Until recently, I had been in the "take who's there or even move back and increase chances of a hit by picking multiple receivers."  However, I am starting to come around on the swing for the fences idea.  Next year's first and second sounds like a lot, but here's what is making it an easier pill for me to swallow.  If you think, as I do, that Minnesota is gonna stink this year, you can hang on to their second and give away ours.  That means that if you factor in what we got for Diggs, we are only moving back a few spots.  Also, because we have taken on Diggs' cap hit this year, it should free up some money to use to fill a hole or two next year (like signing a center or safety).  I think we'd be okay giving up those high picks.  Number 60 is tough though, particularly considering we got hosed by the NFL on what we thought was going to be a third round comp pick.

I’m saying it’s going to cost both seconds next year.  They know our pick could be 55-64 range.

It’s going to cost 4-5 high picks to get to 9.

And we won’t see a first or second round pick again until 2026 barring trading in.

Yep. Bills don't have enough elite talent on this team.

A lot of good players, but not elite players outside of Josh.

If beane thinks Odunze or Nabers is gonna be a pro bowler for the next 5-8 years, go get him

It will cost next years first and both seconds. And probably pick 60 in this draft.

When you are retooling like we are I’m not sure you SHOULD do that.

But if you’re the Bears at 9 - do you do that?

    Maybe.  But I doubt it.

  3. People under appreciate what Torrence did for this Oline and running game.  Him next to Brown total maulers in the run game - Brown was solid all around playing next to a rookie.

Still don’t understand why we want to tweak too much when we can draft C1 and add to that - we could realistically field 4 all pros on the Oline if Center 1 in the draft comes in and is elite.

My ideal draft is WR RD 1 then trading up in RD 2 to get Frazier.

The league is swinging back to being able to run the ball.  Not as a feature but as a cheat code against small fast defenses.

If Barton fell - there’s your LG.  That’s an intriguing option to.

@GunnerBill great job as always - any idea why WR has gone from "We may see 7 receivers in the first round" to only 5?  Mitchell/Legette/Franklin/McConkey all not being selected in the first.  Does that say more about the concerns of the talent, or the addressing of other needs by teams?

I can see this happening bc of the depth at the position and the debate after the top 3.

    Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

    Btw….

Eric Wood was drafted 28th overall just sayin….

    *ducks*

Not gonna lie. This is how I felt today.

Might not be wrong. I have admitted in the past that I haven’t done a lot of work on the QBs. As a Bills fan we haven’t had a need to watch them for a while. Fact is, I could have had Pennix if I wanted him, that’s who the Raiders took, no?

I have weapons for the foreseeable future, and I still have 3 more picks in the next 37 picks and another 6 to back that up to move up more if needed. I also walk away with an extra 1st rounder next year which I’m pretty happy about.

I’ll get 2-3 contributors out of the OL/DL in the rest of this draft (had it moved on) that I’d feel fine about. And if my QB didn’t show signs of progression throughout the season I wouldn’t hesitate to package him along with my 2 first rounders next year to move up for whoever is the next big thing. The Commanders will be ok.

Oh, I was talking about how great I am

I do like how you attacked this draft for sure.

I’d be furious if I were a redskins fan.  Now I’d have 3 stud WRs (and a very good WR4-5’s) with no QB to throw to them….who has no OL to block for him and no pass rush to get the D off the field.  One year at a time I guess.

I’ld probably feel the same way when the skins draft Daniels over Maye tomorrow night, but drafting 2 WRs and neglecting the OL and DL is reckless imo.

all comes down to your opinion of the QBs. I wanted Josh Rosen. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Im not talking about what mrags is doing - I’m just speculating - they have all the capital they need and couldn’t possibly be in a better spot to pull off an Aiyuk trade if they want to.

    Or Higgins.

The Commanders had been attempting to move up since 16 to take Thomas. Kept missing out in the deals. The Bills jumped me for the guy I wanted all along. Was offering both 2nds next year to move up along with 40. Missed out on the deals.

inatead of getting Thomas I did the next best thing. Took the best all around route runner and best speed guy in the draft. And spent about the same as I was planning on spending with Thomas. I thought about Franklin in one of the spots but nothing separated him from the others to me. He doesn’t have the speed of Worthy as far as being a mismatch on O, and doesn’t have the route running and ability to get open like McConkey to me. I thought teamed up with McClauren it worked nicely. If this draft continues to other rounds I would be spending a whole bunch on DL, OL in the next few picks.

Washington should absolutely come out of this draft as the big winners.  Anything less is a failure.
