  1. This is exactly how I feel. Even if (Wentz) the QB works out I believe it will be a couple of years. For the Titans, I would be ecstatic. With those 2nd and 3rd round picks they could end up adding 4-5 starters from this draft. Also, knowing they have 2 first rounders next year is going to work out great for them. And, like Whitewalker said, they have their franchise qb. As others have said, the Rams definitely need a QB, but I feel that a good QB still doesn't push them over the top at this point. Nobody to throw to, and honestly other than their D-line, I wouldn't be confident going into the season basically adding nobody to the defense. Really the whole deal hinges on whether the QB will workout, and not a RGIII situation.
  2. I took a chance with treadwell in the first, but if the draft worked out like this I would be happy, used the composite draft board. 19: R1P19 WR LAQUON TREADWELL OLE MISS 49: R2P18 OLB SU'A CRAVENS USC 80: R3P17 S JEREMY CASH DUKE 117: R4P19 OT LA'RAVEN CLARK TEXAS TECH 139: R4P41 DE SHAWN OAKMAN BAYLOR 156: R5P17 DT D.J. 3. I feel similar about this guy, especially since he has the physical tools. And I understand how he would have fallen out at the Titans, but I would rather grab a guy like this (or Jerry Hughes) that was drafted high because of that talent, and not worked out 100% of the time over a low round journeyman. Like you said, at the very least we improved our depth and athleticism at LB, and best case is that we could have possibly found an WLB to play besides Preston(hopefully not a starter so much as a good coverage guy). I'll take that.

  7. I appreciate it man! I've been following this board for years, and its always been a great source of info on the team, along with some entertaining conversations to follow. Thanks, I receive so much information on here so it's nice to be able to contribute. I believe in 2014, he was injured and lost some playing time, but when he got back (the Boys were in a 4-3 by 2014). Still had a successful season and he did end up focusing on playing in the nickel and special teams, and thrived. On another note, I just read a small article from Chris Brown and remembered that Bruce was at Dallas when Big Rob was the DC. Something I like too is that Rob was just there for Bruce's first two seasons, in which he showed a lot of promise.
  8. I would love this pick up.. Has had a few average years but when he was at Dallas he seemed to thrive and an ILB in the 3-4. He would get an immediate chance to get some playing time, also if we draft a LB early he would be some great depth Rex has been b****ing about lately. Hope we sign him.
  9. Honestly with this draft, even though there is good depth in the front 7, I feel like 19 is a very good spot to (hopefully) guarantee a day one starter either at DL or LB. The guys that can fall to us like Darron Lee, Sheldon Rankins (even though im not sure how he would fit in our system), Noah Spence, Shaq.. I would be happy with any of these guys at 19, and I dont know how much longer they would last after that. If we were to trade though, I would definitely agree with John from Hemet when he said that Vernon Butler would be his target.
  10. Updated Fanspeak Rankings.. Don't like that I didnt take any OL but I would still be pleased with this draft. On a side note, it seems like similar players are popping up on everyone's draft. 11. You are exactly right.. And Ed would definitely be up to the task. Like you said, his athleticism is through the roof (4.34 40), and he is a great size for safety (6'2" 209 at the combine). From watching him the past couple years, if he can work on his open field tackling (and also angles to the runner) along with refining his coverage skills, he can be a very solid safety. I would like to go LB, DE and either OT or WR in the first three rounds, then I would be ok with TJ starting in the fourth.
  12. This is a good profile for Floyd from NFL.com. Pretty much sums up the consensus here.. Way too thin (even though he put on some lbs since the season) but seems to be a very well rounded athlete. I wouldn't take him in the first but obviously if he fell to us in the second I would be intrigued. 6'6". 244lbs COMBINE RESULTS 40 YARD DASH: 4.60 SEC VERTICAL JUMP: 39.5 INCH BROAD JUMP: 127.0 INCH ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Unique combination of length and athleticism. Extremely rangy with great chase speed from sideline to sideline. Good change of direction for taller player. Long limbs and twitch to spring into a tackle from a mile away. If unblocked, will chase down line of scrimmage from backside and foil run plans. Elusive in open space dodging blockers and sifting through traffic in pursuit of the ball. Has the traits to be highly effective in man coverage. As an edge rusher, able to shoot out of the starting blocks and cover substantial ground with long second and third strides. Not a great bender, but has ankle flexion necessary to lean at 45-degree angle and buzz inside the rush arc. Substantial pass rush potential with a variety of options to the quarterback. Pet move is upfield burst followed by jump-cut inside tied with inside club. Able to dip and rip around the corner. Dangerous on T/E twists and blitzes underneath. Able to worm his way through the A-gap as standup blitzer. WEAKNESSES All thin everything. Gangly frame produces marginal play strength. Built like a wide receiver and needs to live in a team cafeteria and weight room. Not an edge-setter. Gets long arms into defender effectively, but struggles to gain extension. Loses fight for neutral zone at point of attack. Issues shedding blocks forces him into downfield tackler rather than backfield playmaker. Drag-down tackler with little pop behind pads as a hitter. Must work to keep pad level lower on inside rush move. NFL COMPARISON Eli Harold BOTTOM LINE Floyd is painfully thin and will struggle to matchup with the strength of NFL players, but he is rangy in space, plays with a good motor and has traits as a pass rusher that would be a mistake to ignore. Floyd?s ability to cover close to five yards in three strides is rare for edge rushers. Add to that his inside counter and ability to play in space and you have a prospect who will be heavily scrutinized. Floyd?s lack of functionality could limit him to sub-packages unless he proves he can add more beef to his frame.
  13. Follow Conor OrrVerified account‏@ConorOrr Source says Kroy Biermann visiting with the Bills today. Versatile DE would fit well in Rex's scheme.
  14. Very true and I think that is the best strategy when it comes to middle to late round guys... By that time everyone has these guys rated differently on their board, so no need for foolery. I must admit, I was only 15 when we drafted McCargo, so I only really know what I can read up on him. But simply put, I believe they wil all have solid careers in comparison with their expectations. I personally think Shaq is going to be a stud for a long time. Even though Vic Beasley started slow last year (Falcons, 1st year out of Clemson), he finished the season really flashing his potential. These guys are two different animals with their skill sets, but I was more impressed on a consistent basis when it comes to watching Shaq. I loved Vic, but there are going to be things in the NFL that he will struggle with, while Shaq has the talent to be and all-around great DE. I believe Kevin Dodd will be a good role player (starter, but not big time star), but as I have said, I think he will get drafted higher than his professional career will produce. DJ, if drafted into a defense like ours (I will have my fingers crossed in the middle to late rounds), can truly be a steal of the draft. As many have mentioned, NT isn't valued for most teams because of their schemes, but putting him in the middle of our line could really open up things for Marcel, Kyle, and hopefully an early pass rusher/DE. And I enjoy it.. I have been following this site for about four years and just decided to start posting.. Its great being able to discuss my Bills (Considering how few there are in SC) with other legitimate fans.
  15. Its tough to predict with Tony, because when he was on the field for Clemson he was a fantastic playmaker. He did have injury problems pretty much his whole career with us, but the only major injury was his torn ACL. As bad as it sounds though, I was constantly waiting for him to get hurt when he saw the field this year, which unfortunately was the case. If he can somehow get rid of his injury problems, the sky is still the limit when it comes to his talent. And yes, coming out of high school I saw him walking around campus a man amongst boys. TJ just has great size and is a freak athlete, because you don't see too many safeties at 6'2" 209 that can run a 4.34 forty. One weakness that I noticed often while at the games was the angles he took to try and make a tackle. Between him and Jayron, they both were the main problems of the big plays we gave up. I do think with his speed that he can easily work on those angles and become a great all around safety. When it comes to cornerback, his size would be ideal and he has good man coverage skills, but i think those traits could really boost his potential as a FS.
  16. I was thinking the same when the players were falling to me! If we passed on Vernon in the first and we could snag him in the second that would be the ultimate steal. And I honestly feel the same way. Not to get over confindent, but if we chose Shaq, DJ Reader, Charone, TJ Green, or Jayron I would be happy (Obviously in the appropriate rounds). Also, if you haven't looked into him yet, BJ Goodson (ILB) is going to be a similar player to Stephone Anthony, who went in the first round last year. If we snagged him I would give Preston one more year to try to take control, and if he didn't, I would be confident giving the keys to Goodson. I feel like they are similar players but Goodson seems to be more athletic. He was another guy who showed out at the combine and pro day.
  17. This is with the updated Fanspeak Board 19: R1P19 OLB DARRON LEE OHIO STATE Even though he is a tad undersized, he is just as athletic as anyone in the draft.. He should be our answer for a coverage LB, which in my opinion is our biggest need on defense. Also has some good potential in a situational pass rush. 49: R2P18 DT VERNON BUTLER LOUISIANA TECH Versatile lineman, which is perfect for rex's system. Hopefully Marcel can avoid playing too much NT this year (which i may have covered later in the draft), but being able to shift all three DLs (Kyle, Marcel, and Vernon) to every position can be the answer to the puzzle on the front. 80: R3P17 OLB SU'A CRAVENS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA I look at Su'a as a prototype hybrid SS/OLB (Very accurate comparisons to Deone Buchanon a couple years ago). Could be the answer to at least limiting Gronk/Bennett which is a huge matchup every year. Also provides depth behind for SS. 118: R4P19 WR KENNY LAWLERCALIFORNIA Decent height (6'2"), but somewhat thin. Caught a touchdown every 5.3 receptions, so can be a huge threat in the redzone. Good route runner, even though he isn't much of a burner. For the fourth round, he has good value with his upside. 140: R4P41 DT D.J. READER CLEMSON This is who I think can be an immediate starter at NT for us this year. He is a complete animal at 6'3" 327, with surprising agility for a big man. Started the season away from the team for personal reasons, but came back and had a new fire under him. If we didn't have so many talented DTs, this would have been his breakout year. He has already played nose guard, along with some 3-Tech. Him between the combo of Vernon, Kyle, and Marcel would be a sight to see. 157: R5P17 QB CARDALE JONES OHIO STATE Even though his name is popular, I think he is the most underrated QB in the draft. He is more of a Pro-Style QB, but JT just fits OSUs offense better. To me he seems like the (project) with the highest upside by far. Also, in the 5th round, there is no reason not to take a chance on this guy. 193: R6P17 OT JOE DAHL WASHINGTON STATE Seems to project as a guard in the NFL, which could actually work out better for us depending on how Miller works out. He did gain about 5 pounds and grew an inch between the Senior Bowl and the Combine, so maybe he could try both RT and RG. Either way, he showed well at the Combine and seems like he could at the very least be good depth for the right side of our line. 219: R6P43 RB KENYAN DRAKE ALABAMA I know, I know. RB doesnt seem like too much of a need right now, but Kenyan didn't get to show much at Bama because of the Workhorse ability in Henry. What I did see was a RB with great vision and speed, along with a strong return game while also contributing to the other phases of Special Teams. I felt the need to draft two D-Lineman and two LBs, just to guarantee we have depth in both postions. Also, all four of those picks would contribute in all different ways, and could shore up our defense right away. Lawler can really work out for us as a potential #2, and would allow us to constantly switch the positions of each WR.
  18. Then funny thing about Charone was that he was rated higher coming out of HS than Sammy (ESPN). Good size, good speed. He really just never put it all together for us. His hands seem a bit suspect, as I've watched him miss long balls on many occasions. At the same time, he had the flashes of being great with some catches, it's just that consistency he lacks. If coached up, I think he can be a solid receiver. If we decided to wait to add a receiver, I wouldn't be mad with the pick starting at our pick In the fourth (hopefully the compensation pick). Everyone seems to like DJ around here, as do I. If he is around in the later rounds, he would be a great NT for this defense. Nothing flashy, but he has a great motor and a huge body to stuff up the middle for us. I'm sure he is on our radar, especially coming from Clemson with Rex.
  19. Yes I can.. Though I may be a little biased (I try not to be) Shaq Lawson: I think he is a solid prospect, but what most scouts have on him seem to be right. Even though he gets talked about when it comes to pass rushers, I believe his biggest strength is his run defense. He doesn't have great moves while rushing but gets past tackles with his strength, sort of similar to the observations of Bosa. He seems to get tired towards the end of games even though he was asked to do a lot here. When a play was needed to be made, he (or Ben Boulware) would pull through. He wasn't asked to cover much during college but has the ability to do so if asked. Personally he would be one of my top choices if he fell to us. Kevin Dodd: really come out of nowhere this year when we had to replace most of our starters. Solid all around DE as well, but I have always thought of Shaq as the better prospect. He only played one year of football prior to Clemson so he seems like he could continue to get better. My issue with that has been that he is 24 already, so he is still getting a late start. Also, as good as Dodd's last few games were, that national championship game really jolted him into the first round predictions ( Bama's RT looked like the worst tackle he faced all season). He could work out, but I would let another team take their chances. Not to get off topic, but from our defense, I think the most intriguing prospect is T.J. Green.
  20. Matthew Fairburn ‏@MatthewFairburn According to a source, the #Bills are bringing La. Tech DE Vernon Butler in for pre-draft visit. Nice fit with Rex
  21. This is exactly what I want to see.. we sat back last game and Tommy just picked us apart. Put all the chips on our secondary (who seem to now be the strength of the defense) and send guys every play. Offensively, I think Shady should be a huge part of the game, but I want to see him in the passing game. This would be a good time to show screens, not necessarily just dump offs. Lets just hope Rex doesn't try to out do himself against NE like he has for the past 5 years.
  22. Other than his diminishing ability (granted it's come from his age), when he was asked to come in last year he was ill-prepared to play. If I remember correctly he commented after our game against the jets about how he would be ready next time he was called on, and did the same thing.
  23. I'm still a student up at clemson and with regards to the comments on a lot of the league smoking weed... Totally true. Obviously while they were still in school I have taken a couple puffs with guys like tajh Boyd, nuk Hopkins, Dwayne Allen and of course Sammy. If people knew the extent of these athletes they would realize the herb really doesn't effect these guys on the field.
  24. It has been mentioned in other threads, but with this pick I hope the best case scenario is Corey Graham moving to free safety, with Aaron Williams moving to SS. Cornerbacks would then be Gilmore, McKelvin, and Darby. That could be a very talented secondary in my opinion.
  25. Martavis Bryant. Have to say though he is a tad faster and also had some great plays against much better competition. Still a good comparison. I think it was a great way to end the draft. saw a lot of fourth to fifth round projections
