosters each year and judge for yourself. Also funny that we have so many of the players from Jaurons years in chi-town.

Okay gotta start my own little rant dammit. First thing, mark campbell is an okay TE but he makes too many mistakes, is only an ok blocker or misses some blocks and doesn't have great seperation skills to get open, so hopefully the drafting of everett will pay off next year as he is at the very least a very athletic TE. Josh Reed has lost his confidence and I don't know why he is still on the team. Cut the man and move the fug on PLEASE. Jerry Gray needs a different team with different players to run his system. I just see all the fire TD stuff as well, not a solution. Who hired TD, or let other GM's go? Should TD be fired, hell yeah and I wish the guy would be a success but he's not. Then who do we get? Another GM from where? I want a winner and unless we can get the pats GM (hate to say it) then it doesn't matter. Yeah AJ has done great, but SD while fun to watch at times is not a superbowl contender! Polian has finally got most if not all the peices to the puzzle in indy but they haven't won the big one yet. Also I'll just say that when clarett checked in at the curb in denver, and was told by one of my fellow skycaps that he was "looking forward to seeing him run this year, what happened man" clarett of course took the low low low road, and said " I F--ked shannys wife". A real class act huh. I can understand the dissappointment but the comment was pretty stupid. So I say no!

I know some don't consider this stat that much and of course it's still pre-season, but just imagine how good our defense will be if we can control the ball more. Last week 33min bills and 27min colts. This week was 36min to 24min advantage for the bills. Keep our defense rested and they will destroy teams all day long!

Ahhhh thanks brandon! The list that I looked at had sullivan as a rt. Freeny wasn't considered a can't miss product and many people wonder about his size if i remember. But they should have picked him if they thought he would be as good as he is. This is the reason why I say also blame the scouts and or coaches. But of course it all comes back to TD, it's just easier that way I guess. But I think our scouts dropped the ball too.

Hard to believe are you kidding? Why would another team want to have the #4 pick. You gotta have someone who wants someone to move up and pick higher. There was nobody worth doing it for in that draft. Also if it was a bad pick, then who could we have drafted?? freeny I believe plays the same position as schobel who we had just drafted the year before. Roy williams at saftey would have been good but a couple slots lower. Why would someone just say hey will help you guys out. If your gonna say it's a bad pick, ok then. But blame the scouts also and not just TD. Both are responsible! To pass on the pick would just be foolish and you know it. That just says you don't like TD which is fine cause I have problems with him to, but come on. You and every other bills fan would have ripped his head off at the neck if he would have just passed on the pick!

Did some research and Roy williams looked like the next best player that would have filled a need. Also I think the bills were talking about picking him up, but wanted to move down a few slots to do so. I don't think there have been many safties picked top five in the last 10 years so we still would have been shelling out the doe although we probably would have a more productive player in williams, but still a big risk. Also marques sullivan was our rt, so I could see wanting an upgrade. Jonas was playing left already. I think the o-line coach at the time mentioned putting jonas at center and big mike eventually at left, but that's why that coach and coaches are not here anymore. Also schobel played rde and I think so does freeny, so I couldn't really see why we would have drafted freeny other than he's a freakin monster. The bills were not really in the position to do best availabe at that time. But if freeny could play lde, then he would have been a good pick also?

Who played rt for us the year before drafting Big mike?? What I'm getting at is I don't see the argument to say this was a mistake. if I remember correctly we needed to upgrade the o-line, by getting a left tackle first (mckinney was the best option and he hasn't done anything). The bills instead decided to get a right tackle in big mike. But i think were all assuning they wanted to switch him to the left side. Were assuming they could have just traded the pick, and I can't see how we give him less than what he got considering he was slotted to make that money? So I can't imagine what else would have been done? The pick at the time seemed great, but for the money now seems bad. That's why there are no sure bet draft picks, at least not many. I'll have to look and see who else we could have taken!

I would have to agree with everything you said CD, I looked at the game on tape also and was really dissapointed with CV and Big mike. It's funny though because I believe it was last year when we played tenny in pre-season that I thought the same things about those two. CV got bullrushed several times, big mike looked slow and missed blockers all together at times. Yet when the season started these guys looked great, so who knows maybe they are just slow starters?

Well LA I really didn't have enough money to finish my chemistry degree at the university of colorado, and since I was just 17 when I graduated form hutch-tech but living on the east side of buffalo I didn't have the financial backing from my single parent mom, nor did we really get into scholarship or grant info. I was just happy to be accepted to a university. Even when I got to boulder, colorado it wasn't exactly a comfortable environment. LOL. The reason I said all this is becuase I could see some using all this as an excuse to say they got a raw deal and skycapping is the best job they could get, and they still don't make enough money. People don't tip enough ect. ect. The truth is skycapping is a pretty good job compared to what's out there and even though I have to report tips (all of them of course ) I make enough to get by and if I wanted to I could make a way to do better somewhere else if needed. Livin in buffalo of course makes you tough like that! So it's all good man!

Actually I'm judging the one's who KNOW that we accept tips because our company expects us to be compensated in such manner, and so instead of taking upon themselves to take there own bags out of the car and to check themselves in inside, they find it much easier and quicker to come to a skycap. Well easy and quick are not free! That's just the way it is. If a person is upfront and tells me they don't have a dime to spare, I make sure to check them in and take care of the bags just the same. My point is if you or anyone else doesn't find a need for skycap service, that's acceptable as we see companies and services that eventually are eliminated due to customers not needing them. But when you want my service for free, because neither the company nor the customer feels like they should pay, then that is wrong. Again I know that I chose to become a skycap so that's why I rarely bring it up. But the topic is interesting!

MBD a $1 a bag is very acceptable. $2 a bag if you feel like the cap helped a little more like taking the bags out of the car or giving you some time saving information. But $1 a bag is good.

Interesting topic! I don't usually post but since I work as a skycap I thought I would give a little insight on the subject. The company I work for pays skycaps $2.13hr, not $5.15, $6, $8, or $10, but $2.13. Also we are not allowed to make it known we take tips, so we end up taking alot of stiffs. As long as I have been skycapping I have learned one thing that is universal for those who take tips, and that is some people are just too stingy to do so. They will make every excuse, argument, or stubborn attempt not to tip. Well since it was of my own doing that I chose to become a skycap this is something I must except. But for the life of me what I can't or won't understand is why these "neverwannatip'ers" don't take there bags inside and check in themselves - it's easy and tip free! As a skycap I wouldn't mind having only a few people check in with me but tipped me for my service. Eventually if nobody wanted to use skycap service because we take tips, then I would find another job. The company I work for has no medical plan, has no sick days, no insurance plan, one week paid vacation at $5.15 an hr, and we get the standard 30 min lunch break. So there are no frills, it's all about the money. If you don't want to tip me fine, you can check yourself in inside, but the people that want to use our service for free when they could do it themselves are aholes!
