Ken Dorsey is a currently bad NFL OC to a point. He has arguably the best QB in the NFL and he is wasting him. He simply doesn't have the experience to guide this team to an SB. The Bills can sometimes beat bad teams as they play to their competition at times. This Bengals game showed how out-coached this team has been all season. They nearly lost to the NY Giants and Buccaneers and had that happened they would be easily be 3-6. Holy crap that really sucks. Still. 5-4 and currently out of the playoff picture. Buffalo still has 3-5 Denver, 4-4 NY Jets, @ 8-1 Eagles, @ 7-2 Chiefs, 5-3 Cowboys, @ 4-4 Chargers, 2-7 Patriots, and @ 6-3 Dolphins. So, even if they beat the teams they should beat, Denver, Jets, @ Chargers, and Patriots =9 wins While losing to the better teams in the league, @ Eagles, @ Chiefs, Cowboys, and Dolphins = 8 losses which equal a 9-8 record. At this point, I don't see how they even finish with a winning record. as they could lose to the Broncos, Jets, Chargers, or Patriots. Hell, how did the crappy Patriots beat them by scoring 29 points? They have a -93 point differential. The offense has been their downfall since that Jags game. Change is gonna happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if McD were smart he would get ahead of it. Yeah, I still dream they could still get to 13-4 and see the Ravens in the AFC Championship game...then I woke up!

Buffalo was clearly out-coached in the game. The Bills play reactive instead of proactive. The Bengals look at the weakness of the team and attack on both sides of the ball. Sure, the bills are going to bracket Chase. So they pull some TEs off the practice squad and attack you with players you have no film on. How pathetic. On offense, Bills OC Ken Dorsey used all his tricks up against the Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins. Now teams know what's coming and even bad teams like the Patriots, and Giants give them fits. Buffalo was lucky to beat the NY Giants and Buccaneers. The Buffalo offense needs to remove its cranium from its posterior ...that begins with Dorsey growing a brain with some innovation. Use more Play action and actually work the run game. Their biggest excuse was OH, we were down 21-7...we can't run...what bullcrap.

McD did rid the team of Rick Dennison after the 2017 season. The next OC was Brian Daboll who was actually worse that first season in Buffalo going 30th in both points and yards. The Buffalo Bills are currently 5th overall in both points and yards so I don't see McD making a change right now. HOWEVER, If he doesn't like all this losing he might give QB coach Joe Brady a shot at calling plays while keeping the status quo. Line coach Mike Schula might get a shot too. I have no idea what former Baltimore Ravens OC Greg Roman is doing but it might be wise to hire him right now as a run game consultant or even a run game coordinator. If there is one thing Roman knows...it is how to run the ball. Heck, it's not rocket science. When the opponent goes to an 8-man front to stop the run simply bring in more O linemen. I don't get why this team can't run with a talent like Cook at RB.
-
ROFL, he seriously can't get it into second gear. Really kind of sad that with a roster as talented as this one is with Allen, Diggs, Kincade, Cook, and Davis, the best O line in years. That this man can't figure out how to work a run game. Should be the easiest part of an offense because those big ole boys love moving others outta the way. Can't run a screenplay to save a life. No misdirection plays. Ex-Packer, Seahawk HC Mike Holmgren used to make his players work a run play in practice until they perfected it, over and over and over again until perfect. I guess they do things differently these days. Probably why they can't run simple screenplays that actually work.

Poll: Top reason for the Offense's underperformance
Nihilarian replied to Fan in Chicago's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I kind of agree that Dorsey does suck at times. It's mostly because he isn't innovative enough to get the Buffalo run game going with Cook or whoever the RB is... Buffalo needs Josh Allen under center and that run game working no matter how many the opponent stacks in a box. Key word, innovative! -
What I see is that Dorsey has no plan B! The Bills build good rushing attacks in the Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins games, and when the Jags go to an 8-man box he has no answer. The Buffalo offense showed that with Allen under center while actually running the ball the offense was very effective and explosive. Rush against the Jaguars, 14 rushes for 29 yards and the one rushing TD was by the QB. No plan B! Rush against the Bengals, 16 rushes for 68 yards and the one TD by the QB...again. QB Josh Allen 8 attempts for 44 yards. This means the Buffalo RBs had 8 attempts all game, 6 for Cook, and 2 for Murray. Buffalo had 2 turnovers and only had 23:22 min time of possession. QB Josh Allen should make ANY OC look good. All he needs is help with a decent run game and Dorsey can't seem to do that for him every game. What good is an OC who refuses to even try to find ways to have his RBs... you know..actually run the ball! Time for a change!

Why does Buffalo carry running backs on their roster?
Nihilarian replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nothing we can do as Buffalo Bills fans... except piss, B word, and moan which we seem to do a lot of after every loss. I still can't believe that this year's team lost to the NE Patriots, manhandled by the Jags and almost beaten by the NY Giants and Bucs. What gets me is that it is the offense that's fallen on its face game after game. The defense did allow the Patriots to put up 29 points though. What's going on with the offense? #5 overall offense in the NFL and yet they can't get out of their own way at times If only this team could run the ball like they did against the Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins. Rushing, 35 for 183 2 TDs against the Raiders Rushing, 33 for 163 2 TDs against the Commanders Rushing 29 for 104 2 TDs against the Dolphins. Clearly, when Josh Allen is under center and they have a commitment to run the ball they seem to dominate on offense. The Jags did go with an 8 man box to stop the run. Seems unbelievable to me that Buffalo OC Ken Dorsey couldn't figure out a way to counter that or get the run game working in other games. -
The Bills are done, stick a fork in them

A sad time to be a Bills fan after a loss where the defense looked lost and after that first Buffalo dive the offense looked lost too -
Why does Buffalo carry running backs on their roster?
Nihilarian replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
The more things change...Josh Allen was the Buffalo Bills leading rusher in this game. 8 carries for 44 yards and a TD James Cook 6 carries for 20 yards a 3.3 YPC AVG. Murray 2 carries for 4 yards, a 2.0 YPC AVG. That first Buffalo drive game me hope that we might see an explosive game...until the second drive... -
Ted Washington clone anyone? Bill's defense didn't do well against the Patriot's rushing attack. While that Buffalo defense is still #3 in points allowed and 13th in yards allowed. Currently, Buffalo is 22nd in rushing yards allowed, and 31st in yards per rush attempt!!!!!! Allowing a 5.1 YPC AVG. Hopefully, this changes with the addition of the new big man!

No, I heard it on OBD as Chris Brown mentioned it.

Rumor has it that both Joseph and Douglas might play Sunday night at Cincy.

Good stuff! A CB & DT, just what the doctor ordered.

Works for me...as someone stated he was the heart of that GB secondary and a ball hawk. Think about where Michah Hyde played before he came to Buffalo...yea GB. Looking at McD and his ability to see talent in the secondary with veteran players... I'll go with this move. Packers trade Rasul Douglas to Bills - NBC Sports

The Buffalo Bills are currently 5-3 and easily could have been 3-5 with losses to the NY Giants, and Tampa Bay Bucs. Both games ended with what looked like fouls in the endzone from the Buffalo defense. I swear, that Smurf QB for the Bucs is the luckiest little guy I've seen, and their entire team for that matter. I suppose Buffalo also got somewhat lucky. Anyway, the Bills just peaked too soon in week 2-3-4. those scores were 38-10. 37-3, 48-20. where was this fire the Buffalo OC talk back then? From what I see the OC doesn't run the wrong routes, drop passes, or miss throws and blocks. Yes, the last three games the Bills didn't do what they did in those three big scoring wins. That was running the ball more from under center in 12-13 player personnel. Sometimes teams play down to their competition while playing better against the top teams. Buffalo has @ Cincy, Broncos, Jets, @ Eagles, @ Chiefs, Cowboys, @ Chargers, Patriots, @ Dolphins. Nine more games with a bye in week 13. Who knows what will happen? They could go on a tear and win them all...14-3

The Buffalo offense is currently #3 in the NFL in scoring. #5 in yards. they are also #4 in passing yards and TDs. Can we fire posters?

Bills now Vegas betting favorites to land Derrick Henry
Nihilarian replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all saw what the offense looked like in games #2, #3, and #4 by working the run game more. Raiders, 38 rush attempts with 183 rush yards, 2 rush TDs. FINAL SCORE 38-10 Commanders, 33 rush attempts with 168 rush yards, 2 rush TDs. FINAL SCORE 47-3 Miami, 29 rush attempts with 142 rush yards, and 2 rush TDs. FINAL SCORE 48-20 Now, running the ball didn't kill the Buffalo passing offense in those games and in fact, it looked to help it immensely. This move would put the Buffalo Bills offense right up there with the 49ers and Eagles. Being able to move the ball in any situation should also help keep the offense ON the field and the Buffalo defense OFF the field. WINTER IS COMING!!!!! -
After nine games, where do you think the Bills end up this season?
Nihilarian replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you had told me before the season started that the Bills would lose to the NY Jets without Aaron Rodgers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and a 1-5 NE Patriots I'd have said no freaking way. Alas, the Bills found a way to lower themselves to a basement level. Now, with the defense, it's completely understandable considering they lost Milano, White, and Jones all out. The offense though went into the toilet the last few games for some unknown reason. Josh was not very fond of the idea that the coaches were reigning him in and not allowing him to be him. I dunno...right now the Bills should be 6-1 and contending for home-field throughout and instead are starting to look like they might not even make the playoffs. -

Yeah, a real #2 WR in D-Hop over another RB would be my preference to open up the passing offense. Still, a major RB tank like the King would help with those 12-13 player personnel schemes. Think of it, Cook reminds me of a change of pace back and not the mule needed to carry a full RB workload. This last game he stunk it up in pass blocking and then I would think he would be more utilized in the passing game over the run game. Honestly, as much as I love Josh throwing more often I'd really prefer to see him more under center while not needing to carry the game all the time. Having a dominant run game would put them right up there with SF and Philly. -
Bills restructured Dawkins contract, create Cap space

I'd rather see a LBer or WR. -
Why is everyone focused on the Offense here?
Nihilarian replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team should make two trades before the deadline, one for a top WR and the other for a top LBer. This would help the team immensely. Here is hoping Beane can work his magic. -
If Dorsey needs to be fired - McD needs to go
Nihilarian replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Granted, they were smoked by a really bad NE offensive team...especially on that last drive. Listen to the all-22 and see that most of the team played poorly. They benched Williams and brought in Dodson and he was a little better. It was so bad that Jordan Poyer was playing LBer... I don't know why, but it seems like these bad teams suddenly play like world-beaters against the Bills. Starting with the Jags, then the Giants played the best game of the season against Buffalo and the Bills were lucky to even win that game. Looking back, it's sort of amazing how they beat the Raiders, Commanders, and Dolphins so profoundly. 38-10, 37-3, 48-20. Currently, they can't score in the first half, missing field goals by Bass 0 matic. Suddenly, the Buffalo offensive line that looked so good in those winning games now looks really, really bad. We know why the defense looked bad to a degree because of the loss of star players. But still, they really stunk on that last NE drive. If they continue to play like they have the last few games... it's season over. -
Devils advocate...what is Josh is the problem?
Nihilarian replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watch the All-22, it's not the coaches. Cook stunk in protection. The new LG had a bad game as did the center. Gabe Davis isn't a #2 WR. Yes, Josh had a bad start in this game....it happens. Poyer shouldn't need to swap to the LBer position. The Bills lost Milano, and Tre White and it showed up big time in this game.
