  1. There is, of course, Donald Trump's evil brain, the Jewish guy with the hair from a spray can.
  2. Names being kicked about: - Josh Shapiro, to help in PA - James Stavridis (former NATO commander) to help with foreign policy/defense credentials - Mark Kelly, to help in AZ Who'd you like to see?
  3. You aren't remotely embarrassed that you've expended so much time cutting down Joe Biden that it finally worked and now you already miss having him as an opponent? Republicans now have the old nominee. You know, the one whose father died of Alzheimer's. 🙄
  4. Absolutely. Similar thing. Bright, incredibly ambitious. And Wes Moore has pretty much exactly the same level of work experience as JD Vance. If I'm one of those Dem insiders I'm running Wes Moore for President or at least VP. The choice of Vance has killed any "too inexperienced" argument.
  5. A question: didn't people say the same things about Obama? And they were right to ask about who this man really was.
  6. It strikes me that Vance has one seriously underestimated talent: the ability to suck up to his bosses in the most committed way. How does a kid from a small town with a broken family sign up for the Marines after high school and wind up with a cushy assignment doing publicity/"reporting" for the Marine Corps? How does a kid from a state school somehow become the protege of law prof/author Amy Chua (of the best-selling Tiger Mom book)? How does a kid from Yale Law not follow the standard Yale Law career path - the one followed by his wife, clerking for top federal judges - but instead becomes the protege of billionaire Peter Thiel, never practicing law at all and despite having no background in finance/venture capital? And how does this same young man viciously criticize charlatan Donald Trump only to become a truer believer in Trumpism than Trump himself? He is smart and talented, but face facts: some of that talent is a rare talent at bs and sucking up to the rich and powerful. He is hugely ambitious, and now at 39, without any real record of success in any actual job (other than as a memoirist) he now finds himself the leading candidate to be president in 2029, if not sooner (Trump is no spring chicken). There's some good stories out there about his meteoric rise that we'll be hearing more about as the campaign continues.
  7. Althouse is now a retired law professor who hid her Trumpie leanings until she retired. Profiles in courage!
  8. When is the last time a sniper shot at a president? 1963, JFK. Since then we've had other shootings - Ford 2X, both up close. Reagan: up close. We've seen other politicians worldwide stabbed and shot at, but I can't recall one that was a sniper. Non-presidents: RFK Jr, up close. Steve Scalise, etc. Up close. MLK is the only post-JFK sniper attack I can recall. Maybe Secret Service (including the rooftop snipers they deployed) became a little too focused on threats in the immediate crowd - the guy who leaves a knife somewhere inside the security perimeter, etc. I would imagine that that's what they were most focused on because that's the kind of attacks we've seen in the last 50+ years.
  9. At least you get that I'm trolling some of the "special" posters here.
  10. Right. He'll turn 31 during the season. Look at the great WRs throughout recent NFL history and you'll see that it is a rare one indeed who doesn't show diminished production in his 30s. An article from a fantasy football site, but the stats are the stats: https://www.fantasylife.com/articles/redraft/how-does-age-impact-wr-performance-in-fantasy-football#:~:text=At age 30%2C WRs can,to 40% below prime years.
  11. Trump in his first comment about getting shot, surreptitiously recorded by someone in the room with RFK Jr: it felt like a "big mosquito" biting him. Trump in his first public comment about it, in the RNC speech: " I heard a loud whizzing sound and felt something hit me really, really hard. On my right ear. I said to myself, “Wow, what was that? It can only be a bullet.” Hmm. Big mosquito that hit really, really hard such that it could only be a bullet mosquito. And then why were his shoes not on? Since when does someone ducking behind a lectern lose his shoes? Many questions, many, many questions.
  12. So effin insane. A good reminder of the kinds of people who still populate this place. DR disciples.
  13. What on earth does ESG investing have to do with Crowd Strike pushing out a defective update? They wanted to screw up air travel because ... what? Because air travel produces carbon emissions? If so, why are they selling to Microsoft and in turn to airlines in the first place? This amounts to just shouting out terms without understanding what any of them mean. Microsoft! ESG! Black Rock!
  14. Grassy knoll. RFK Jr. telling us that Sirhan - on camera, actually shooting his father - wasn't the real gunman. Coretta Scott King telling us that James Earl Ray wasn't the real assassin. 60 years later, no proof of any of these. People don't like to believe that sometimes bad things happen because bad people are out there.
  15. Just you and NC Bills. But every forum has to have a couple of 'em.
  16. I would have gone with massive heart attack while hyped up on Viagra, on top of a hooker. Similar to Nelson Rockefeller. But that's just me.
  17. And remember, right wing social media is so much more reliable than the mainstream media ... ... the real story is what is JFK Jr (Vince Fusca, QAnon Hero) doing there right behind Trump? I thought QAnon was dead. It lives!! I'm kidding. Obviously they haven't disavowed QAnon; they like to keep their idiot voting bloc intact while trying to expand their appeal (a little). But look how easy it is. I could spin a whole Trump Assassination Attempt Conspiracy just out of that fact. "The real Deep State - the one identified by QAnon - is disappointed in Trump for not following through on their plan to have him work with the military to restore himself to the Presidency in 2021. Make no mistake - they knew JD Vance, a smarter, more Machiavellian operator - would be the man to carry out the plan. So as soon as it became obvious to Insiders that Vance was the choice, the plan to eliminate Trump kicked into action. Fusca was stationed there in his clearly visible hat (standing most of the time) to provide assistance with targeting." Tell me how that isn't at least as compelling as competing nonsense.
  18. Too many threads. I dunked on the rubes on another one. Not sure what the paranoid title was since our resident fool keeps changing them.
