I don't disagree. I wanted a squib kick to take off a few more seconds of the clock. I felt like that was the obvious thing to do. About the coverage, that's little more intricate. To me, it felt like Mahomes was going to find an open guy and give them a chance. I never felt confident even after the go ahead TD.

Yep, it's one of those situations where it's less risky to have the return guy run it back then put the ball in Mahomes hands with 13 seconds left.

  2. Yep, we need to get home field advantage next year.  That really helped the Chiefs tonight, and I'm sure contributed to how spent our D was at the end.  We also need to get a better pass rush.  The rotation didn't cut it really in tonight's game, and you need  steady pressure on Mahomes to win.

  3. I don't know about everyone else, but as I've felt in a number of games this year - the Bills just don't feel like a playoff team.  Too much dysfunction, too inconsistent, bad OL, and questionable run defense.  I keep waiting for them to get some momentum but they always seem to get stymied.  They are just too one dimensional around Josh.  I feel like any decent playoff team would crush the Panthers today.

    1. They touched Brady maybe once all game....

    2. Marks were terrible, but yep I'm a homer.

    3. Did you see the Bills penalties they called (btw not a single penalty on TB's secondary)

    4.Thanks for actually agreeing

    5. Bills penalties were significant.  TB jumped the gun twice for piddly 5 yard penalties, one roughing the passer and the 10 yard penalty on a kick return.  Bills penalties I think all accounted for first downs.

Have to agree - I have no idea what Mattynh is seeing there.  That said, I knew when we failed to punch it in at the end of the game that we were doomed.

  5. We are certainly the frontline contenders for most disappointing team this season.  However, OL will be first priority for next season, if it isn't looking for a new head coach.  McDermott seems very average at best.  You can see better coaches out game-planning him too frequently.

  6. If the Pats play defense like they have the last several weeks, we will likely see a similar performance to today from the Bills offense.  They need to address the offensive issues quickly.  Josh Allen needs to be play better, and the coaches need to make that happen.  We just gave him a big contract - he's not going anywhere.  The Bills next several years all depend on making Allen a franchise QB.

  7. The Pats are good.  I'm sorry to say that, but they have put things together and have won 5 games in a row.  They have blown out teams like a true playoff team.  Until they show otherwise, they are the team to beat in the AFC and they may have the strongest defense in the NFL.  The Chiefs seem to be putting things together, and I would have said the Titans until they lost to the Texans today (another bizarre outcome). The Ravens are also in the mix.

Probably cause this is the first team with a winning record we haven't been competitive with? I swear to God my pet goldfish has a better memory than most bills fans.

Except the Colts were only 5-5 coming into this game so they didn't have a winning record until they beat us.

  9. I think this loss is hard because everyone - including the media - has had such high expectations for the Bills.  But, they really haven't been that good.  They haven't beaten any teams actually playing well and the O is not clicking most of the time.  I think a combination of poor OL play, man defenses not allowing the WRs to get open in time, and bad decisions by Allen are currently a big issue.  The lack of a run game is coming back to haunt us.  It just isn't a SB offense right now.  If we can reduce our expectations - maybe this is a 10-7 team - it makes things much easier.

  10. At the end of the day it's just sports.  It doesn't really matter much compared to the important things in life.  So, just have fun and don't worry about it much.

I also think it goes without saying that the Bills have really not looked playoff worthy for much of the season even with our soft schedule.  The  offense has especially looked like opposing coaches have figured something out, so I think it helps to reduce expectations.  We will be fighting - and I mean fighting - to hold off the Pats for the division championship, and currently there are better teams in the AFC.
