  1. I expect a lot of short zone from jets LB’s and man on the outside. I don’t think they will spy with Mosley. They will slide the zone if Allen escapes the pocket and use more safeties than LB’s to cover the tight ends. This could open up deep outside throws with a single deep safety.

If Josh should run outside expect 2 short zone LB’s to hit him. “Take the head off the snake” if you will.

We should have wheel routes open to backs and Cole Beasley should be open on intermediate routes if Josh gets outside. However if Josh stays in the pocket (due to good protection or outside pass rush), we could see some down field shots.

We all expect Gregg-o to blitz but I think it will be less than a typical amount from him. Probably delayed blitzes from short zone LB’s.

Allen will take some shots this game but he will have opportunities deep in my opinion. If he misses it will be single coverage and he will look very bad but he has an equal chance to show his accuracy improvements. I don’t see him being able to run consistently however.

It’s a zero or hero game for Josh.

  2. Here is what I’d like at receiver:

    Brown

    Beasley

    Roberts

    Foster

    The Duke

McCloud or McKenzie (shifting toward McKenzie he seems more durable/ I remember Ray Ray being injured more than McKenzie)

bye bye Zay, it sounds like he worked out a lot in the off season but I just have seen way more negatives in his play than the others have shown.

  3. WR and RB cuts will make half of us unhappy. If it were up to me I’d say dump Yelden and possibly another because we all know they will keep Patrick DiMarco for some odd reason (I think it would be a trade of McCoy). As far as receivers go Brown and Beasley and Roberts are safe and then it gets crazy.. I’d like to keep Williams, Foster and McCloud. That means Zay would be out. I think we’ve seen enough. Only chance Zay should have is if they count Roberts as a core special teamer and not WR for numbers purposes.

    Also, please dump Star

I remember a playoff game years ago. Nate Odoms just ran up to a guy and nonchalantly took the ball from him, said thank you and ran it in!

I think it was a night game against the Raiders. It was right in front of me. Awesome comeback in that one

  5. How often does a wr get to run 40 yards unimpeded? I would never again want to trade up for a WR. I don’t think it’s impossible for him to be good in the league but it sounds like it could be a process with the agility numbers. Not much difference in great and average physically as far as receivers go. Agility is one of those difference making factors that the great ones have.

OL AND DL early please. We have to be better at the line of scrimmage.

The QB's you quoted earlier especially Montana....had like 20 attempts his first year... ....anyhow...Steve Young was 65 % passer in college.  He was a 65% passer in the pros.  Aikman was a 63% passer in College and a 61% passer in the pros.  Trubisky was a 67% completion thrower in college.....I don't understand your point...All these guys were accurate passers who were also accurate in the pros...They all progressed (except Trubs who only played one year) while in college.  They were the passers everyone thought they were.  Allen is the passer everyone thought he was.

    How about Brett Favre?

No...they would appear to have quite a bit in common at this point.

What is an acceptable completion PCT for Allen?

I don’t know but I would accept lower from Allen based on the fact that he attempts more throws downfield. I’ll take it because the risk reward is there for me. Especially since the defense drops and gives him huge spaces to scramble like he showed today.

I agree Allen is very talented.  Great build...great athlete...great runner...super strong arm...leader...etc....he isn't accurate.  He never has been.  This isn't some brilliant observation on my part....all I am saying is that accuracy is the toughest skill to have, to improve, to work on....it's just odd to me, that so many poeple think this is an "easy" fix..."just" need to fix his accuracy.  he "just" needs some better supporting cast (even though others seem to be able to perform with this group)

Who exactly has performed better than him with this group?

Josh missed a couple throws that should have been TDs. One to Jones in the EZ. Threw behind him. Their was another to a wide open Receiver ( can't remember who) on the sideline that had nothing but daylight and he overthrew him.  I do blame this lose on Josh. I also see him improving so I have hope.

I love our kicker but he left 4 points on the table. So who are we blaming again?

Teller has some magic to him?

Seriously, pancakes over pancakes.Shady is thankful more than we are that Ducasse is outta there. He's like a mentally stable Incognito. ?playing very well

Couldn’t agree more. He jumped out in the pre-season to me and every week he was inactive I’d just get more angry. Been banging that drum all season. Teller is a beast
