  1. Exactly why we are seeing all this action, couldn't agree more. I think dude from the eagles would work out the best provided the other outside linebacker is very fast/athletic. Ps. Fred isn't dead bruddah
  2. Because we don't need a tight end, not before the draft not now, not during upcoming training camp. I'm so glad we didn't take Ebron, the only need we have to address still is 4-3 DE to play opposite Mario. Branch is a 3-4 DE/4-3 DT (IMO). I'd give this draft a 8.5 out of 10.
  3. I wouldn't worry, I think we've seen EJ's "floor"
  4. Really impressed with the past two drafts Doug has the common sense that was absent in most drafts over the past 20 years. I think the past two drafts were great, this draft is even better actually. I'm not even iffy about any of these picks. Doug W is a rockstar GM and the type of guy buffalo tends to lose (jerry butler and too many good defensive coaches to mention). Marrone is being put in a very good position to succeed and it needs to happen. This is our best chance we've had in a long time to do something.
  5. I think that picking an inside linebacker instead of a DE here means we will be seeing more of the 3-4 than we thought
  6. I think if anything this underscores our need for a DE. Branch can play DT in a 4-3. He's a 3-4 DE Anyway. He's a little too "rotund" for a 4-3 DE. Hope we take a DE in round 2 or 3. Hopefully, that other no name combine freak with awesome measurables, completely forgot who he is but had comparable measurements to a lot of Clowneys.
  7. Not what he was saying, sometimes I think people read These threads to get angry and chastise. I think it would be great if we could stick to the topic and argue the point or premise instead of making judgments.
  8. I like the whole staff also, but I think you are right on. I hope they would give this crew that third year though
  9. So why did you have such a different response in the beginning of the thread Kirby? Agreed but if we don't make the playoffs it's all in play. Except OL is a bigger need than WR, so it's riskier because of that. Obviously from the link above I'm not the only one who feels that the premise of this thread is a legitimate one. Say what you want about my examples but I stand by the fact that the offensive line is our most glaring need and if they don't address it successfully(wins/losses) this off season in the draft or free agency ( pretty much too late), a new owner will probably fire the Doug's.
  10. So now you've contradicted yourself. So which way do you draft from those two options?
  11. Wow, seriously? Could you not understand the context? That pick COULD ABSOLUTELY BE MISCONSTRUED AS A LUXARY PICK BY A NEW OWNER, not me or us but by a new owner who would wonder why we didn't take a "sure thing" OT. These things happen a lot, basically GMs get fired for this type of thing OFTEN. I could have used a great many different examples and I guess I should have picked something easier to imagine for you. Repeat: I don't think it's a luxury pick. I actually would like the Bills to take Evans. I also think that if they take him with one of the top left tackles available (I don't think it's likely either) they could lose their jobs that much easier when a new owner comes in. In other words I'm speculating on how new ownership on the horizon may make them select differently In the draft
  12. So it makes no sense and then you get it. C'mon. Anyway, to clarify for you... If our biggest need is offensive tackle and everyone knows our biggest need is offensive tackle and Robinson is somehow available, but... So is Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans ( this is to illustrate a point, I don't think that this is necessarily going to happen) and you pick Robinson, that would be "safe". Now if you instead pick one of the two receivers mentioned instead of Robinson because their happens to be some tackle in round five from some second rate college that your scouting department has convinced you can start, that would be a not "safe" move. Is that better? it's hypothetical and all but that's the type of situation I was eluding to.
  13. My trolling friend, I want Evans more than any other player actually. Read it again and maybe you can figure it out for yourself. Hint: it's called seeing different sides to a topic.
  14. The more I think about it the more I am convincing myself that we won't see a shocking pick in the first round or two. Purely speculative but I believe Whaley & co. Will play it safe and not make a "spiller" type pick eg: surprise in a position where we are set. To me this means Tackle if Robinson or Matthews is available or Barr if the obvious top two defenders are gone. As much as I would love Evans size, our FO would have to answer to a new owner about making a luxury pick. I think picking Ebron would result in questions about chandlers contract and what they were thinking there.. It's year two for them so the pressure for results is already huge and with looming new ownership it may as well be year three. Thoughts?
  15. So who's left for a veteran arm? Grossman?
  16. I'd like to have him, but I don't think he gets by Tampa bay now.
  17. I really think that it's not a smoke screen and they are going their due diligence in putting together a BPA list. Now the smokescreen will come when they talk to other scouts but I feel like they are putting themselves in a position to get good value if a trade down offer happens that they can't refuse.
  18. Huh? Watkins catches at the line and plays like a running back, Harrison was a much better receiver, a whole different class. Hall of fame. Not at all like a soon to be rookie who catches screens I mean like megatron BTW (Evans)
  19. Agreed, at least until Mathews rookie deal expired and that would be our best window to make some good runs
  20. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1754280/robert-woods here http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=113995&draftyear=2013&genpos=WR http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/4/26/4188400/nfl-draft-2013-results-picks-robert-woods-buffalo-bills Here I matched your 3 sources, there are more but it's how I remember his numbers from the combine and with the fact that I was .01 seconds off a year later without looking... I bet on me.
  21. Sorry mcbride, but you need a re google, Evans is mike yes, I rounded. Woods ran a 4.42 not a 4.41, but you were WAY off and Graham ran a 4.41. Any way Graham and woods are faster than Watkins. So is Goodwin. Already said I was wrong about williams. The larger point I was making was that we have 3 receivers on the team faster than Watkins. I am correct with that and I'm also correct when I say that Watkins had most of his passes caught around the line of scrimmage(great diagram in a Watkins based thread on the wall), those will absolutely not be as successful for him in the NFL. P.s. I don't believe that anyone claimed Evans was on the team :/
  22. Nope, I'm not saying that. What I am saying is that I would take mike Evans over any of the receivers you just mentioned plus Sammy Watkins
  23. I really don't think so, it's the guys with a similar frame as Watkins that don't know when to go down that make some plays, no doubt but in the NFL, I feel like it's a recipe for an injury marked career, IMO. I think we don't need him. You are correct, but I will take 6'5" /4.5 over 6'1" /4.43 all day
  24. That makes sense TPS and I'd love it if it happened
