  1. This is a good question Promo.

If you were to ask it again two years from now I imagine depending on each teams success will determine how many of us would vote then. If Cleveland is a playoff contender for the next 5 years I have to think more people will vote for the 17 year drought. I expect the same shift if we are good in two years and Cleveland is not.

He is Marsha's ball bot not Giselle's house boy.  You know he needs his balls softened.

Out of curiosity  what makes Rodak so bad? Or should I say worse than the other guys covering the Bills? I was thinking the other day how I don't think I can tell any of the reporters apart from their tweets except that Thad Brown tends to use the word brutal/horrible/etc... when describing Allen's miscues.

  3. Hmmm....

I'm listing guys who weren't just bad ALA Keith Ellison, debatably Chris Kelsey and Josh Reed, etc....I'm trying to list guys who were supposed to be starters and were soon replaced because of their ineptitude.

    (Of course) Maybin

    Chris Williams

    Derrick Dockery

    John McCargo

    Larry Tripplet

I guess when you suck at evaluating linemen that's one good way to ensure a playoff drought

We have all seen this before with new GM, HC in thinking that an average or below average joe can replace pro bowlers...and they can't!

The Bills attempted to replace pro bowl pro bowl LT Jason Peters with a 7th rounder and that was a failed position with numerous players not making the cut for a few years until the club drafted Cordy Glenn. Back then the Bills had an O line coach legend in Jim McNally who took a walk on TE and converted him into that pro bowl left tackle. Sadly McNally retired in 2007 and Jauron promoted within the Org.

Dick Jauron watched in horror as Jets NT Kriss Jenkins ate three Bills at the line and still got to the QB/RB play after play and the very next draft they drafted OC Eric Wood and OG Andy Levitre.

In 2010 Buddy Nix announced to the NFL world, "you're going to think I'm crazy but we're not that far away". In the offseason, Nix brought in OT Cornell Green at 2 mill per to help solidify the line and he lasted exactly five games before being cut. Luckily, Nix was able to find Kraig Urbik and Erik Pears off the waiver wire to help save part of the second half of the season.

It didn't help the first half as the 2010 Buffalo Bills went 0-8 with the QB's literally running for their lives and finished that year 4-10.

2018 could very well be another 2010 4-10 type season with a very bad offensive line.

This is certainly a real possibility. I would point out that Dawkins was Glenn's insurance as Groy with Wood. I'm not confident about our depth though I would think that if our line remains healthy (4 out of 5 did last year) it won't be a 2007/2010 type season. It probably won't be the last couple years where at least 3/5 spots have been solid or better either.

I just think it is difficult to even know what we have when our past offenses were not centered around it.

We have been (and may still be) a run dominant team that doesnt throw the ball as much as other teams......teams that throw the ball around are going to have better numbers and production from their pass catcher's by default.

Put a QB behind center that delivers the rock?   You might have a different result.

This is an excellent point. Of course I would keep in mind why the team has been a run dominant team. I think (and I'm sure it's debatable) Lynn, Roman and even to a lesser extent less talented coordinators were wise enough to play to our strength of running as opposed to passing.

Kinda harsh for a guy that hasn't had much of a chance to prove himself. I agree he has to prove himself. I wouldn't dump on him this early.

Anquan Boldin retired didn't he? I don't know how he would aquire stats for a team he's not even playing for when he's out saving the world. You gonna hold that against him? Sorry you said zero catches for him all year like he played for the team this year.

Kelvin Benjamin came in late and Peterman was the only guy that seemed to want to throw to him. Plus he got rocked in the leg. So didn't expect crazy stats. At least that was an attempt to give the struggling QBs a big target.

I wonder (not enough to actually look it up) what Peterman's passing rating is when he throws to Benjamin.

As time has gone on has the NFL not become less of a run league and more of a passing league?  So if he has been away from the NFL for a while would it not make sense that he would adapt his offensive philosophy to modern NFL if he is a guy that adapts to his takent and innovative which has been said about him more then a few times?

Im not defending the hire...im not bagging on t he hire....I think we need to wait and see

Not only that, but sometimes doing the opposite of the general trend can work for a team. New England set a trend of running 2 or 3 TE sets with Gronk and Hernandez as most teams were going smaller and faster on defense to counter more of passing in the NFL. That worked out for them pretty well.

I appreciate your reasonable, let's wait and see. I agree.
