  1. Not a big fan. Living in LSU territory you get to see quite a bit of all of these SEC guys. Mingo is a freakish athlete that lacks production. He is not good against the run, only has one move and cant shed blockers. I am not going to call him the "M" word but everytime I see the guy play that is all I can think about.

    1st Maybin comparison in 5...4...3...2...1... ;)

I hate to be that guy but he reminds me exactly of him.

  2. After reading the Kiper Mock Thread it got me thinking about a draft that people would hate. I am not talking about something ridiculous like a punter in the 1st round but guys that just do not make sense (kind of like Whitner when Ngata was on the board). I guess that I will take a shot:

    1st - Jonathan Cooper

    2nd - John Jenkins

    3rd - Mike Glennon

I hate the idea of a guard in the top 10, I think that DT is not a need at all (especially with Branch signing) and I just do not like Glennon as a prospect. I like his arm but not much else appeals to me. I would hate the above draft.

I only went 3 rounds because I think that it is really difficult to hate a 6th round pick before they play a game. You can always use 20/20 hindsight on mid-late round picks but at the time you are filling holes.

    yours???

  3. He is terrible. Drops everything thrown to him. I would not want him on the Bills.

Not saying that he is the greatest WR in football but who is going to line up there? As far as I am concerned the Bills still need AT LEAST 2 (maybe 3) NFL caliber WR. As far as I am concerned they have 1 at the moment. I liked Nelson but he was hurt and I thought that Donald Jones was terrible. I think that I could have covered that guy. I had no problem with getting rid of those guys but I do have a problem with not replacing them. I think that the majority of the people that you could replace them with would be considered an upgrade.

  4. A guard at 8 would be a mistake period. If you look around the league there are really good guards that have come in the mid to late rounds as well as undrafted. It just is not that difficult of a position to fill (even this front office has had a good amount of success in finding guys). There are other positions that you cannot say the same thing about. When was the last time that you saw a really solid street free agent rush the passer? Play QB or CB (Jabari Greer is the only exception that I can think of)? I am advocating that you do not draft guard because there are other needs that are harder to fill later.

  5. I absolutely love the draft and always get nervous as a Bills pick approaches. I may be in the minority but I liked Saturday-Sunday better. I would get up, have some buddies over, drink beer, eat pizza and talk football. How many days are better than that?

  6. Sabres. They're at the start of their tear down before rebuilding process. I think they are farther away from turning things around as it seems that it usually takes longer in the NHL. The Bills just need to find a QB, the rest will take care of itself.

This is pretty much spot on. The Sabres were mistaken into thinking that they were contenders and are about to tear it down and start over. The BIlls are in the middle of trying to put it back together.

  9. I just do not get the love affair this board has with Patterson. Spending the #8 pick on a one year wonder is worse than spending the #11 pick on a one year wonder(Maybin). The guy wasn't even consistent in his one year of "greatness". And before people bring up his juco stats, remember that was JUCO!

Would you be okay with Ziggy Ansah? He is the definition of a 1 year wonder and will most likely be gone by 8.

I can only speak for myself. I like Patterson and would be happy with the pick. Do I like him like AJ Green coming out -no. I just think that WR is a HUGE need and the opportunity to take the top WR in the draft is appealing.

Not to mention outside of AJ Jenkins the majority of WR to go early lately have turned into good players. The college passing game has gotten so much closer to the pro game that guys are coming out more prepared and there are fewer busts.

  10.

WR is just as big of a need for this tem as LB is

And realistically speaking Stevie isn't a real # 1 but would be a great compliment to a true top WR

When you think about there being 32 teams in the league I believe that he is one of the 20 best WR in football. That makes me think that Stevie is a true #1. Look at the guys that have played around him - Donald Jones?!? Teams must constantly be rolling coverage to him. With that being said, I would love to see what type of player he could become playing amongst other threats whether it be WR or TE that can get up the seam. I am with you that WR and LB are the biggest need on this team (without getting into the QB conversation).

  11. I think if the Bills thought a #2 WR was a need, they would have addressed it in FA. Plus, I don't think 2 #1 WRs is needed. Most playoff teams, especially the ones who go deep, while solid at both WR positions, don't have 2 #1s.

What we do need, perhaps more than any position (excluding QB) are LBs. Second need would be CB.

If Geno/Barkley is gone by 8, take a LB or trade up, then try to trade back into 1st to take a QB later.

I disagree, the best teams have multiple receiving threats:

    ATL- Jones, White, Gonzalez

    Denver - Decker, Thomas, Welker

SF- Davis, Crabtree and they thought that they needed another so they used a 1 last year and signed Boldin

    NE- Gronk, Hernandez, Amendola

Bal- Smith and the two TEs

The Bills have 1 receiving threat and an average TE coming off of major surgery. It's a huge need

  12. Whis to say we dont go WR first 2 picks! Patterson then woods!

I think that is certainly less crazy than QB with the 1st two picks. At least they can both play at the same time. As far as I am concerned the Bills have 1 WR and a TE coming off of major surgery. Someone has to catch the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills drafted 2 WR and a TE. I am guessing a WR early (1 or 2) and then a mid to late round guy but I wouldn't be shocked if 2 of their first 4 picks were on WR.

  13. See to me Cordello Patterson might make the most sense out of all the choices.....

    Big

    Freakish agility and speed

You put a guy like that on the other side from Stevie and man o man.........

It is obviously a position of need (not even sure who they plan on there now). I am with you that I think that Patterson will be the pick. I am good with that.
