That could be a good point actually where he will see lesser DBs out there.  He struggled majorly against teams top corners last year.  Maybe he can’t handle the better corners but could shine against the opponents 2nd or 3rd corner.  Kind of like Robert Woods wasn’t quite good enough to be a #1 and face the opponents top DB each week but is flourishing in LA with guys like Cooks and Watkins drawing the top DB the last two seasons there.

That's what I'm expecting. Currently I see Zay's projection to that of Josh Reed. Be a #3 receiver just fine, but will disappear against stronger competition.

For those of us who have followed his camp observations for years...

Astro doesn’t post his TC notes here anymore but he will be posting them on the Bills Mafia website every day at 1pm. He said he will be at camp every day.

Astro is such a good poster, his posts are still some of the best here and he doesn't even come to the website anymore.

Why? It's the team's responsibility to do what's best for them. Completely defensible. Players do what they want and teams do what they want as well. It's a business.

He'll get plenty of opportunities to sign and play for other teams.

I think it comes down to consistency. If a fan gets mad at a player like Bell sitting out all season then in turn it would make sense for them to get mad at this. Likewise if they have no problem with a player like Bell sitting out then this too should be okay.

    It would "Look" premature.

A little off topic but I don't feel like starting a Thread.

Who was the better player heading into FA?   Shaw Lawson or Preston Brown?

I find them both to be to very similar in the sense that their both serviceable but not spectacular.

I remember an FA article that described Preston as "average in every sense of the word". I think Shaq does certain things above average while others medoicre or below average while as whole I feel like his play is average-solid. Overall though I think I'd pick Shaq. I don't know what others think.

I think it’s a solid pick but man, some you are insane.  You just rip people who have the audacity not to act like everything the Bills do is perfect.  A bunch of soccer moms.

I probably ripped the author for saying that.  It’s great to be passionate about the Bills but it’s almost cult like.  Seems like cult following things is in now.

And it's that mentality that has driven away quality posters. I just don't get it. Like whether the guy likes the Jets or not does that really make a difference as to his ability to evaluate Cody Ford? In June? As a rookie?

I've learned to trust Joe B's QB observations. He was always more critical on our QBs than others, and he has thus turned out to be right (EJ comes to mind most prominently).

Here he is not nearly as kind to Jackson as Parrino and Brown. And I trust it.

Which also is good on your part. Sometimes the idea of being critical of any Bill prior to August is considered blasphemy.

Yeah, I was going to post something similar.  We definitely upgraded but Mills isn’t that bad and he’s tough.  I won’t be thrilled with him starting again but he’s not nearly as bad as people think.

of course some fans laughed at NE for spending money on Gilmore.

He reminds me of Chris Kelsay or Josh Reed. Clearly good enough to survive multiple regimes and start, yet none of the fans are ever really thrilled to see him starting.

On ther bright side......catch the ball, win the game and maybe we don’t have Ed Oliver for next year? That’s all I got......

    It’s still hurts.....

Maybe I missed it, but on that lowlight reel I think Clay only shows up for that one drop. Man, talk about the most inopportune time for that to happen.

And Charles Clay was inches away from a dramatic game winner that would have put Allen’s rookie season into folklore...

Looking back... that drop was the best thing that happened all season... it allowed us to pick Ed Oliver...

that brings me back to another famous drop... Stevie Johnson vs the Steelers... that drop also secured us Marcell Dareus...

    funny how History repeats...

but i have a funny feeling that It will all work out for the positive this time...

the coach, GM and staff are all on the same page and the arrow is definitely pointing up...

Ed Oliver welcome To Buffalo... Charles Clay... thank you for being a bum lol

it really is a game of inches

Dareus was really good until he got his 2nd contract/Ryan came to town. I wonder if those two were handled differently if we'd still be lamenting that pick.

he has shown from what I've read to be very conservative with his dough. maybe he just wants to add more to the pot? no pun intended

He might simply love the game. There was that game against the Chiefs in Oakland where he got ejected and then went into the stands and watched the game with the fans.
