  1. As I mentioned earlier, he's slow and doesn't separate. Two traits you just love to see in a WR. But, hey, welcome to Buffalo. Not thrilled at all here. Not saying he can't be good, but when your claim to fame is winning jump balls, it's hard to get excited. I will say that it's not all bad. He has elite body control. He's a big guy that is physical and can get off press. While he is not a good route runner, and he is slow for a WR, he uses his big frame well using his body to shield off defenders and high point the ball. Elite hands and catches the ball well. That said, I had several WRs rated ahead of him, some of whom are still on the board. But hey......it's their guy and I expect him to make some great plays for us here and there. I just don't feel he is a dominant player that teams will fear playing at least right away.

  5. Going into this draft, I had the top 3 WRs going in the top 10 and I had 2 other WRs, BTJ and Legette rated as first rounders. Then, I had a bunch of WRs all rated about the same as 2nd rounders. Coleman was not one of these guys....... I don't even have him rated as a 3rd rounder. If we went through all we did last night and end up with Coleman at 33, this would be super disappointing. There was one WR in this draft that I didn't want to touch at all unless it got into later in Day 3 and that was Coleman. Ugh.... I've given Beane the benefit of the doubt more often than not, but if he comes out of this with Coleman as his top pick, I'm sorry......I will hate it. He'd make a much better TE than WR. He just can't separate as a WR. And, if you can't separate in college, you aren't getting open in the NFL. I could give two craps about 50/50 catches. All that shows me is that you can't separate. I'm not saying he can't turn into a great player someday down the road. Who knows. But he won't help us win a Super Bowl this year or probably over the next couple years either. He's not a player you go into a game fearing or having to game plan for. At best, he is a slower Gabe Davis. At worst, he's Kelvin Benjamin and will be out of the league in a few years. He's not someone I want to hitch my wagon to at all.
  6. Do I like what he did? No. Do I understand and respect what he did? Yes. Here's the thing. Would I have done the same thing? Absolutely not. The board fell so perfectly for the scenario I was looking for. While I don't think the opportunity presented itself to get into the top 10 for Odunze, the other options I was hoping for were there. There were multiple chances to get BTJ. We could have easily traded up, even just a few spots to get him. They chose not to do this and I think that tells you all you need to know about how they had him graded. My ideal option was right there for the taking, even after the first trade down, in Legette. My idea was to take him, as I see him as a future WR1, and then trade up in the 2nd to get another WR I had graded in the 2nd. But sure enough, they traded away from him as well. So, as I said above, that tells you all you need to know about how they had this WR class graded. They only had 3 first round grades on WRs and everyone else was a 2nd rounder in their book. So yeah.....if that's the case and they didn't have first round grades on more than 3 WRs, then I understand and respect what he did. Who knows.....maybe he even has something cooking behind the scenes with a trade for an established WR1. Who knows. I just hope whatever he decides to do here that he turns out to be right on all of it. Because if he's wrong, the backlash he gets will be well deserved. But we might not know the answer to that for a couple of years. But the spotlight is now shining on him brightly tonight. He's committed to a path and he needs to follow through and finish what he started.
  7. In theory, this is fine as a concept. Get an established #1. Stockpile picks to still have some semblance of a draft and trade for a WR. But honestly, I don't see Tee Higgins as a #1 and Debo is a little older and has more miles on him than I would like. Ayuk is interesting, but is going to cost a fortune probably in assets and definitely an extension. Is there another guy out there that they could be looking at? There has to be a plan. I refuse to believe Beane got stupid all of a sudden. There has to be something cooking. Not giving up on Beane yet.
  8. I don't even know what to think here...... They traded down twice, once with your biggest rival. Then, the second team you trade down with takes the guy I really wanted. I honestly don't know what the heck we're doing. The only thing I can think of is that we are going to be trading for an established WR and we are accumulating assets to do so. It's the only thing that makes some sort of sense.
  9. OH MY..... Why not at this point....... Insane
  10. The only thing I can think of is that the Bills made this deal like this: KC called the Bills asking to trade up The Bills said the only way they will trade up is if KC agreed to tell them who they were taking KC told them it was Worthy They agreed to the trade, knowing they weren't taking Worthy and that Worthy was going to be there at 32 and the Chiefs would get him anyway So, they decided to take the 3rd rounder from the Chiefs knowing that KC was going to get him anyway The Bills obviously don't love a guy. Ugh...... If it was anyone but the Chiefs, fine, but man.....sometimes it's about the principle of the thing.
  11. Beane had to know who they were taking.....had to. This is the moment that Beane's job and his seat had the fire started under it. If he turns into the next Tyreek Hill, they continue to beat you, and you traded them the pick to allow them to do it, you are out. I'm sorry.....you are out if that happens.
  12. People about to explode....... OH MY.....

  14. Oh no..... Sal on Twitter..... Interesting.
  15. I am almost expecting it at this point.....
  16. So.....as it stands, it's the Packers, Bucs, and Cards ahead of us. While I don't think any of those teams will take a WR, this is where I am really worried about getting jumped. Everyone and their mother knows we need a WR and this is where I am nervous about a team getting ahead of us.
  17. Dallas traded the pick to the Lions...... Interesting.
  18. Here's the thing. If we really wanted BTJ, we would have gotten him. The way this draft fell, there were plenty of options to trade up to the late teens or early 20s to take him. There were for sure opportunities there to secure him. I think with him getting to #23 and with us not trading up just 6 spots or so to get him, tells us all we need to know about how Beane felt about him. He was obviously not head and shoulders above the others. Who knows. Beane may have other players even ranked ahead of him. I am worried about Dallas here, though. They can easily take a WR.
  19. I think Jax takes a WR here. They could definitely use a CB, but they have their pick of WRs here. And Dallas is definitely another likely WR spot. As close as we are, I am not going to get excited yet because we could easily see 2-3 WRs come off the board before we pick between these teams and a team that could potentially trade ahead of us.
  20. Dolphins were actually practical. Go figure. The Eagles won't take one, so, is there one that Beane absolutely needs and wants to secure? If so, this is the trade to make. Jax and Dallas could both take WR. Then, you have to start worrying about the teams behind you jumping up as well. So, if there is someone Beane absolutely needs, this is the pick to try and get.
  21. 3 out of the next 4 teams could be WR. Big stretch here. Steelers could absolutely take one, even though they could use a CB and C. The Dolphins absolutely could because they are the freaking Dolphins and just want to create a track team even though they have question marks all over the defense. The Eagles won't take one, but Jax will for sure. If we have a guy we want, trading with the Eagles is probably the only option here.
  22. Yup. It's pretty obvious at this point. If there is a WR that Beane absolutely wants and doesn't want to take a chance of him being there, #22 or earlier has to be the target. If we let Jax pick without jumping them, I think it will be pretty obvious Beane has all these guys rated about the same.
  23. Depending on what happens with Jax and Cin, I think we are going to get a real good idea on how Beane has these WRs graded. With the way the draft has fallen, there will be plenty of opportunities to trade up into the early 20s to secure the guy they like best. If they don't, I think it will become pretty obvious that we just have all these WRs rated about the same (outside of the top 3). I think if we get through say pick 20 and no other WRs have gone, if we don't appear on the screen, they obviously don't want to spend even a little bit to get a specific guy. At this point, I am really hoping Legette is their guy and they are just confident he's going to be there for them to take. Guess we'll see over the next 3-4 picks. But the Rams, Steelers, Jags, Cowboys, and even the Dolphins could want to take a WR. A lot of teams to dodge to just sit there if we like a guy.
  24. With the way this is playing out, we will have our pick of premier defensive players at 28! Ugh...... Get McDermott out of the draft room immediately! Don't need him in Beane's ear.
