If it does end up bigger I would add Ryan Bates and Darryl Johnson, both young and not much $.   Morse as our primary Center concerns me with his age/injury history and concussions, one thing Bates has O Line versatility.  I always liked the upside to Daryl Johnson, was very "raw" coming it of North Carolina A&T  but has great length.

We are going to loose a good or potentially good D Lineman this year.

    Bates IS on this roster

Looks like Hunters playing good soldier and reporting but seems like he still is nome to happy with his contract or the way the teams handling it.  Do we see him get moved?  Does Beane and thst team have solid chemistry to revisit the trade block together? It's across conference, and both teams made out well in the Diggs deal.  Would like to think Beanes got a close eye on him. Maybe some picks and someone like Hughes or Epenesa so they're getting a player back as well and to help open up a spot for him.

"We just drafted 2 de's". Yes we did, but it's no secret we love our rotation PLUSSSSS the guys we drafted can line up at any position on that line. Seems like Boogie especially thrived on the inside line. Would really transform this line into something monstrous against Mahomes like we saw in the SB

AND signed Obada AND reworked Addison

It is a long season (and even longer this time round with 17 games). There will be enough balls for both Hollister and Gentry. There will even be enough balls for a certain Duke Williams.

I havent seen anyone mention The Duke in several weeks.

I don't think Duke OR Gentry nake this team. Bills have to resolve the special teams/ return game and neither is known as a ST standout .

Maybe they always planned to do the deal in June once they created cap space. This is probably the most likely scenario. I mean Ertz started following Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen . I'm guessing this has been done for a while.

I think Sweeney is going to Philly as part of the trade as well.

I would try to keep Sweeney. Ertz will likely only be in Buffalo for a year

ya think? anyone who spends 5 min on this board could have told JA that.

Beane pretty much said it after the KC playoff  game that no team needed a game plan to stop Bills' tight ends. And Hollister doesnt really move the needle as of now.

With Kyle Pitts joining the Falcons, I think Hayden Hurst, more than Zach Ertz, might be in play for the Bills.

I like the Hurst idea....cheaper....younger...but neither he nor Ertz is a great blocker

Cardinals could face Chandler Jones holdout with no contract extension (usatoday.com)

Chandler Jones, 31 (one year younger than Julio), has yet to show up at an offseason practice (like Julio), despite living year-round near the facility. This is a team leader who has done nothing but represent the team with class on and off the field, and someone who could be held up as an example to others. Yet he is a no-show. Oh, and he deleted every reference to the Cardinals from his social media, a telltale indicator if there ever was one. And he hasn't put anything back.

    https://cardswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/26/chandler-jones-contract-extension-holdout-possibility/

Jones is a monster..  wonder if Jerry and a first would pry him loose from AZ

Take on his 15 million dollar salary? Even if they buy into your fantasy and agree to take Hughes:it would use up almost all of Buffalo's available cap space. That would mean no Ertz, or  Nelson/ Breeland. After signing Obada, then drafting Basham and Rousseau: no thanks.

Chiefs are building the interior OL and DL. Bills have not improved these areas. Not good.

They're hoping development is the improvement. I just don't see it happening.

The return of Lotulelei and Ford should help up-front . They signed 3 veteran free agents for the OL and brought in 3 rookies. Defensively, they added Obada,Rousseau and Basham. Not all "interior" but Bills did address both lines.

    7. Buffalo Bills (7.0)

QB: Josh Allen RB: Zack Moss WR: Stefon Diggs

I would not have considered Allen "below average" 2nd year.  He had highs and he had lows which is why we made playoffs against Texans.

Dude...much as most of us love Josh, his stats  were awful his 2nd year. Improved his comp% to 58.8 and was still absolutely last among starting  QBs. Check his QB ratings and other stats, and yes,he was below average. His running ability was a dangerous weapon but as a passer,  he was bad.

I have high hopes for him. I can see him developing into a reliable #2.

Bills have Knox and Hollister.  Gilliam is theoretically a tight end but primarily a special teamer.  I think Sweeney could have tough time making the 53.

Rumor is he is going to Philly for Zack Ertz

It is  a proposal by a writer. That doesn't make it a "rumor". He doesn't say either team proposed the deal,HE proposed it.

We say that now, but I’m willing to bet people change there minds after another off season where he actually gets to play in games this year. I understand that Taiwan Jones is a special teamer, but that’s literally all he does. It’s a waste of a roster spot. If Christian Wade has truly worked on being a better blocker, understanding assignments, then he should make the roster this year. He has incredible instincts that we are lacking on this team. Wade finds the end zone.

Its his third and final shot and he just turned 30. For him to make the 53,Bills would have  to cut or trade TWO  of Singletary, Moss ,Breida, Jones, Williams. Which two do you realistically think he can beat out? Don't think he can yake return reps from McKenzie,Powell,Stevenson ,Breida or whomever.

I didn’t real realize he had another year. What if he absolutely blows up preseason again? What would it take for you to believe he is worth a spot over Moss or Singletary? Would you be open to trading Moss or Singletary?

Maybe I’m the only one that sees it, but I think Wade is a better runner than Singletary or Moss.

The Bills must have some plan for Wade, they must see that he is such a fantastic runner who can rip off major chunks of yardage. Why would they continuously place him on the PS if they didn’t think he had some viable path for the future? I fail to see what Moss provides that Wade can’t do other than swallowing the pride of using a draft pick on Moss.

He didn't "absolutely blow up preseason". Meaningless touches in meaningless games.  The coaches see him EVERY DAY and know how to evaluate players. I want the Bills to win the Super Bowl whether Wade plays or not. THAT is the mission.

  12. This is another fanboy fantasy. Its a feel good story, and all... but I have outgrown the hero worship and want what is best for the team. Wade's STORY won't win games. I don't see him as an integral part of the 53 man roster. He just turned 30,haven't read anything about him learning kick return or coverage roles so it appears he has to beat out a couple backs that have proven themselves. If the Bills can afford to manipulate the roster when they clinch the playoffs, maybe he has a shot to play a little, since his IPP exemption will expire.

I am old enough to remember when fans impressed by Fred Jackson's performance in preseason were dismissed as silly.

So,you should be old enough to remember that Fred grew up playing football, not rugby. By the time he got to Bills camp he had already played 3 years in Europe. He was an experienced football player, not an "athete" attempting  to learn a new sport in his late 20s.

Singletary,Moss and Williams are only 23. Wade just turned 30 and has zero NFL experience . Why would you cut one of those young backs to accommodate your feel good, warm & fuzzy fantasy? Why are are you so pumped for this guy? It's all about building and sustaining a winning roster.
