Really disappointed in the Edmunds news, not a good move from a simple financial options play.  Beane does a lot of things right, but contracts is not his strongest suite.  He has consistently over spent on mediocre talent, hope he gets better about it in the future.

You're way off....23 years old and two ProBowls. Thankfully you are just trolling from your Mom's basement

There are tons of good players available.  I just looked at a list.  There are about a dozen or more that were mocked in rounds 4-7.  https://www.pff.com/news/draft-ranking-100-best-available-2021-nfl-draft-prospects-tracker

Rignt, but with the strength of this roster, there arent many opportunities. Beane acknowledged how tough it is to recruit UDFA if their agent is trying to find a roster they have a shot at making.

When I heard that the Bills drafted two Swing Tackles with their 3rd and 5th round picks, I was a little disappointed. It seemed like Center/Guard should have been at least one of the picks.

I assumed, of course, that these guys were both future tackles because they’re 6’8” and 6’9” and tall players don’t typically make for great guards/centers. They get out-leveraged and clog throwing lanes.

But then, I stumbled across an interesting fact....

Mitch Morse is the tallest Center in the league at 6’6”

Ike Boettger is the tallest Guard in the league at 6’6”

Maybe... Josh’s height and playing style allows Spencer Brown and Tommy Doyle to ultimately kick inside? Perhaps that’s wishful thinking, but certainly worth mentioning.

I think we need to look at the DEs specifically

    Hughes

    Addison

    Epenesa

    Johnson

    Obada

    Rousseau

Beane has kept 5 DEs before so I think Beane does it again. I think it will come down to Johnson versus Obada unless Addison is cut for cap savings but I am not sure of the impact that would have.

I'm thinking Addison ( and Harrison Phillips?) is on the bubble. Johnson is a key special- teamer. So possibly Hughes,Epenesa, Johnson ,Obada, Basham and Rousseau make it.

If the Draft fell in a way that we get say:

    RD1 - Jaelen Phillips/Gregory Rousseau/Jason Oweh

    RD2 - Eric Stokes/Tyson Campbell/Asante Samuel/Ifeatu Melifonwu

    RD3 - Bobby Brown/Tyler Shelvin/Alim McNeil/Tedarrel Slaton

I don't think that it's that out of the realm of possibilities to think this Defense could be absolutely filthy next year.

Etienne is easily the biggest upgrade we could add on Offense, and he immediately provides us with a 2nd option when someone goes all out against our QB/WR passing attack.

I also like DE but have concerns over the 3 you mentioned. I might flip-flop and go CB (Stokes or Samuel) at 30. Then maybe Tryon ,Ossai,in 2nd if they last.

I think we’ve been depressed by our own mock drafts with who might be available at the Bills’ picks.  Just heard Gil Brandt claim that players picked in this year’s 4th round would have been roughly 6th round picks in the 2020 draft.  That certainly fits my perception.

    Thoughts and counter arguments?

First of all,you have it backwards.  What he actually said was "“This year, a pick you’d get in the fourth round might be the quality of a sixth-round pick NEXT year.”  He was referring to the uncertainty of drafting so many players who didn't play in 2020,due to Covid, opt outs.  What if he is wrong? Maybe some of these guys benefit, recovering from injuries? And,he's like 90 so I'm not sure how sharp he is.
