  1. I don't mind the gamble if 1. we still try and trade up to get our guy 2. we don't have to give up a lot to get him and 3. we don't have to pay him more than 8 million a year if we can extend him. I don't see Philly trading him unless its for a 1st rd pick which is insanity. If someone does give up a first for him they will need to extend his contract because who is giving up a 1st for a qb for 1 year. The number to resign him will be high due to the enormous contracts qbs are getting these days
  2. He also faced 2 of the worst in dal and Oakland in the reg season and looked like a lost little rookie. You don't know Arnold is bringing us a superbowl anymore than I know Foles isn't. Its all a guessing game at this point
  3. If Nick Foles is traded, which I don't think he will be, he will get an extension of at least 80 million. He going to be expensive to trade for right now and why would anyone give up a lot to trade for a guy for 1 year. If you trade for him you obviously think hes the missing link and you want to lock him up
  4. Correct we'd be getting Foles as is right now, Pretty good eh that's debatable for me. He had a great playoff run and looked so so in a few of his regular season games. Hes signed for 1 year so we would need to extend him lets lowball and say 4 year 80 million 45 guaranteed extension so we would have him the next 5 years. I think there is a better chance Rosen or Darnold lead us to a superbowl before Foles would, and be on a rookie contract. Also we would have those guys for the next 10-12 years. There is gonna be risk in either move. Do we take Foles and think, with his whole body of work , that we've seen enough and hes the guy to win us a super bowl, or do we say gamble take a guy that looks like the real deal in college and may be a superstar or may flop on his face. I don't know the answer to that but I know id rather gamble at greatness then settle
  5. Se we get rid of Dareus and sign Richardson. Same player same attitude same drug problems. Will be the same huge contract. No thanks rather draft one
  6. ok so 1 year and 5 games wonder. Hes been bad thru out majority of his career. So do you think we can win the super bowl with him next year? do you think we can win a super bowl with him the next few years?
  7. I was simply pointing out one year wonder type qbs. Foles got hot and looked great for the playoffs and superbowl but I dont think hes a franchise qb
  8. Unfortunately I remember those years far too well. I also remember the Jim Kelly years. Unfortunately for us those are the only 1st rd QBs weve selected since 1983. Im just hoping if they do trade up and draft a qb that hes more Jimbo than EJ we just have 2 different view on how to get to the same spot. For both our sakes I hope 1 of us is right.
  9. Im not assuming im hoping. Drafting a qb in the first round, or any round, this day in ager is a complete crapshoot. He could turn out to be Jamarcus Russell or Leaf. But could be Elway or Montana. I just want them to take a shot at greatness and not settle for getting by. Ive just had too many years of that. If we fail and go 3-13 so be it then we try again but draft at the top of the draft. If we get foles and go 9-7 and miss the playoffs or go out in the first round then its the same old form the bills that we are used to
  10. Yes I am. Id much rather gamble then settle for one and a 9-7 record every year Let me follow that up by saying if the bills have identified a guy they feel that way about. then yes id give up every pick in this years draft to get that guy
  11. that's the logic the organization has had for the last 20 years and why we had a 17 year drought. Lets take a chance trade up; and get our guy! Trade all our picks if need be I honestly don't care if we get that guy!
  12. Id feel better with that then going 9-7 or 8-8 for 3 years and still needing to get a qb and having to pick at 15 again to try and get one
  13. trent dilfer won a super bowl too Rex Grossman won a NFCC game doesn't mean you build a team around them. We cant identify one its a lot of luck and hopefully good scouting. There is just a better chance of us drafting one then if we sign one of those guys. Id rather gamble on a rookie drafted high then settle for any of them guys. All of those free agents and Foles we know aren't going to be that guy, as we have seen from their years of past play. If we trade for Foles we will have to sign him to a long term deal based on a few good games and im not ready to advocate for that. Yeah they may be serviceable and win you some games possibly get you to the playoffs, im not disputing that. I want superbowls. I want a dominant team. Im sick of middle of the road. Im not willing to give up assets for someone who got lucky a few good games with a great team around him. Id rather take those assets, trade up and draft a guy that hasn't shown what he is yet and possibly be great.
  14. Well they certainly aren't if we trade for foles, sign Bradford, keenum etc. We already know what those guys are. Im just saying that id rather gamble on trading up and drafting a legit franchise QB, if the bills identify one of them as one, than sign a guy we know wont be
  15. I agree I think this kid is a baller. Ive heard the pats do too. I wouldn't even be upset if we couldn't trade up if we waited and tried to get this kid in the 2nd
  16. 2016 https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing/2016/all#average-intended-yards 2nd last on aiy ( avg intended air yards) amongst qualified qbs No foles has not shown that he can be good consistently. I love your point because if we do trade for him we immediately need to extend him or its just stupid to trade for him in the first place.
  17. I cant argue with you this year but if you think that Alex Smith, before this year, was anything more than an average qb your standards are low. Im over settling for mediocrity I want our next Kelly, Elway, Montana, Brees and I don't think we should stop until we find that guy. I don't think Foles, smith, keenum, or Bradford are anything more than average QB's at best. Im done with those type of players at the qb position. Give me average DT or CB's instead of drafting them high and do what you need to in order to get a legit franchise qb
  18. I wish we as fanbase would just stop looking for recycled qbs and debating on how they are better than drafting one. That's the problem with this team the past 17 years. We keep trying to convince ourselves that orton, fitz, tyrod, and others will be good enough if we just give them the best running game and the best d and magical pixie dust and we can win a super bowl. IT DOESNT WORK!!! Get A franchise qb in the draft, trade everything if need be and get the guy you think can be that guy. If it doesn't work then oh well we don't make the playoffs again. We are used to that but at least they tried to win it all So im assuming you are in favor of trading for Nick Foles?
  19. if he was on Buffalo for the past 5 years he would've been run out of town the same way Tyrod is. Hes average and afraid to throw the ball downfield (until this year) Tyrod had very close stats as far as Completion % Int % and qbr. He was laking the wins but I think you trade smith for tyrod and tyrod wins as many as Smith did for KC. They are both avg QB's that drive fans and coaches nuts with their refusal to throw anything over 10 yards
  20. He could also muster 0 starts under andy Reid with a very average Alex SMith in front of him. Smith until this year was a very average qb
  21. NO! period. Foles is hot garbage. if hes traded someone will have overpayed and just look at the film for the past 3 or 4 years on him. NO
  22. If they identify him as the next drew brees or Brady id give up all my picks the next 2 years and smile when done. I don't think a whole lot of people on here wouldn't. U can add pieces in free agency and have a franchise qb for a minimal contract for 5 years. Now im not saying Rosen is a brees or Brady but if mc dermott and Beane feel that he is why not do it. Yea its a big risk but after the past 17 years of 9-7, 8-8, 6-10 who cares this franchise needs a QB period. those guys haven't always had a lot of weapons or great O lines but they have been successful. A great Qb masks a lot of other issues.
  23. I couldn't agree more. Glenn, if healthy is a premier LT and they aren't easy to come by. Him and dawkins would stabilize our line for the next few years until Dawkins needed to be paid. Id rather part with draft picks as they are unknown at this point
  24. I think they will address the qb in the draft whether that means trade up, stay put, or later rounds. I don't see them cutting clay because we would save nothing on the cap to do so. I wouldn't hate the signing of Wallace if it was for like 3-4 mill per year
