  1. As I’ve said I find it hard to believe that if they did stall, that it was to protect the sdsu football team because they were having a good season. This isn’t Columbus or Tuscaloosa. And even those police depts wouldn’t do that.
  2. He hasn’t been named in a criminal lawsuit. Only a civil lawsuit. He could be end up being one of the players charged by the DA. But it’s not up to them to clear his name. The Bills as of now believe that he’s not involved with the rape. So I don’t think suspending/inactive makes sense but for optics. Maybe they do go that route. We will see. As of now he’s expected to play tonight.
  3. I see it as the opposite. The twitter lawyer is making his side look less credible with his approach. Araiza’s lawyer has gone on record on video and asserted his side. It’s an ongoing criminal investigation as well. How else would you like Matt to fight back at this point? All we have are the civil lawsuit, the twitter lawyer tweets, Matt’s side via his attorney, and the team statement.
  4. His lawyer asserts that he has witnesses that say she was not obviously drunk
  5. Araiza attorney said he had witnesses who claim she told them she went to Grossmont college
  6. He’s specifically singling out araiza only as well… when he’s not the only one named
  7. Can you link to this or where did you read it? Seems weird that they (or anyone) would care about SDSU football. Not trying to be snarky. Just wondering where this is written so I can read the context.
  8. She said she told them that she went to Grossmont (period). There is both a Grossmont college and Grossmont HS. Ariaza’s lawyer said he has witnesses who say she told them she went to Grossmont college.
  9. His stuff is so bizarre. He posts text messages without context
  10. There was an Ohio state player falsely accused of sexual harrassment by his tutor. Ruined his football career. She was mad he didn’t want to date her. It’s not a big name, but he was a highly ranked recruit who had a lot of potential but removed from the team while they did the title IX investigation and set him back so far he never recovered even though he wasn’t guilty of it. This happens a lot actually where women accuse football players of things which is why they need to be extremely careful if where they go, what they do and who they trust. Regardless of what matt did or didn’t do here within the accusations, he clearly put himself in a very bad situation.

  12. Yes it’s what happened. It was reported by wawrow. They learned of the pending civil lawsuit on 7/30
  13. Attorney is saying that he has witnesses who are claiming she told everyone she went to a specific college
  14. Sort of, but they may have new information now
  15. It’s not the Bills MO to move on from. Player before letting facts play out. He’s denying that he did this. Two other situations I recall where they let accusations play out are lesean McCoy and Tyrell Dodson. Did not move on from either one.
  16. https://twitter.com/josinaanderson/status/1563133735670755330?s=21&t=G0T0anlcnmsRgq1XFqb7mw @josinaanderson LA Times: #Bills P Matt Araiza’s lawyer, Kerry Armstrong, called the rape accusation false. He said his investigator spoke to witnesses from the party who contradict the allegations against Araiza. “It’s a shakedown because he’s now with the Buffalo Bills,” Armstrong said.
  17. That’s actually not true. It has be performance/ability related to be cut (remember the whole vaccine thing last year?). At this point it would be tough to prove that he’s being cut for those reasons after cutting Haack already. Sure they could cut him if he did something off the field. But as it stands right now The nflpa and his agent would fight it since he’s only been accused in a civil lawsuit at this point. I don’t believe he can go on the exempt list per the CBA as that’s related to the personal conduct policy and this occurred in college.
  18. It is true. CBA was updated in 2020
  19. They didn’t know prior to drafting him. They found out on 7/30 that a civil lawsuit was coming and what it was about. They’ve been kept up to speed by araizas attorney. But the lawsuit was just filed yesterday so not sure how much of the details they knew already through the attorney before yesterday.
  20. Wtf between these lawyers and the ones involved with Deshaun I’m stunned at the idiocy - are we really posting text messages publicly? Tbh I’m sure as hell not losing sleep over a rookie punter but this whole thing is bizarre -
  21. Current thought process- - the bills didn’t know at time of draft - they learned of the pending civil lawsuit 7/30 - they cut Haack this week because per McDermott it was “time to go down to one punter” but said araiza still needed to earn the spot - they knew they didn’t want Haack regardless - they believe he’s innocent based on the info they have but also reserve the right to cut him as more comes out and will sign someone else if needed. But they knew for sure they didn’t want Haack
