  1. I heard this one GR yesterday, and figured I'd see something in the paper. I did a search of this forum and can't find anything. What I heard on GR was that despite all the denials at the time, etc. JP said recently that the hit where Vincent broke his leg was not an accident, but they've patched up their differences and everything is cool now.

I heard this as a passing remark and they didn't get into. It was said like it was common knowledge.

Apparently, I missed something. Can somebody fill me in with what JP said?

  2. Try NANO shampoo - do a Google on it. I couldn't be bothered with Rogaine and didn't want to take those pills than mess with your hormones, so I tried this. There is no doubt that whenever I stop using it for awhile, I end up losing alot more hair in the sink and tub, etc.

  3. Brad and Jeremy were a good team at night. I think they are both very funny guys. I didn't like when they had a few political shows. But, that kind of elite hate talk they had is why their side lost the election, anyway..........So, I really think they should put them back together at night............Jeremy and Howard don't seem to mesh all that well............I seem to be the only one here, but I really like Schoop and the Bulldog. When either is going solo, I don't like it so much, but they've jelled into a good team. I like their ten opinions in a row (although I can't stand their HOF deselection committee).

I used to hate GR a few years ago in the Coach heyday. Every single person was a naysayer, and they had all these young guys trying to make a name for themselves. I think they've improved tremendously over the last few years. (I also really like The Herd and Rome, so I have no complaints anymore. I used to complain to one guy I see every once in a while who works there - every time I saw him, I said I couldn't stand them.)

  4. Anthony Yerkovich is from Buffalo and was one of the lead writers on Hill Street Blues, which is why it had so many Buffalo names thrown in. He went on to create Miami Vice. Milch is also from Buffalo.

I am so sad to see NYPD leaving. I do believe that it was the greatest drama of all time because of it's longevity and sustained excellence. It started to jump the shark at some point (I think it was near the end of Smits, because I remember thinking Shroeder shocked me how good he was and how much energy he pumped into it), but then it jumped back and has been excellent ever since. I always tape it and it's the only show where after almost every one, I say "That is so good."

I think I liked St. Elsewhere just a little better, but it was short lived compared to NYPD. Hill Street and LA Law were the only others that are in the same ballpark, in my opinion.

I really wish they kept NYPD going for as long as Dennis Franz remained. It can survive any cast change except for him.

  5. That being said, this is not the biggest factor that has hampered Buffalo's growth.  If this were the case, other areas with higher percentages of the population with union membership would be in worse shape than Buffalo.

Maybe it's wrong, but I read a while back that Erie Co. is the most unionized county in the country.

  6. are you joking about the 13 week vacation?

No - no joke, and somebody could correct if I'm wrong here, but every 5 years, they got a 13 week paid vacation. Not sure if that was in addition to their regular vacation that year, but it was definitely in addition to whatever weeks they got their other years................. I have no idea why that plant closed?

  7. I think somebody should file a grievance here. That seems to solve everything. Well, at least the union member gets what they want, which I haven't seen any other pro-union point here. I got mine. What about the greater good? What do unions do for it? I'm willing to listen. As somebody said, unions were necessary in their time. As far as I can tell tell, that ended 50-100 years ago.

I'm sure the Bethlehem union members loved their union because they got their unbelievable 13 week vacation every year. But, the party was over.

  8. The giving him the biz game was not Jimbo's inaugural. It was later that year at the Meadowlands (or possibly the next year, but definitely down there). What you may be thinking of is in that first game, it was either Klecko or Lyons jumped offsides and then was unimpeded to Kelly and leveled him.
