The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Chef Jim replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I suck? No sir. I asked a serious question. And I'll ask a third time seeing you have a hard time answering it. I seriously want to know "what did Obama do to prepare us for this?" And according to the video you linked it he talked about it back in 2004. Great for having a vision. But what did he do about it? -

And there it is folks. I ask an honest question of: What did Obama do about it? And the answer is. TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP. YOU'RE A RACIST. It's getting real tiresome guys. So I'll say it again. Bravo on Obama for saying we need to get prepared. And I'll ask it again @BillStime What did he do to prepare? -

Very good words by Obama. He said some very good and spot things. But what did he do about it? -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

My conclusion is this. 1) You are charting 6 out of 195 countries so it is very limited. 2) It oversimplifies a very complex situation. I know your conclusion shows that 2 out of 3 run by women show very low amount of cases. First Germany seems relatively high and second what are the testing rates of the other two. That is a VERY important variable in this wouldn't you agree? -
The Mizzou/Yale/PC/Free Speech Topic
Chef Jim replied to FireChan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Regarding the pendulum swing. The pendulum of public consensus is not a wild swing. It is a slight swing from left to right which means it finds itself mostly in the middle. The extremes are the ones that get all the attention however but they are in the vast minority. The percentage of the public that thinks a kid cartoon about teamwork is bad because it shows the police dog as a good character has to be VERY low. -
We would love to have these discussions. But it's very hard to have a reasonable discussion when someone comes in and the "first words" out of his mouth are: "YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF SCUMBAG RACISTS!!!" Not the best way to endear yourself to the community and start an honest discussion. So we are not downplaying the message at all. We are refusing to have a reasonable discussion with a lunatic. Welcome. I would love an honest debate from someone who sees thing different from me. Unfortunately there is very little reasoning here of late. From both sides.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

One has a relatively predictable history the other has no history at all. What do your models show regarding the number of COVID deaths do date had we not all voted for Trump? -

Oh sorry. I keep my private conversation that....private. Sorry I “nosed” in. I’m just curios who my “friends” are here.
-
First off who are the “friends” you’re talking about and second why should that be of any concern of mine?
-
Funny you should say this. The day after Obama was we elected I was very happy for black people (can I still use that phrase). As a matter of fact, even as a staunch conservative, I remember walking in the office the very next morning and seeing a black woman. I wanted to give her a hug. Well he squandered that. Just at Bush squandered 911. And with this we still do not have a viable third party. WTF???
-
Correct. You know why? Because they are the only ones making personal accusations against me. The others can defend themselves. Does that make sense to you?

Would prove? It just reinforces what we already know about Greg. -
Reminds me of a story the marshal at the gun range in Oakland told during our home invasion course. He was at home and heard someone jiggle his front door. He got out his weapon and was ready. He saw the bolt lock begin to move as if someone was trying to remove it. He held and raise his weapon to confront the intruder. As the door opened he yelled "STOP!!!" to.........................................the locksmith. Probably a made up story but he referred to shooting someone in your home as a "social situation."

Or maybe not.................

Got it. More accusations with zero proof. As I mentioned a weak and extremely boring way to debate. You have a great weekend too and I hope this means we won't be seeing you around the next few days. Thanks for the break. -
