Run-N-Shoot teams had no fullbacks and no TE's on the roster. The QB's took a beating because teams would try and blitz them to force the ball out quickly and with no way of getting any extra protection, they got hit a lot. While the Run-N-Shoot in it's pure form died out after the Lions stopped running it, many of the concepts are still in use, just used in certain situations or formations, and not all the time as a base game plan. In some respects, the athletic, flexed out TE has replaced the 4th WR, with the addition of his ability to play inline and block when needed. The RB's were typically bigger backs as well, to try and make up a little bit of this and allow the back to stay in as a blocker at times. Lorenzo White with the Oilers was 225 lbs, for instance...

The spread is similar to the Run-N-Shoot at times, but much more well-rounded from a personnel standpoint, as they have multiple TE's and can run heavy formations, which the Run-N-Shoot could not very effectively. Many times in 3rd and 1 or 2, the Run-N-Shoot teams were passing because they couldn't line up and get 1 or 2 yards, although they sometimes would run draws in these situations. In effect the Run-N-Shoot in its true form died because of its limitations of its personnel and what you could do with them.

    good stuff...bit-thumbsup.gif

A spread offense is referred to as such because it's object is too spread you out as much as possible pre snap. A lot of 3-4-5 wide sets. BUT spread team do not necessarily mean pass heavy. You can be a running spread team

Air raid is an off shoot of the spread offense. But it typically features passing at a higher rate, over 70% passing, than most offenses. It is designed to get the ball out of the QBs hand instantly.

The run n shoot was a offense designed around option passing routes and Their principles from a spread offense. In principle it's passing concepts are brilliant but you need a brilliant QB with a brilliant mind like Brady or Manning or Brees to pull it off

of those QB prospects in the upcoming draft, which do you see having a brilliant mind?

It would seem that many of the fans who think we're going to the playoffs because Rex is gone haven't been keeping track of all the talent that has left Buffalo in the last few years and not replaced in the draft.

you still have no clue, none. no more than I do, you just throw out your opinion like everyone else.

thing is, your opinions are worthless to me, just a bunch of negativity...

carry on magic man, wallow in your fail.

  3.

That's because there is a huge split in this fan base. Many seem to believe this is a playoff team and Tyrod is a good NFL QB. If you believe those things then you will want to believe you only need to fill in a roster hole or two and, Get Ready We're Going! This group has also recently jumped in a thread talking about Cardale Jones as a better QB than any prospect in the 2017 draft. Seriously. I mean I get you want a linebacker but let's not do things like this.

I am with the group that sees a team that has lost talent and drafted poorly the last few years. I see a team that looks like a 5-6 win squad and a bridge QB signed whose pay jumps to 18 million next year with no franchise QB on the roster.

guess what magic man. just because you post it, doesn't make it so. keep that in mind while you continue to post about how the team has failed and continues to fail. stay on the darkside, it looks good on you.

what I want to know, and keep in mind this scenario may not happen either but if they were to have a winning season what will you do then? my guess is you'll still live in your world of fail while the fans of the team will be satisfied.

    carry on, magic man...

  4. Can we please start voting to thin out the crowd? I may be a casualty myself, but I find this place to be waaaay overcrowded lately. Too many duplicate threads. It's time to thin the herd SDS. I suggest a thumbs up, thumbs down on OPS. Once you hit a certain number, your out. Likewise with replies, but a higher number. Read more, say less.

Sorry for the drunk post. Everybody please give me a thumbs down and put me out of my misery, cuz this place is a lot less interesting since, well, you know...

BBMB brought a few good posters, but many many more bad ones. Not every thought deserves a new thread people.

Edit: Not for off the wall.

so, when you came in here in 2010, 12 years after the board started, a newbie yourself, you just fit right in eh?

yeah, booze and posting/creating threads is not a good mix OP...

start voting to thin out the crowd. good one

  5. Can anyone read this and not just think out loud wa wa wa

all the years I was there I never put anyone on ignore at the "other board" and there were some close to equal to that character. first time for everything I suppose and since I don't believe he'll be taking a long walk off a short cliff anytime soon, the ignore feature comes in handy.

If you're going to use a word, use it correctly. Trolling is not disagreeing with someone. If instead you mean I really do believe in Tyrod but am making up stuff then your are deluded even worse than I thought.

disagreeing with your opinion is one thing. calling those CoT or living in a bubble or the posters on the wall comment, is trolling. you want to express an opinion, stop with the childish insults to those that differ from your opinion or support the player while he is part of the TEAM.

as teef and scott law posted above . we're all aware that an upgrade is likely to happen whether the prospect is drafted this year or next but are willing to support him until that happens.

  8.

The Bills were ready to move on from him yet many of you can't see the writing on the wall. Enjoy your bubble.

they didn't though. so we fans that support the team will support the TEAM, he is a part of the team. you can go support your avatar and the team that drafts him in the 2nd or 3rd round... you seem to be the type that only supports a player of your choice and not a team.

keep trolling though, you're pretty good at that.

  9.

I support Tyrod the same way I support Jordan Mills. Hope for the best, expect the worst and am looking to replace as soon as possible.

We brought back Jordan Mills who was an absolute failure. Should we hold a party for him as well?

you should give up. unless you want to keep looking like an idiot?

no, go ahead, you fit the bill perfectly.

  10.

It's just how it is. There will always be people still cheering for the mediocre, can't get it done QB long after it became apparent they were not the answer. You can keep your Tyrod poster on your wall if you wish, much of the fan base has moved on.

why would you even post such a thing?

much of the fan base has moved on?

so, you and that fan base going to keep watching the bills, since, you know you've moved on?

maybe you'll move on to the team that drafts your avatar? he must have a pretty large fan base. you have his avatar, you have a poster on your wall of him too? you going to tear it down when the bills don't draft him?

    fan base, ridiculous.

a fan base follows the team...
