1. "That sound you hear emanating from Buffalo was the J.P. Losman era officially reaching a crisis point. Can anybody be enjoying that rapid development more than Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe? Kelly Holcomb, it's your job to lose."

I'm not saying I agree with his statement I just posted it........what do you think?

Let's see how much DB "enjoys" playing the Eagles this week. :)

  2. He just restructured his deal this year. I blieve his 2005 salary was due to be about 7-8 million range and the Bills gave him a 7 million bonus when they restructued.

If we cut Moulds next year we'll be taking about a 6 million cap hit for 2006.

But is he still under contract until 2007? I wasn't posting it so much for his future salaries, just the number of years he is still under contract for.

  3. The Bills hugely overpaid for Vincent. They purchased a cb in his twilight, and he has no business playing safety.

Won't get any disagreement here. Once again, just because you have a bunch of "NAME PLAYERS" that look great on paper, doesn't mean they are going to be great on the field.

  4. I counted out loud a few times after the snap and Sunday and could not count the times I barely finished "two-one thousand" before someone was through the line. How can any QB bring an exciting football when he has no OLine to protect him and he has no time for plays to even develop?

    463388

That's where I thought JP would bring an extra weapon to the offense, by using his feet to scramble around and make a play versus our former QB who had no other option but to be sacked when the pass protection broke down.

  5. I believe he's in the last year of a 5 yr. contract.  If that's the case, he's catching passes from Donavan McNabb next season.

Actually, he is under contract through 2007 per nflpa.org...

  6. Ya know, this is a familiar refrain.  Why are we always begging for coaches to run the friggin ball.  First it was Killdrive, now friggin Clements.  I wish w'd re-hire Joe Pendry, at least he believed in running the ball.  At all levels of football, the team that runs the best, usually wins.  This is not rocket science.  They want to prove how friggin smart they think they are.  Awful.

    463208

The big difference here is that Clements is being completely ignorant of the fact that the QB under center is a 2nd year QB, with three games under his belt and clearly struggling with the passing game.

  7. Name 1 experienced QB that could win consistently with this offense, or with a defense that can't stop anyone.  There are none.  So, why throw any of the blame on a first year QB?  So what can JP do to help the defense?

    463205

I didn't say anything about winning or losing. My comment was on JP's play as the Bills starting QB through he first quarter of this season.. Go back and re-read my post.

  8. Does anybody think that when TD drafted players such as Losman, Reed, Evans and Parrish, increased ticket sales entered into his thinking to any large degree?

After all, these guys are more exciting than a solid Guard.

I am very curious as to what you guys think about this.

Who knows what is going on behind closed doors at OBD, but this certainly is a believable scenario. Add to it a coach with an offensive background, whose head is spinning with gadget plays and in general a passing attack and all of a sudden you find yourself enarored with the skill positions.

  9. I've said it before...just because the D has a bunch of name players on it(Spikes, Fletcher, Milloy, Vincent, Clements, Adams, Schobel, etc...) doesn't mean they are great. This is a slightly below average to slightly above average unit, depending on who they are playing(they like to beat up on the sisters of the poor), that has to rely on blitzing WAY TOO MUCH. Without a pass rush the Bills defense is doomed and without blitzing, there is a rarely a pass rush.

  10. Was I glad the Bills turned the page on DB and gave the reigns to JP?...absolutely. Did I think that JP was going to have his share of ups and downs?...yes, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. The biggest disappointment to date from my point of view is that I believed even in his first few games, that JP would bring an EXCITING brand of football to the table. If anything, these first four weeks, have been as much torture as most games of the DB era. I thought that with a year under his belt, that JP would be much more polished than what he has shown.

One thing that the announcers mentioned yesterday, that I agree 100% with, is that JP has to realize that the defenders he was able to run away from in college, are a lot faster in the pros. Also, hopefully the overthrows and the pass blocking will get better as the season goes by.

Clements isn't helping at all. It's one thing to be enamored with a passing game when you have an experienced vet QB, but it's like he is completely oblivious to the fact that there is a QB under center with a whole 3 games under his belt. I also don't like the setup of Clements on the sidelines and Wyche in the booth. I think it should be just the opposite. Wyche down on the field to review the previous series with Losman and Clement up in the booth, where he has a better perspective of the game.

PS On a personal note, Clements has that smug look on his face that makes you want to punch him.

  11. Actually Lundquist is the guy that made me make this post.  Afer listening to him on Saturday....I was thinking to myself, how much better are these college football tandems over their NFL counterparts.  The other college football guys you have named are all good.

    IMO, it's no comparison.

    463043

I believe Verne used to do NFL games...and based on the perception here that all media and announcers SUCK, I'm sure he got grilled here.

  12. Did anyone notice the length of time that Brooks was getting???? He could have signed autographs back there waiting for a receiver to get open. The difference in pass blocking between these two teams was absolutely shocking. It's time Malarkey made some major changes to this O line. Do something because I'm tired of watching a prison break every time we drop back to pass the ball.

    462667

Maybe the difference isn't the quality of OL blocking. Could it be that the Bills can't generate a pass rush without the assistance of a blitzing LB, CB or FS? I'm sorry but the high motor DE's the Bills have(including one who is being paid 25 million), rarely seem to come up with the big sack at a crucial point in the game.
