  1. Yes you are absolutely right. Context matters a great deal. This is why most end of game stats are pretty much useless. They very often times paint a different picture than what actually happened. And they are used by people on forums like this one, to try to justify a position and make something appear true even though it is not. This game of football is a game of possessions. The goal is to score when you have the ball. The goal is to stop the other team from scoring and take the ball away from them. Other than individual drive stats, the rest of the stats are mostly meaningless with a few exceptions. Certain stats would paint a more accurate picture of how good an offense is and how good a defense really is. Better stats would be things like these: Offensive stats: % of drives ending in turnovers % of drives starting 70 yards or longer that result in touchdowns % of drives starting 70 yards or longer that result in field goals % of drives starting less than 70 yards resulting in touchdowns etc....... Defensive stats: % of drives ending in punts when opponents drive started from 70 yards or longer % of drives ending in field goals for other team when drive started from 70 yards or longer % of drives ending in touchdowns for other team when drive started from 70 yards or longer % of drives ending in opponent's turnovers % of drives ending in punts when opponents drive starter from inside 70 yards etc...... Those stats would paint a much more accurate view of which team is better and whether it comes from offense or defense. And having similar stats for special teams would also help clarify that. Ultimately the score is what really matters. But drive stats like those would be the next best thing. I bet the gambling insiders in Las Vegas keep track of such stats.
  2. Uh oh! He is picking the Bills to win vs. the Giant and vs. Tennessee...... Bad juju
  3. After he gave the playbook to New England? If we bring him in, we shoot him.
  4. I thought by now there would be some idiot on here claiming that the entire game in Miami was "garbage time" just like the fourth quarter comeback against New England. Through his first three games Tyrod has proven himself to be a legit above average quarterback. And you could even argue that through these 3 games he is bordering on "elite" status. If he keeps playing this well, and the Bills can avoid injuries, then the Bills will be a contender at the end of the year. No doubt about it. That beat down they laid down against the Dolphins was picture perfect one sided team domination. So far, Tyrod Taylor has played like a legit above average "dual threat" NFL quarterback. Can you imagine how high his ceiling could be if he keeps improving even a little bit from here. We could be witnessing the very beginning of a really nice era of Buffalo Bills football. Hell yeah.
  5. True. The fact of the matter is that if the Patriots keep executing that strategy that well for the rest of the season, then they are going to go to and probably win another Superbowl. Even if their defense isn't as good as they used to be. I am amazed that Brady was able to execute that well on the road. At home, I get it. But on the road? Brady might really be the greatest of all time if he keeps this up. And I hate that he is in the AFC East.
  6. Ask Brady how well that worked for him in the Bills game. Yep. That defensive game plan flat out sucked. Mostly Rex's fault not effectively accounting for the quick passes we knew Brady was going to use.
  7. Give it a few weeks. It will get to number 1.
  8. That's friggin laughable dude..... You've been trolling hard for the last dozen pages or so. Pretending not to be just another EJ troll. Your true colors shine right through. You're not fooling anybody. Why not just say "Let's leave EJ out of this" Instead you throw in the "for now" part, because to you it really is all about EJ and nothing else. You just have to be seen as being right about EJ. Nothing else matters to you. Troll.
  9. I think the Bills stomp the Jets this year. We will run the football on them and our receivers will get plenty of yards after catch. Not very worried. Just avoid Bevis in the secondary. Yeah. Yeah.
  10. Sure it does. The Colts are an AFC team and the Bills beat them. That is all that matters. And the Bills showed every other team in the NFL how to beat the Colts. So other teams will beat them the same way - pressure Luck into bad (early) throws and bad decisions. The one thing I learned from that game is that the coaching staff of the Colts sucks.
  11. I thought he sucked in preseason. I still think he sucks. For a guy who doesn't seem to make any big plays, he sure makes his fair share of negative plays.
  12. Yeah man... Every time we get a flyby like that, it makes me proud and glad to be an American. Way friggin cool.....Those are America's finest up there in those things....doing the dirty work for us so we can sit around and watch football on Sundays. They are the best!
  13. I am sure they buzzed the stadium as a treat for the fans who were tailgating. They were probably on a training run or some other mission that happened to take them in the vicinity and decided to give the fans a treat. When the plane buzzed by they rocked the plan back and forth as if they were waving to us. No it wasn't weird. They don't do flybys because Obama is cheap. This one was just a happy coincidence by a flight crew who is proud to be stationed at Niagara Falls I would imagine.
  14. Yeah, I don't see us breaking that record either. I will give it my all though, just like I do at every game. We'll probably get to about 120-130 decibels at best. We shall see.
  15. They are selling beer in the can now. You get an open can instead of those blue cups. Maybe you can still get them at some lines, but where I get beer from, they just give you a can.
  16. How many people whined that this game sucked? And boring? I think Chiefs fans and Broncos fans disagree.
  17. Denver stepping on gas.
  18. Song playing in Manning's head - "Aint it a shame......to be shot down in flames....." Game is becoming reminiscent of Ej vs. Houston last year.
  19. I am worried about both of these teams. Looks like 2 pretty dang good football teams.
  20. Denver blitzed wrong gap. went for 6.
  21. Are you kidding me. This game is awesome. It's like a slug fest heavyweight boxing match. I hope they kick the crap out of each other. We'll be playing one of these teams in the playoffs.
  22. Should have kicked after timeout. Stupid decision. Peyton looks scared out there.
  23. Chief's D in full on beast mode.
  24. I agree. How can you not hand Manning the keys to the car.
