  1. Yeah, it's just sad that were clearly the superior team out there and we just couldn't stop making stupid mistakes.  The defense played its heart out, and that's the only positive I see.  The coaching was awful, Josh is playing scared, receivers were dropping balls, Davis still looks slow, etc.

  2. Ok, I have gradually come around.  The team is a bumbling incoherent mess on offense and Josh looks like he is played scared.  Dorsey definitely needs to go, but I'm now on board with the concept that McDermott is just not very good.  The team was so talented the last few years that it was covering up his mediocrity.  I'd take any AFC East coach over him, frankly.

  3. Well, Allen has hit a pretty bad low tonight.  He's even struggling with handoffs.  And the receivers aren't helping much.  What I don't understand is why we aren't just trying to pound the Broncos defense with the run game.  It has been working, but the last two drives we are trying to make throws.

Family and I are huge Allen fans. Great person…ya da ya da…he is not a smart QB and has trouble reading defenses. He has been regressing since 13 seconds. When we look back on Allen era, one of worst moves was listening to Allen and hiring his buddy as an OC.

Yeah, it's not a strength of his, but it doesn't help that our WRs outside of Diggs can't really beat man coverage.  Teams can play Tampa 2 against us and it severely limits us.  Look at the depth on that Bengals receiving group - we would love to have that.  Frankly, I thought he made some good reads as well tonight - reading the D on that Diggs TD pass was brilliant.

I've watched these past 4 years, the window isn't closing, it's closed.

Allen isn't the answer. Good QB, but he can't win the clutch games. Oh I know fans will throw a multitude of excuses....coaching, personnel, and each have merit on their own right.

Beans and McD need to go, so does Allen. Let Diggs go to. Get what you can in trade value. That should be solid building blocks if the right management team and coaching staff are assembled.

Many will hate this opinion, but if your not accepting the reality of the current situation, then your living your Bills Fandom in la la land.

The current organizational make up, from management and coaching to roster personnel is not taking this team anywhere.

I know, hate it, hate me and a growing number that share this opinion, but it won't change the reality on the ground. This team is going nowhere, and the past 4+ years outcomes project this.

The time for denial is over. It's time to move on to acceptance.

You do realize how hard it is to find a QB as good as Josh?  Have you been watching the Bills for the last 23 years?  You try to improve the team around Josh.  Von has not worked out this year, the defense has a bunch of season ending injuries, the playcalling has been bad, and we don't have a #2 WR who can beat man coverage well.  Davis is good against zones.  You make changes and draft correctly next year.

Updated the original post. We have 3 available losses left. 9-8 isn’t going to do it. The Bills will have to pull off something like this schedule or it’s over folks:

    Denver - W
    Jets - W
    @ Philly - L
    @ KC - L
    Dallas - L
    @ Chargers - W
    Pats - W
    @ Miami - W

Yep, we need to somehow go 5-3.  But, let's be realistic, with our D completely shot for the year, maybe we should just get those draft picks.  I guess we can wait and see if we come to play against the Broncos.  If we lose there, then we might as well tank.

  7. Realistically, we will probably not make the playoffs this year.  Our schedule is awful - Broncos, Jets, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers, Patriots, Dolphins.  We may be lucky to get to 9-8 this year with our depleted D and sputtering offense, but we can't make the playoffs every year and there are problems on the team this year.  We have a poor run game and we could use a better #2 receiver who can beat man coverage.

  8. Well, we can't be a playoff team every year unforunately.  There is something that is just off with this year's team.  The injuries on defense are a major problem, and I don't think Von Miller has much left in his tank, but the offense is just out of sync.  We could still use a good #2 receiver that can beat man coverage, and our running game needs to be better.

  9. It's too early in the season to discuss this topic.  We could easily win the next 4 (Tampa, Bengals, Broncos, Jets), although the Bengals game will be the greatest challenge.  If we lose two of the next 4, then the season is about ready to be scuttled.  The Eagles and Chiefs follow so we could easily be 6-7 after them.  I would like to think we could still go 4-2 over the next 6 at the very least, but some things need to come together for us.

  10. Meh, it's not time to jump ship on the season yet.  We need to beat Tampa, and then we need to somehow beat the Bengals.  If we lose to the Bengals, then the season is starting to look very iffy, but we do have winnable games against the Broncos and Jets to follow.  If we win the next 4 we are right back in the thick of things.

The problem is that we then play the Eagles and Chiefs, and those are going to be tough.  We really can't afford to lose games to teams like the Pats.

If you listen to the whole interview, it was not nearly as bad as that clip makes it seem. He was giving boilerplate responses, but then a reporter asked him why he wasn’t getting open. That was the response. He was defending himself from an accusation.

Yep, exactly.  I think the reporter asked him something along the lines of whether it's taking more work to get open and that was his response.  And, based on what I've seen, he HAS been open a lot in the Bengals' games.  Factor in all the drops from Higgins and he does deserve to be the focal point in that receiving group.

People saying the Bills panicked… take a look at the Cowboys.  They were going Kincaid the WHOLE way.  Bills jumped em and killed their pick.

Yep.  You can see that they liked Kincaid over Mayer, and when the Bills took him they looked a bit stunned and took a while to figure out who they were pivoting to.

  13. I will join the chorus and say I - and others watching the game with me - were routinely asking the TV screen - "Why the heck are they calling that play on defense!?"  Our defense was playing SCARED the entire game.  I understand the weather conditions were rough (and we are dealing with injuries), but the constant dropping back of safeties deep and leaving the middle wide open was a bit much in the snow.  Neither QB was having much success throwing long so I think Frazier needed to make some additional adjustments and take some chances.  Another play that immediately comes to mind near the end of the first half when the Bengals were in the red zone - we decided to do an "all-out blitz" up the gut, but our secondary drops back in coverage.  What's the point of an all-out blitz if every receiver is going to be immediately open for a quick pass?  Jam those receivers and take a chance.

All in all, Frazier is just too conservative in my book.  Take some more chances and mix things up, even if we do have a lot of subs in there.

  14. We desperately need to improve our lines on both sides of the ball.  Allen has been under a lot of pressure, and he's starting to get a lot more jumpy.  And, we have failed to get pressure on opposing QBs too often this year.  I'll also add that our playcalling has been suspect.  I didn't understand, for example, why we didn't jam the receivers when Frazier called an all-out blitz in the second quarter.  Go all-in with the weather conditions if you're going to call it in your redzone.

  15. We need to focus on our lines on both sides of the ball this offseason.  Allen was under a lot of pressure, and our front 4 couldn't do squat to a bunch of backups that the Bengals had out there.  Look at the Eagles and 49ers as examples.  If you have top lines in this league you win.

But, I expected the Bills to lose this one based on momentum.  We were not a consistent team the second half of the season, and it showed.  The Bengals are likely going to win the SB this year, and Burrow looks like he's the second best QB in football after Mahomes, but he might be the best one if they win it all.

What are the chances of the attorney's story being true when witnesses are starting to say otherwise?  Yeah, factor in agendas and whatnot, but when have you been on a flight where the passenger is acting politely and asked to leave the plane?
