I think no news is good news on the "public statements" front, myself. Silence should be taken as consent, or at least as lack of perceived need to "spin" something.

On the contrary though, you know what they say, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. If they are trying to build a winning culture, wouldn't they be using more positive reinforcements. Teammates speak highly in public about a QB and the fans get into it, in turn feeding the Support to the team. Players believe more in themselves, and therefore play with more confidence.

As you can see I wasn't the only one. Your new around here you'll understand soon. By the way I'm still waiting to hear one.

All you did was point out how many other posters have strayed from the OP's original question, in turn, further proving my point.

And you're halfway right, I haven't been posting for very long. But that does not mean that I haven't been reading for quite some time. So to assume that I don't "understand", as you say, is actually a pretty shallow assumption to make.

As far as you "still waiting to hear one", again, the OP was asking fellow board members for their knowledge of teammates public support regarding EJ Manuel. Yet you continue to ask him for his teammates public displeasure about EJ Manuel. This is the exact opposite of what the original post was about.

To answer the OP's question, I did a quick search and was unable to find any public statements from any of his teammates regarding their support. I am sure if I dug deeper, I would have found something. However, the fact that one would have to dig so deep to find public statements about his teammates support, suggests that they do not have a lot of faith in him. The lack of statements speaks volumes, IMO.

  3. First off I never said he wasn't allowed his opinion. Show me were I said anything like that. I'll save you some time, you can't. He wanted people to get quotes about support for EJ. I, in return, would like to hear all the quotes from teammates that don't support EJ. Never did I try to squash his opinion I even gave him an opportunity to show teammates felt the same.

It seems as tho the OP was asking a question and reaching out to fellow TBD'ers for info or quotes from other team members showing their support for the teams chosen QB. The OP didn't ask about which teammates didn't publicly Support EJ, But rather the ones who did. Why try to "call the OP out" about something that he wasn't looking for to begin with?

    2 Years ???

It goes back way farther than that . You just have a short memory that's right i got you now . They say all the great ones have short memories good for you !!

I just love a English major on a sports blog !!!!

Some people do not have the capacity to understand that others are here to talk about sports, or whatever the topic may happen to be. People don't need to be spell checked or trolled by the grammar police. I suppose it was too hard to translate with the all of the improper verbiage tho. some are never happy unless they are pointing out others miscues....

Optimistic, but realistic. This could be a breakout season, or it could be one of those where people fall down on routes, fumble in overtime, drop passes in the end zone, throw 101 yard picks from the opponent's 1 yard line, blow 11 point leads in the last two minutes on MNF.

Back to EJ. Tell the media to kiss your ass, EJ and have a great season.

So what you're saying is he might do OK, but maybe not... But regardless of, EJ needs to tell'em to get bent. I'm in.

We used a third on TJ Graham and got um nothing for him. That a boy Dougie and Buddy.

I guess if this was a let's compare T.J.to Mallet thread, then your attempt to compare the front office dealings of the Bills regarding T.J. would hold some merritt. Seeing as though this is a thread about Mallet and not T.J., and how the Pats* drafted in the 3rd and only got a 7th for him, seems to hold little weight for the argument at hand. But hey, I guess it's harder for some to stay on point about the actual topic. Can't we all just enjoy the collective demise of the Pats* together? Why try and throw our beloved Bills into that mix? It's really hard to enjoy the kool-aid, that is that Pats* failures (what little there is), when your own teams failures are compared. Everyone here knows Where the Bills stand. This is a "Pats* suck cuz they fkd up" thread. So to that, I say, hahaha to the Pats* for being so far "off" on their evaluation of Mallet. It's funny, the glass is either half full or half empty, but it's still the same glass with the same amount at the end of the day. I prefer my glass half full, I still have half a glass left, as opposed to, I only have half a glass left. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you know what they say about opinions.

Political and religious arguments are never really resolved.

The EJ argument will mostly likely be resolved in the next 12-24 months.

    So no........it's not like that.

Unless you think the jury is still out on Trent?

Actually it is a lot like politics and religion,at least at the current moment. It will continue to be a pointless argument until EJ answers the question for us, as you say, in 12-24 months.

  8. For years we had joint practices with the Browns in an era when the CBA didn't prevent pads, hitting, or more than four days of consecutive practice. Suck it up, Fred. These joint practices will be tea and biscuit time compared to the past.

    GO BILLS!!!

In retrospect though, since Fred J. wasn't around for the past, he doesn't have the past to compare to today's NFL. therefore as stated before, he is more than likely speaking the general sentiment of the locker room. In turn, setting a good example as a leader.

    No doubt this will happen.

Also with the other new rule no doubt some ref will hear an opponent of the Patsies call Ben Vereen a n*****r or Tom Brady a F*g and draw a flag extending the drive. This one is taylor made for helping the Patsies and Broncos and SeaHawks.

It seems as though your giving this "credit of penalties" because Denver and Seattle were in the Superbowl, therefore by default they are allotted drive extending penalties. The *Patriots, because of the general displeasure for them. Does one think that the league is really that one dimensional? If that were the case the NFL would run themselves right out of business. It's the suspense and anticipation that keeps fans coming back for more. "Your team" is on the verge of success, and the NFL will make it suspenseful, regardless of who it swings favoritism to. In other words, we all get our breaks with the refs. Well, that's my opinion anyway.

Hence it was nice to hear the game analyst mention how Tuel was about to throw the deep sideline, saw it wasn't there, pulled it down and threw to his 2nd or 3rd option for a a 1st down. EJ just stands back and throws. Doesn't matter if the guy is covered well or not.

Most on this board clamor for EJ to take a chance and throw it down the field and let his receivers make a play. He does it, now everybody chastises him for doing it. Not specifically pointing at your post, just my general opinion of the board.

  11.

This! There's been a few since 1992, but close to none since 1999. I guess you could argue the road win against the Seahawks in 2004 and Redskins in 2007 as there was still a chance they could make the playoffs, but other then that those other games were pretty meaningless. Schopp has a point, he's just off on the years. I would be pretty surprised if the Bills beat the Bears on opening day and if they did it would tell me the Bears are in for a bad to average season and not necessarily that the Bills are a good team just because of this teams recent history of being a below average football franchise.

So what you're saying is if the Bills win, it won't be because they earned it and won it through good play, but rather because the Bears played a bad game and gave us the win?

IMO, every victory will be earned. This is a talented group, there's no reason they shouldn't be winning games. I believe this is the year they turn it around. It's about to be the start a long run of greatness.

  12. Guys, I've been out of the loop on vacation for awhile and haven't heard much about Cordy Glenn. Not sure how anyone can make predictions without knowing his status. Do you guys know something I don't?

Not sure about everybody else, but I use my daughters trusty magic 8 ball (no, not that kind of 8 ball) to provide me with all these answers of which I seek.

  13. I like the post, if for no other reason than the optimism. I feel we need more of that right now.

My sentiment as well. I think this is the year the Bills make the turn. This team is young, talented, and they have confidence. Momentum will grow quickly and so will their skills.

  14. I did not see this posted anywhere, so I wanted to gauge your opinion on Joe's list...

    http://www.wgr550.co....php?pid=415417

    Bills Top 20 Talents:

    20) TE Scott Chandler

    19) CB Leodis McKelvin

    18) QB EJ Manuel

    17) DE Manny Lawson

    16) LB Brandon Spikes

    15) WR Mike Williams

    14) CB Nickell Robey

    13) C Eric Wood

    12) HB Fred Jackson

    11) DE Jerry Hughes

    10) CB Stephon Gilmore

    9) WR Robert Woods

    8) S Aaron Williams

    7) LT Cordy Glenn

    6) DE Mario Williams

    5) LB Kiko Alonso

    4) DT Kyle Williams

    3) HB C.J. Spiller

    2) WR Sammy Watkins

    1) DT Marcell Dareus

So, what do you all think about this list?

I personally cannot wrap my head around Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus being better "talents" than Mario Williams.

I also cannot understand why he would put Nickell Robey ahead of Leodis McKelvin, again, as a better "talent."

Other than that, I think it's alright...what do you all think about it?

It wasn't just based off of their talent levels. It was also based off of their future worth to the team. That's why Watkins came in at #2 without ever having played a down...

  15. I feel Robey was the better player

    1) His play on field was more consistent.

    2) His future projected worth is so much more.

If he continues with the success, he will develop into a stud slot corner. He has shown this after 1 year, as opposed to McKelvin who took 5 (as stated in others posts above). I am not taking anything away from McKelvin, just feel that performance plus projected worth goes to Robey.
