  1. Am I the only one here who hates Bart Scott.......He first came to my attention with the Ravens when Ray Rice and Mendenhall from the Steelers were having fun texting each other and Men. cracked some joke. Rice told the Ravens D and Scott said he's going to be injured. Even though Mendenhall said he was just joking, Scott's answer was "too late."......Of course, Mendenhall gets injured enough to miss at least several weeks.

Now, this past week, Scott is talking about ending Welker's career.

I'm not really a fan of thugs like him. I'm not a fan of WWE, either, so I guess that's why I'm not too impressed with this interview.

  2. This is the dumbest thread ever. Winning the Super Bowl requires an excellent TEAM. Arguing about which positions are most important is an exercise in futility. Great teams require great players, but I guess that is too simple of a concept.

I agree that this is the dumbest thread ever, but disagree a little on the reasoning.......I don't think all positions are equal in importance. QB is by far the most important position on the field. Vince Lombardi loved the team concept of football and hated how darned important that QB position was.

So, I guess my question to the OP is "Can we draft an entire defense with the 3rd pick?" If so, then I'm on board. (Actually, I officially would be on board with picking a D player, if there are no franchise QBs in this draft, and there just might not be).

  3. Yes it does, which makes it particularly difficult to make lists of items like player's stats.

The only way I've found to do it is through using codes.

    YEAR	PLAYER	STAT
    2006	PETE	20 TDS
    2008	JOE	25 TDS
    2009	SAM	32 TDS
    2010	HANK	12 TDS

Hank sucks! Let's trade him for a 2nd round pick!

  4. 1. pressure. rattle him; sack him a few times; make him hear footsteps

    2. coverage. take away his receivers long enough that the footsteps and clock in his head get loud

    3. turnovers. take it away and don't give it up

Note that only 1/2 out of 3 involve offense and none require Marvelboy QB (provided the QB we have doesn't throw to the wrong color)

2 1/2 do require significant upgrades on D

The thing isn't that what every team has to do every single week?

  5. Then, I suppose it's likely a bastardization devolving from "out of the office" taken to the next level by those who think out of the box about having a deliverable for a SWOT analysis and need team synergy for a vertical market. Think of it as business hip hop.

    :D

  6. Well, I'm not Tom, nor would I attempt to answer for him.

However I offer you this - it's a business slang term such as BUS (business as usual) that connotes the business expenses of business associates that are "on the road" that are not pre-paid by the company, but will be reimbursed by their company. For example, taxi cabs, lunch, dinner with others, hotel fees. If the associate pays for these "out of (their own) pocket", they'll put in an expense report and be reimbursed for them by their company. Hence, they're living "out of pocket", i.e., they're using their own cash/credit for business purposes. This is quite common for people in sales.

Actually, you hear it all the time now when people are going to be unreachable. That's probably what she is asking. It makes no sense how out of pocket would mean unreachable!

  7. The iPhone correctly makes two spaces into a single space and period. Just like any publication since Gutenburg.

Two spaces is a rule taught by bad teachers. The same bad teacher who taught you that also said never start a sentence with and. And they were wrong on that too.

This Gutenberg dude must have came along after my college term papers...

  8. Thanks for the tip.... How do I add all those search terms to the listing

Just hit revise your item. And, your title line is this:

    New England Patriots Art

I forget how many characters you get, but a lot more than that......That'll actually be the first thing you can edit. Just type Richard Seymour in the box. As you type, it'll actually tell you how many characters you have left.

Painting might be a word to put in there? I don't know much about either art or memorabilia, but there's probably some words that catch a lot of searches.

  9. PS I was just thinking about how my iphone texting works. If you hit two spaces, it automatically puts in the period. So, I think the 2 spaces is correct and current.

That joke was actually played on me, and I totally fell for it because I was married by a friend of mine. He put on a convincing face and told me he completely forgot to file the papers and that my marriage never happened.

...if only that had been true 0:)

There's a Taylor and Moore website out there for those who used to be fans of that show on 103.3, like I was...........I was listening to some of their bits and that was one of the ones - where friends would request them to punk their buddies. That one was really funny.

  10.

I've sold a lot of stuff on ebay, and one thing I try never to do is not use all the characters possible. You never know what word somebody might be search for. Here's what you have:

    New England Patriots Art

You can put in Richard Seymour. Maybe whoever number 75 is? Maybe even put Buffalo Bills in case anyone masochistic Bills fans might want it........Maybe there is even room for Flying Elvis

  11. This is getting ridiculous........First, Pluto is no longer a planet. Then, this movie comes out called Dilmma - and I always knew it to be spelled dilemna. In fact, I hear a lot of people pronounce the n........Then, I'm no longer a Gemini....Now, I was wrong all along with putting two spaces after the period. WTF!!

  12. I thought about it... Getting that "Best of XM:" thingy... I liked when Sirius had NHL... Yet, I am not really around to listen... I like glancing down and getting a text update... Especially out on the wall at work... It is funny, I really got sharp with my math... When a team is on a PP and what not... It is amazing how much you can tell what is going on from just raw stats like shots, hits, takeaways, giveaways, etc.. etc...

What I liked about sat radio was the live score read out... I could glance and get the "ticker"... If I listen, I will get too engrossed into the game and tune-out... Kinda like when I was young and would have the transistor under the pillow catching the late west-coast games!

    You work on a wall?

I really do like that ticket score read out, too.....I don't need it so much for the Yankees, but I'd imagine if you listened to Rick J do the Sabres it would be invaluable. He never ever resets the score, time, etc. for the radio listeners.

So, if you aren't around to listen, what's a self-acknowledged tightwad like you doing paying for Sirius??

  13. SDS I've always wondered, who is the girl in your avatar? It so looks like Hayden Panettiere. It prolly isn't, so who is it? very attractive girl. And obviously very passionate about her Stanley Cup.

Now that we got that answered, I've been wondering who the girl is in your avatar?!?

  14.

Cripes... I pulled the text of the game(s) off the mobile web of my 5 year old Verizon phone... It is all included in the price of my cell service! Nothing but text and summary... Maybe what the last play was... I gotta keep refreshing too. My wife thinks I am crazy!

I have had Sirius radio (no NHL) for the last 7 years... Yet, I got basic cable and only ONE 20 year old 20" GE TV in the family castle. :P

Why don't you switch to XM so you can get the NHL, if you're already paying that company?

This is actually one thing I think I'm dropping. I got XM in order to listen to the Yankees when GR dropped them. But, now WECK carries them (every game, too - unlike GR) and rarely use my XM for anything. I'm so into podcasts, I have no time for XM.

  15. Yes, this from the guy who claims he isn't a "company man". As soon as ESPN started pushing the NBA, Cowherd started bashing the NHL for hours on end. He claims to argue with his bosses all the time. About what I wonder? Whether Fire Island is just as good as South Beach? :D

If ESPN started pushing lacrosse, how much do you want to bet that good old Colin, from a fishing village in Washington State, of all places, would start talking about how much he has always admired it? I wonder if he would analyze and admire the Life Choices of lacrosse players. :D

Yeah, and if that happened, he's such a frontrunner that you know he'd claim to be lifelong Syracuse or Johns Hopkins fan!

  16. Exactly... I am the saem way... :wallbash: :wallbash:

I just can't resolve the "throw away" culture. By far I do NOT hoard... But it is amazing when driving down the street on gabage day how much people consume in their life!

Funny that you bring up your spendthriftness. I was using my iphone pocket tunes last night to listen to the Sabres game and thinking about how much I love that pocket tunes app. I get just about any station or network in the country (and somehow it records, too I just figured out - but I have to figure out how to use it).

So, I'm thinking last night Man, that is great and it only cost $7.95. Then, I thought about the thread last year where somebody asked how they can listen to WECK. I said I just downloaded this thing and it seems to work really good. You then replied to that that cost too much and you found something cheaper.........I said yeah those 8 bucks really set me back (it's a one time payment, not a monthly fee).

You guys make me feel like I live large!

  17. The argument against that study - that I have been seeing this week - is that it's just a conspiracy between the government and the drug companies making billions off vaccines () to discredit the vaccine-autism crowd.

Are these from the same people you hear talk about that "they" (whoever they are) have the cure for cancer, but they make too much money off it to let it out of the bag.

My secretary said this once and I said OK, do you have any idea how much money whoever came up with the cure for cancer would make? And, they would sit on it, just so that doctors can make their money? (Not that there will ever be a cure of cancer. It's an umbrella word for many many types of diseases, so I can see a cure for this type of cancer and that, but not for cancer period).

  18. Yes, sort of. I stopped listening to him for another reason* soon after. But, one spring day, he did sort of touch on it saying that "maybe Ralph Wilson didn't deserve the criticism he got from 'the media'". As though he had nothing to do with it.

*I'm no big soccer fan, but how exactly does the USA world cup team advancing = a vindication of millions of US soccer fans'(all named Zack, btw) "life choices"? WTF does that even mean? Thank God we had Cowherd there then, to psychoanalyze millions of people's entire lives, since they are all the exact same  ...based on a f'ing soccer game.

Well then I do have to give him credit, sort of. At least he mentioned it. Too bad he didn't replay the clips of him mocking him.

The worst part about that soccer thing to me is then ESPN at some point seemed to tell him to get on board with soccer because the World Cup would be coming in a few years. So, then all of a sudden he was Mr. Soccer. One of the few days I listened to him for any amount of time in the last year was after the World Cup final game. I wanted to see if he was even talking about it.........Of course, he never even mentioned it in the open and seemed like it wasn't going to come up the whole show. His mission was over - no need to promote soccer now that the WC was over.

Can you imagine him not talking about the Super Bowl the next day?

  19. Ralph said he didn't understand it because Jones and Kraft gave the other owners 45 minutes to read the deal. The deal was railroaded through. When Ralph called it the media labeled him an old coot.

    PTR

Especially Colin Cowherd! He was merciless.........I don't listen to that asshat anymore, now that I've found the joy of podcasts........Did he ever admit Ralph was right?
