  1. I think the way the question was asked to McDermott, any NFL coach would say, "Yes, I like to be aggressive." The word aggressive is the opposite of passive and NFL coaches aren't going to say they are passive as it doesn't sound manly. Remember Gregg Williams and making them defend every inch of the field?!

We won't know for sure until the real games start.

  2. The three team that traded out of pick 2, 10 & 12 where the QBs were selected all needed QBs, but they all traded out anyway. All three teams have regimes that are on their first or second season. Only one of the 3 teams that traded up was in that position - Chicago who went from 3 to 2 - and they traded out with SF who might be waiting on Cousins. For those reasons and because Trubisky was out of range for B-lo anyway I'll disregard that trade. KC-Buffalo and Houston-Cleveland are different situations. KC and Houston are feeling pressure to find their QBs of the future, take a step forward and win now. Both look to be a QB away. But was either Mahomes or Watson really worth it? Two very QB needy teams didn't think so. I didn't see it in those two (or Trubisky for that matter). It sure looks like KC and Houston moved up and reached due to the pressure to win now. The teams that moved back didn't see QBs worth at top 10 or 12 pick and took advantage of the teams that needed a shot at one right now.

Buffalo and Cleveland are certainly not model franchises. As for assuming teams like Cleveland Buffalo will try to grab a QB, why assume that? Buffalo's off-season indicated that the key decision maker, a first year head coach wanted to give the Tyrod thing another spin. So Buffalo punted on QB high. Cleveland used to take guys in the first but their analytics guys seem to want to keep trading back and taking random guys in the 2nd or 3rd now.

  3. Maybe you should see how the season goes first, after all you liked mahomes who has less talent than Allen.

More talent at what? Allen can certainly improve but right now he is very overhyped based on what he has done, nothing. You might drool over 56 percent completion in the Mountain West, I think it's hilarious.

  4.

I did a mock draft a couple weeks ago for Yolo and gave Falk to the Bills with the KC pick (Vegas odds, early 20's).

Obviously difficult to say without knowing who declares etc. but he seems more of a later part of R1 type on talent.

Who does he remind you of?

  5. Can confirm that 2015 Baker Mayfield is still some kind of ridiculous Johnny Football/Matt Stafford love child. I forgot how much I adore the guy.

Finished up Luke Falk earlier and come out of it really impressed. Still needs to speed up his process and stop walking into pressure but he's definitely on the "potential 1st rounder" list for now. Graded out really well on his 11-20 yard throws.

Do you see Falk as a high first or too early?

  6. That is a basic statement. Who would argue that? Your constant banter from the negative without facts to back you up, apparently now even making stuff up at times, does get tiresome. That is the main thing under scrutiny right now. Admitting when you are wrong also seems to be an m.o. of yours as well. Work on it.

Work on yourself. If you can't understand basic sentences then that is on you.

  7. When the Colts let their scouts go.

The principle I was defending was getting your best people in place before the draft. The Indy GM was hired in January and ran the draft. Our GM came in after the draft. The GM is more important and you want your best personnel guys working together. If you like the new hires you will have to admit they played no role in the last draft.

  8.

I see ur point...but I'm not sure if it makes that big of a difference...supposedly Carolina had similar prospects ranked where the Bills had them ranked, as I'm sure other teams did as well.

If Beane won't make that much of a difference then why celebrate his hiring? I am not negative on Beane himself. I just have no idea who is doing what and that has been the same Buffalo Bills deal we have had since Levy/Jauron/Modrak.

  9.

Yup. But their teams might well not have let them go in the middle of draft season. Hard to say.

Indianapolis got their GM and staff in place in January. I can't say every good scout would have been allowed to leave before the draft but you want the best guys you can get working together. The Bills method was to keep on Whaley and scouts and not listen to them. Can't say having your coach pick guys off a board from scouts he is firing sounds like the best approach.

Unless Sean is the actual GM and will just pick players anyway. In that case Bills are going to be in trouble next draft as well.
