Murphy is my favorite. They desperately needed upgrade the pass rush and it looks like they've done that with a blue collar, tough SOB. He's got great length and looks like he has a few OK pass rushing moves. The article below shows some of the moves he uses. He's not a refined pass rusher yet, but is still in his prime and it's unreasonable to think he could get better.

All-22 analysis: Buffalo Bills free agent defensive end/linebacker Trent Murphy

Star has the potential to have the biggest impact, just because I think his position has the best chance to make people around him better. Even if he's holding double teams or pushing the pocket, he can make the rest of the line better against the run and pass and keep LB's clean to make plays.

I pretty much love what they're doing this offseason. They're finding guys that fit major needs at reasonable prices. I'm 100% on board with spending money on the D-line. Imagine if these guys pan out as well as Hyde and Poyer.

Are you saying that you think he can't get any better and has reached his full potential? I'm guessing that you meant that it's not unreasonable to think that he can get better. Only asking because it seems a little contradictory otherwise.

Just out of curiosity what exactly will posting plays and ideas on here actually accomplish?

Not that I'm adding to the OP's point, but it provokes thought and discussion, which is why the majority of people who come to the site are here. That is what it accomplishes. I don't post very often but I am an avid reader of the site and enjoy the many different views offered from everyone. Just my opinion and .02

  3. I'm in New Smyrna Beach, going to hunker down and ride this thing out. Thoughts and prayers for anyone who is in or has family in the state of Florida. This storm is nothing to take lightly, it is going to pack a punch for sure. Good luck and stay safe to all. Lots of traffic hold-ups on the interstates heading north so please exercise caution and common sense.

  4. I see nothing wrong with what the OP posted. Dude was just trying to keep people informed. He posted a few minutes later that he was back out jogging, albeit gingerly, but posted none the less. What was the problem, seems as though it was pretty accurate. Initially stated that it was his foot/ankle and after all was said and done, that was the case.

  5. ...why do NFL guys smoke it?

Are they that stressed out? Don't they want to be more upbeat and on edge as a player?

I haven't smoked it (more of a beer guy), but the effects of pot (from what others have said) is contrary to what NFL players should be looking for in terms of their approach to the game (relaxed vs detail oriented). Am I wrong?

    Depends on the strain...

"Indica strains are known for being physically sedating, perfect for relaxing.

Sativas typically provide more invigorating, uplifting cerebral effects that pair well with physical activity"

Hope I'm allowed to post this. If not my apologies.

  6. anyone miss Karlos Williams? Exactly.. here's hoping we say the same thing about Gilesee.

The run game is starting to resemble the run game of the Broncos a few years back, in the aspect that no matter who they put back there, they were putting up some pretty good numbers for the season. We'll see if that trend continues this year and I hope it does. If that's the case it eliminates the depth issue for the RB position. All jmo of course.

  7. I'm getting old. I've seen lots of coaches and GMs come and go. I'm always a little hopeful when there's a change but that hope is tempered by years of disappointment.

So far I like "this new way of doing things." But that's a preliminary and cautious "like." Let's see some real games before we judge.

No need to wait for the games to judge what they have done up to this point, with the exception of players performances.

I agree that the direction appears to be headed in a different one than years passed and finally feels like there is some structure behind it. The last 15 years have appeared to be so aimlessly directed, IMO. Now it seems as though everyone is on the same page from top to bottom and it doesn't feel like lip service when I hear it this time around.

To have that optimism, for me personally, is coming from the moves that the Buffalo Bills have made as an organization during the offseason. To this point, McD and Beans have done an excellent job at bringing in new members, several which were lateral, to assemble a respected staff.

I think to judge them to this point is fair, just not to judge them about aspects that can't be determined until the players play the game. So far though, I am very pleased with the results and would like to think that they will continue when the season begins. This all just my opinion of course.

  8. 3 weeks ago the Bills were considered to be dysfunctional pretty much across the board. Now they're earning praise for the off-season. Given the fact that it's a top to bottom new staff, I think that the praise and recognition they're getting is saying something. I know that the only results that matter is the W-L record. It feels like they're heading in the right direction and for me it gives somethingto be optimistic about.

  9. Not true. The Bills are tied with three teams for 6th in that regard. Still good in the 6th-9th range, but not 3rd.

    https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/offensive-touchdowns-per-game

The Bills rank 10th overall offensively in DVOA by Football Outsiders. That's 1st in Rushing Offense and 19th in Passing Offense.

    http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamoff

Not really tough to see the problem with the offense when you look at the whole picture.

Actually, the OP never said that they were 3rd. Just stated that 2 other teams have more offensive TD's than the Bills. At the end of the game, all that matters is who scored more points. The offense is putting points on the board and doing their job. Unfortunately the defense is not doing theirs and allowing the other team to score more.

  10. I'm bringing up solid facts

It's funny bc you fans are so delusional you can't even bring up good counter arguements

All you do is tell me to stop posting, which shows what I'm saying is 100% correct

I wonder if the slide in defense has anything to do with Rex giving up play calling duties to DT. Maybe it's not so much Rex.

  11. While I commend Shady for saying that, I thought it just came out that NFL players no longer post their own social media posts. Unless he physically said it (at which point I retract this post), is this fluff from the NFL in an attempt to "keep the peace"? Shady is probably the highest profile Bills player right now IMO. If it's the intentions of the NFL to urge "respect", who better to do it than the highest profile player.
