Ya gotta wonder how out of shape OBJ was if the Cowboys and Bills both went and got other players. Sheeesh
Has nothing to do with kind of shape he's in, he blew up his knee in February. It took Tre a full calendar year to come back, OBJ was not going to be ready to play this year.

People rating Benford over Elam in this thread. 😂

Sorry, I'm lazy, but is there a site that tracks drops game by game?
I have a theory that the rise in drops coincided with Josh having to re-tool his throwing motion to minimize pain after he got hurt. Changes in velocity disrupt timing.
Of course, I could just be talking out of my ass.
Nah I think this is definitely the issue. Josh does not make a lot of off angle throws lately. He clearly doesn't trust his arm like he normally does. Not surprising considering his injury.

Which is crazy given how much attention was given to the Green Bay drop issues...
Thankfully Josh doesn't have Rodgers personality so we don't hear him in the media throwing his team under the bus every week on every podcast that will have him.

How does this help the team again? McKenzie is very full of himself but there isn't anything to really back that up... he did have a hell of a game last year though.

Then go tell him he should actually block well or catch the ball if you wanna see him on the field more.
He was one of the best blocking receivers coming out of college. Also I can recall at least 3 throws to him (1 yesterday) where he draws a PI. Try again.

How does he feel about being the defensive co-ordinator in Buffalo after Fraizer finds a new gig in the offseason?

So what is he doing in the snaps he gets, and with the targets he gets, which you can show to us as evidence he should be getting more?
It's all based on chemistry and trust, if Josh isn't given the opportunity to build those things with him, it will continue to be a stalemate. This isn't baseball, too many fans on this board with percentages and decimal points.

And yet McKenzie is right behind Diggs for catch % with 69.1%, how can this be when he doesn't catch the ball?
Hodgins (when with the Bills) has a lower catch % with 66.7%, how can this be when he catches the ball "unlike McKenzie"?
(Hodgins has a better catch % with the Giants, so good for him!)
You know Shakir gets ~16 snaps per game on average, right? More vs Detroit, 12 yesterday. He's been targeted 17 times and has 8 receptions.
I would have liked to see the Bills keep Hodgins. I think it was bad luck as far as injuries at other positions that led to him being waived.
I know he isn't getting enough snaps, yes.

Still can't figure out what went into evaluating the receivers in the offseason. Hodgins, Shakir, Diggs and Davis would've made a hell of a group.

he's washed and should have called it after winning the last sbowl Makes watching the Bucs basically unwatchable each week Every throw downfield is short of the receiver and he's putting the ball up for grabs more each week Hard to believe they left him in down by 4 tds in the 4th I's play Trask and see if he has anything to offer
Considering Trask was Heisman hopeful his final year and was easily the best player on the field for the Gators outside of Kyle Pitts, I sure hope the Bucs transition to him in the offseason to see what he has. In the drought days I would've been pounding the table for the Bills to draft him.

After beating the Jets today the Bills are 10-3 and in the lead in the AFCE and sitting as the #1 seed in the AFC. If you had taken a poll here at the start of the season and asked if we would take those stats heading into week 15 of the season, I think it would be 80/20 in favor of it.
Recognizing the Bills are sitting in a very good position right now, why does it feel like this has been a really rough season?
Maybe it's the constant parade of injuries? The bad loses to the Phins, Jets, and Vikings? Maybe the fact that we haven't seen the Bills' offense find that gear that they ended the season in last season? Or maybe it's because the Bills have left themselves no room for error going forward if they want to win the division and the #1 seed?
I'm not complaining about where the BIlls are sitting at right now, I just imagined 10-3 would feel a whole lot better than it does.
It's been a brutal six game stretch, started by 2 straight losses, one of which was well in hand and just an awful loss, much like the Chiefs playoff game. It killed Josh's confidence and I feel like he's lost trust in his team mates and they haven't done much to earn it back. A stretch of games plagued with poor defense, drops and crucial penalties. The play calling on offense has been questionable at times, the 3rd down defense has been back braking.
What we are witnessing is team that is all-time great, struggling. Still great enough to be 10-3 but clearly not up to their standards set in 2020 and 2021. Beane and McDermott screwed the pooch this offseason. The best QB in the league should be given the best offensive line in the league, or there should an honest attempt to provide that. The Bills brass has ignored it outside of signing Saffold this past offseason and Morse the year before. We are weak at the line of scrimmage on the offensive side of the ball. Teams that can not assert themselves in the trenches typically are not 10-3.
-
Dane was about what he always is, but McKenzie was brutal today. Between him and the O-Line we couldn't buy a 3rd down conversion.
-
Pass.
Defense looks mostly the same with or without him. Now when a good player goes down, like Milano or Poyer, someone like that, there is a considerable drop off in the entire unit's performance.
But I figured with half his tackles for the night coming on one drive the threads would be abundant with his supporters flexing like him over a couple 2nd quarter tackles, which would simply be routine for a good LB.
Let's see how many fire Beane threads there are when we don't overpay for Tremaine.

And to think a bunch of people here were trying to say Elam wasn't any good at the beginning of the season LOL
As soon as he went out and left the three stooges (Benford, Jackson, Johnson) out there on their own things took a turn for the worst...
If we can get Elam and White on the field at the same time for a game, it will be our best defensive performance since the Titans game.
-
Big money QB with 3 turnovers to lose a game you were leading by 10...
Coaching not taking the points to put us up 2 TDs...
-
Edmunds possessed the ball as he went to the ground. More damning was the fact that the tight end had his arm WRAPPED AROUND EDMUNDS. Unless the man has 3 arms, not sure how you can possess the ball and make a tackle...
-
Does he have an eligibility left? The Gators could really use him back. 😆
Glad to see him play to his potential in the NFL. He was a stud in college and will be for us as well.

I feel the need to put this disclaimer in here. The media guys that survive on ad revenue are going to say stupid ***** about Allen to get all of you to click. Nick Wright literally wouldn't exist if not for Bills fans not realizing he's a professional troll.

What if you're a current Bills player and you have really high Super Bowl hopes....then you get traded to Carolina and have to be teammates with Baker Mayfield.
It's got to be a nightmare to think about if you're potentially a guy that could get moved for McCaffrey.
I still don't buy the CMC interest. We aren't a running team. We aren't going to be a running team. And it's not like the line is going to suddenly run block better for CMC.

When you don't hear a corner's name (outside of an interception) that's usually a good sign.

Even after Shakir has a notable impact on the game in the final minutes, two key conversions and a great block to spring Singletary on the last drive, we're having this conversation?
Just keep rolling with what we got. Shakir and Hodgins. Get Morris more involved. No need for knee jerk reactions.

Someone will die and then they will put a roof on the stadium covered in solar panels and pitch it as the NFL going carbon neutral.

To me, out of shape conjours images of Kelvin Benjamin. An injury is different. That's all.
