You have over 5000 posts on a Bills board and think that that was a 42 yard field goal?

over-rated and under-rated bands: one man's insober list

Thank you. I think I'll take just about every music critic ever's opinion over somebody who heard that he's good live and who doesn't love Born in the USA............As somebody who has seen Bruce 25 times, I can say I don't love that song, at all. His lives shows are religious experiences. -
Can't believe I'm sticking up for Parcells, but didn't he take a team that won one game in Miami and have them win the division the next year? He really was great at taking teams that sucked and have them in contention in very short order. I hate when people saying he can't win the big one. As Rick Reilly said, he won two Grey Cups..........To get to the Super Bowl, you have to win a hell of a lot of big games. The biggest regular season game in Bills history was 12/23/90 vs. Dolphins. He won that with his backup QB. I think AFC Championships are big games, too! If Norwood's kick goes a few feet to the left, suddenly Marv is a coach who can win the big one, right?

Did he give you the news?

I'm just happy he didn't die. That's what I was afraid of when I clicked in..........I think of him and Jack Ramsey as these ageless wonders. Both late 80s, I believe...........And, Dr. Jack is now battling bone cancer. He had already decided this was his last year of calling games. But, he had to quit early. But, true to form he's driving himself to and from treatment, and he plans on being to his usual Jersey Shore place in June.

Maury Povich's father was named Shirley Povich and he is was a legendary sportswriter. I knew somebody named Carol who married a guy with a last name Carroll - so she was Carol Carroll.

I've disagreed with Marv's politics when he's talked about them, but he's my all time favorite sportsman (coach or athlete)................And, it was Joe Devlin, not Kent Hull. Anybody who doesn't think Marv had a lot of influence in who Polian picked as players doesn't realize that Marv was Polian's mentor, not the other way around..............And, I've recently seen Polian talk about them building a consensus on players. Marv as a GM was only a figurehead. I think if he was younger, and was a real GM, he would have been a great one. He had an eye for talent and was great at running an organization. By the way, this really wasn't an espn survey or anything it was Rick Reilly's column. I read it earlier today. He left Bill Parcells off, which I don't really agree with, but I like anyway.............I love the picture of Halas and Lombardi before a game: http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/page/greatestcoachreilly/my-top-20-nfl-coaches Halas-Lombardi pic:

Yeah, how about a SPOILER ALERT!

Has anybody ever treated a patella tracking problem successfully?
bbb replied to bbb's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I know, right! It definitely took my heart out of it! Thanks - I knew of physiatrists through my job, and have wondered if they can help. Now I have to look them up. This is encouraging, because it wasn't even mentioned back when I originally went to PT. -

Thanks to all three of you for your answers. They all helped. I'm going to look for a brace that is particularly for this, and wear that more. I just have some old generic ones in the drawer that I wore when playing hoops (my knee used to dislocate, which I'm sure is totally tied into this). Just doing some stretching of the hamstrings, etc. has helped the last few days. John - you're saying the PT actually did help your son, then?............When this first cropped up, I went to Dr. Marzo (the Bills ortho that you see on the field during injuries). Great guy. Told me stay away from people like him (meaning don't even think about surgery). PT will fix this thing...........But, then I go to PT and the guy was like man, these suck - you can't fix these! -
Same here.

Loved Fargo!

Thank you! I do not get the Raging Bull love. I wanted to see it when it came out but didn't and I said it when we were back at school. To which one of the guys (who I would give no respect to their tastes) said "Why would you want to see that? It's just a bunch of dagos beating each other up."................I figured that was just another stupid thing said by this stupid person..............And, then a number of years later I finally got to see it on though the miracle of VHS. I was like holy cow - he was right I was so unhappy with the movie that I had no desire to see Goodfellas when that came out probably 4 years after I saw RB. Why would I want to see another Deniro, Pecci, Scorcese film................I finally saw that many years later, and I thought it was one of the greatest films I had ever seen. I said to another friend I think I have to go back and watch Raging Bull. I must not have "got it." He's a movie junkie and he said "No, that is so overrated. It was done in black and white, so right there it got a ton of points from the critics for that gimmick, etc."
-
I had forgotten about that. The Bulls might have had a chance if they weren't so decimated and Rose gets $24M for nothing while the other guys tried to play no matter what.
-
Derrick Rose should be hanging his head in shame.
-
Really good news. More like Adrian Peterson than Derrick Rose.
-
I've never seen it, and it looks stupid and like something I wouldn't want to see. But, I listen to Tony Kornheiser all the time, and agree with what he says most of the time about movies, and he totally loves that movie.
-
I see what happened. Wayne Cubed said he doesn't like Ben Stiller in any movie and then Mark Vader said "Not even Tropic Thunder?" and then you said you hate Tropic Thunder, so I figured you were the guy who said it in the first place...........That's why I then asked what about "There's Something about Mary?"
-
No, can you follow your own thinking here? You said you don't like Ben Stiller in any movie.
-
What about There's Something about Mary? Nice. And, then I noticed that they have all the full episodes, so I can just watch the whole series it looks like on youtube.

NFL looks like it's going to move draft to May

I agree with you, except that they don't sell 5-10K tickets to a preseason game. All season ticket holders are forced to buy the games at regular season prices. -
OMG - I watched the first Lord of the Rings. I didn't know all that much about it, except that it got so many awards, etc. I figured it had to be great. "When will this be over?" was all I kept thinking.

That is great! My friend and I were driving up to Toronto 6 months ago and jokingly said This is our last chance to see The Who! Just like we did 30+ years ago!! I guess this is going to go the way of the "guilty pleasure songs" threads. They start out with people getting the theme of I know Wake Me Up Before I Go Go sucks, but I secretly like it.............Then, by the end people are naming Kashmir as a guilty pleasure.

I was told the same thing about Anchorman - I have to watch it again. I don't have the time to watch movies I LIKE more than once. Why would I keep watching movies I don't like the first time? Who is saying that the Swedish trilogy is not good?
