  1. The first couple of years here, I thought he just needed a little bit of time to catch on, but it never happened. Instead, he started playing with attitude on special teams (and did a fairly good job) but was a huge liability at corner. Can't remember what game it was, but the opposing QB went right at him repeatedly until they took him out.

  2. I think what a lot of people don't understand about the Watkins trade was that Whaley knew, as did most pro scouts and personnel guys, that Watkins was as good as he has played the last half of this season. He was the very best player in the draft. He was a sure fire star player. The only such player in the draft. Most #1 picks are crap shoots. You will usually get a pretty good player but half of them turn out to be just decent or busts. Whaley decided, correctly, that if you can get a sure fire star for a #9 and a #15 or so pick you do it every single time. I would gladly not have a #1 every other year if the one guy you get was the best rated player in the draft and a sure fire star.

Thats conjecture. How do you know he knew?

  3. In January when Wrecks was hired, I made a few posts about how you guys (and gals) would want Rex out of here before long. I admit I'm too lazy to look through the posts from the past 11 months to see, so this is an honest post and not a troll attempt.

At the time, I was told by most responders that the Jets front office was to blame and that Rex would be successful in Buffalo because he would have the support of the front office. My thoughts on Rex being a clown with no ability to discipline his team, have input into an offense, and/or motivate the team consistently enough were met as unsubstantiated opinions and nothing more.

What's the general consensus on him as a coach as we stand heading into the final week against my Jets? I want this game bad, and I know that despite his many shortcomings, Rex can get a team motivated for any one single game as well as anyone.

    Your thoughts, Bills Nation?

Turns out you were pretty much right if that was your opinion before the season. Penalties killed us all year long. Players quit. We all know the story.

The most surprising part is the D not responding at all to his scheme.

Its not surprising that most teams would have given him another chance just like the Bills, sighting the Jets mess of a front office as the reason why they looked so bad at the end of his tenure in NJ.

The people who really watched those Jets games knew it though. The fans could see right through him, just like you Wrecks. Ill hand it to ya, Jets fans arent the best looking, the smartest, the most rational or even smart at all, but if there is one thing that NYC knows, its football. Guys like you and Spags who suffered with this fool for too long. The type of guys who beat their sisters with wooden spaghetti spoons.

Well he's ours now, and like you said, for one game, Rex can be Swayze in Roadhouse. So whats your prediction for this Sunday? Mine, 41-24 Bills.

  4. I would love for the Bills to draft Tyler Metakevich from Temple and turn him into a safety.

Hes a 230lb linebacker who has great hands, instincts, and tackles about as good as you can. Hes been running the Temple D for the past few years and just won the Bednarick award for the best defender in the country.

The problem is that he'll never make it as a LB in the nfl since hes undersized. He'll end up like Kiko hurt all the time.

I think he'll be better used as a DB who is asked to frequent the box alot of the time.
