  1. To much. before the easy outs we are talking in the 9M AAV range.
  2. I actually agree with this. However I could get on board with an Extension that is in the 8-9M AAV (real money) So a 2 year deal at 18M. Can market it as a 4 year yada yada extension I am sorry he is already a top 5 paid FS in the NFL. 6 seasons before Buffalo and Nothing from him. Comes to the DB friendly Cover 3 and boom.
  3. 3 years 26M that is where I go. AAV is 8.6M That is a good contract for Poyer. Can make the first 2 years fully guaranteed. Anything more than that I would move on
  4. Added my Grades on each player. And some tidbits on how you can use official visits to narrow the positions a bit. Based on the initial post in the thread. Cam Jurgens - C/G Nebraska - 4th Round Logan Bruss - C/G Wisconsin - 6th round Zion Johnson - C/G Boston College - Late 1st Lecitus Smith - G Virginia Tech - 4th Round Dohnovan West - C/G Arizona State - 3rd round Kenyon Green - C/G Texas A&M - 2nd round *Tidbit - looks like they have a player for each round in the draft in the IOL (so I would put this as a lesser priority for them) Josh Thompson - CB Texas (Senior Bowl) - 7th round Roger McCreary - CB Auburn - 2nd round Trent McDuffie - CB - Washington - Mid 1st round Kaiir Elam - CB Florida - 2nd round Kyler Gordon - CB Washington - Early 3rd Andrew Booth - CB Clemson - Late 1st *Interesting all their engagements will be gone by the end of the 2nd based on my grades Seems this position is set to be selected early Jameson Williams- WR Bama - Mid 1st Treylon Burks - WR Arkansas - Late First Garrett Wilson - WR OSU - Mid First Chris Olave - WR OSU - Mid First John Metchie III - WR Bama - 2nd round grade *interesting like CB looks like the Bills are telegraphing a bit here, seems for them they are set on taking CB/WR in rounds 1 and 2 Jordan Davis - DT Georgia - Mid First Perrion Winfrey - DT Oklahoma - 3rd round Phidarian Mathis - DT Bama - 4th round *This seems the next in line of priority. players that thy linked with would be there in the 3rd except Davis Max Borghi - RB Washington State - 7th round Rachaad White - RB Arizona State - 5th round Brandon Smith - LB PSU - 2nd round Darrian Beavers - LB Cincinnati - 3rd round Malik Willis - QB Liberty *this on is interesting to me that they are talking to what will be a 1st round QB. Intel gathering????? Cade Otton - TE Washington - 5th round Matt Araiza - P San Diego State - 6th round Arnold Ebiketie - DE PSU - 2nd round Jaquan Brisker - S - PSU - 2nd Round
  5. The way I see it. Does the Bills win total projections change with Hamlin or Johnson as the other safety over Poyer? No with will not.
  6. This news hasnt hit their message board yet from what I can tell https://www.bearsfansonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16171&sid=b4e114c83a57afae08c363b0b18ed1ed&start=180
  7. @Virgil My favorite threads of the year actually. So glad you put these together every year. Appreciate it and have a great vacation
  8. Learn something new everyday. Granted the last time I really looked into the RFA rules was during the Clay offersheet year, but man I could have Swore they were frozen as is for a Year (at least during the Clay times)
  9. Beane and Overdorf are magicians. It is amazing how Overdorf when given the full set of tools is a master with the contract structures. Night and Day his performance under Terry and Ralph/Littman
  10. Not going to give a premier pick and a 19M AAV contract on this Defense YET again.
  11. Ok with Diggs now back in SPOTRAC and this restructure already shown. Bates currently holding a 1.45M base this year.... Bills have 8.2M in space this year. Take 2.2M off for Rookies at this point and you have 6M roughly in space. (65 players on Contract, maybe 8 coming via Draft would make this 73 players on contract.) So have 17 spots open (historically been about 13 UDFA signed) so there is roughly 4 spots that could still get UFAs into (yes I know they could go with a Higher UDFA class as well). Then you have the remaining Cap Space Tickets Edmunds Extension - Likely saves another 5M this year White Base to Bonus - Saves roughly 4M this year Dawkins Base to Bonus - Saves roughly 4M this year Edmunds Trade - saves 12.7M this year Poyer Trade - saves 6.6M this year Poyer Extension - Laves roughly 4M this year (Max)
  12. I didnt think they could touch a matched RFA contact for at least a year?
  13. And they do. Find me a Cover 3 base coverage scheme over the last decade that has not had a good secondary?
  14. Yes the arm candy should stay out of Other Players money. The minute she opened up her glory hole about Von or using Hyde in her tweets she crossed the line. brady put his arm candy in place Poyer doesn’t.
  15. With the Final Pick in the 3rd round. The 49er select Donhovan West, C Az St. filled final need with the last pick in the draft. We feel good value here. Started every game since a Freshman. Finished with a 72.3 overall grade. @Virgil this was fun. Appreciate it.
  16. Sure it can. Tell me How hard do you think it is for a player to be 15 yards off the Ball. With their eyes looking right at the QB. safety is easier to play than RB OG WLB and those are all very easy positions. Safety is the easiest position to play on a football field. Now add it into a Cover 3 DB friendly defenses. And You have two players that have been moved on from their other teams making all pros. Hyde is the glue back there I can get same production from any NFL safety next to Hyde. Doesn’t have to have the name Poyer or be paid 12M a year.
  17. Shaw Bills sitting at 18.1M in space (Diggs not on here, can count as low at 7M in cap hit likely, most likely is 10M in space) Bills will not need 8M in space for the Rookies. It is likely 2.5M in space needed for Rookies. So that will likely leave Bills in the 6M cap space range post draft. Poyer Trade brings a savings of 6.6M Edmunds Extension would drop this years cap hit by max of 5M Two easy cap tickets still remain... White - Base to Bonus can save 6M Dawkins - Base to Bonus can save roughly 5M
  18. Exactly. Quick look into the 2023 Cap. Bills Space - 31,607,468 (Not counting Diggs extension yet) Players on Contract (40) UFAs. Jordan Phillips Jordan Poyer Mitch Morse - More Vital than Poyer Rodger Saffold - Likely more vital than Poyer Case Keenum Tyler Matakevich O.J. Howard Tremaine Edmunds - More important than Poyer (based on the teams thinking) Jamison Crowder Cody Ford Matt Haack Duke Johnson Andre Smith Marquel Lee Ike Boettger Shaq Lawson Jake Kumerow Matt Barkley Eli Ankou Devin Singletary Tyrel Dodson - more important than Poyer specially with the unknown in Edmunds Dawson Knox - More important than Poyer Dane Jackson - more important than Poyer at this point Reggie Gilliam Jaquan Johnson - Could be the Poyer replacement Tommy Sweeney
  19. Agree and Mathieu would be an upgrade and younger than Poyer on this Bills team if they wanted to play hardball.
  20. I get it, that is the mentality of the team. But in todays NFL those positions I listed are the ones that should have your highest Cap allocations and be paid if you have one. Safety RB OG (maybe a year or so away from being really vital with the interior rush emphasis) Are not as important IMO
  21. Jordan Poyer is the 4th Highest PAID SS going into 2022. Jamal Adams - 17.5M (listed as a SS) Quandre Diggs - 13M John Johnson - 11.25M Jordan Poyer - 9.750M Micah Hyde - 9.625M (listed as SS in Spotrac) Looking at FS here is where Poyer Falls Harrison Smith - 16M Justin Simmons - 15.25M Kevin Byard - 14.1M Marcus Williams - 14.0M Jordan Poyer - 9.75M With ALL Safeties Poyer comes in at 13 and Hyde is at 14. Yeah so they are being properly compensated there Rachael.
  22. I fully agree. That is what I would do. I am not touching Poyers contract. He plays this year and then moves on or Traded, Same with Edmunds (and I like Edmunds) but it comes down to resource Management. I am not going to have 2 10M plus LBers and 2 10M plus Safeties. The positions in todays NFL that should be paid are. QB LT RT WR DE CB DE
  23. Lets look at next years UFA Safety class, some of the names. Where would you rank Poyer Jessie Bates III (26) Minkah Fitzpatrick (26) Derwin James (26) Jabrill Peppers (27) Jordan Poyer (31) Out of those 5. I think he would end up being ranked right about there. So Rachael Can take that 1st team All Pro leverage and hang out by her million dollar homes pool in Miami.
  24. Rachel Be careful spouting off about other peoples pay..... Can easily get younger at the position with just signing Mathieu
  25. And all safeties can. Fact remains Safety is probably the easiest position to play in football. And then add McD defense is very Safety and CB friendly. Hyde is the more important one. And I can 90# guarantee there will be little to no drop replacing Poyer with Johnson or Hamlin going into 2022 season. when I get back to the house I will post the contracts that need to be done first over Poyer. other thing not going well for Poyer and the “leverage”. Safety is still one of those positions that have a manageable franchise Tag number. essentially if Bills wanted they have him on contract for next two years.
