  1. Can someone help me out here on WR numbers?

Back in the 60s, WRs wore low numbers. Lance Alworth was 19. Bob Hayes was 22. Then in the 70s it went to all 80s numbers for WRs. Then it seems a few years ago a lot (almost all) went to QB numbers (teens). Was there a rule change? If so, when?

    QB, K, P: 1-19

    RB, CB, S: 20-49

    WR: 10-19 and 80-89

    TE: 40-49 and 80-89

OLine: 60-79 (50-59 is also legal but rare)

    DLine: 50-79 and 90-99

    LB: 50-59 and 90-99

  2.

17 would look right--- that's my preference. Realistically, I'd like him to not pick a number with a strong previous association, but that's difficult: no 14, 13 or 83 at the very least.

Yea I'm definitely thinking 17 after seeing that. I think he would've went 12 if it weren't retired.

    Appreciate the info SBUffalo

No problem. Always like to know what numbers we'll see on the field!

  3. Watkins will be 13 id guess. Rubbing salt in Stevie's wounds

This would annoy me on multiple levels. I don't like 13 that much for WRs and Stevie was unbelievably loyal to the city. Let the number rest for a year.

I'm hoping Watkins goes with 17. Kaufman is moving to TE so he'll have to change numbers.

  4. Sammy Watkins, WR - 14

    1st round, 4th pick on 2014. Wore 7 and 2 previously (7x2=14). Born June 14th.

    Cyrus Kouandjio, OT - 71

    Wore 71 at Alabama.

    Preston Brown, LB - 52

    Wore 2 at Louisville.

    Ross Cockrell, CB - 29

    Wore 6 at Duke.

    Cyril Richardson, OG - 68

    Wore 68 at Baylor.

    Randell Johnson, LB - 93

    Wore 15 at FIU.

    Seantrel Henderson, OT - 66

    Wore 77 at Miami.

    Bryce Brown, RB (non-rookie) - 35

Wore 34 in Philly, 5 in high school among others.

  5. but Obama had no reason to make any comment about the NFL draft and society has no business caring who Michael Sam chooses to have relations with.

This is such a lame and lazy way to view things. It's a weak attempt at being "tolerant."

It gets said a lot. The person saying it either believes, or wants those reading it to believe, that they actually support equality for gays, but you don't. It's not that supporters care that he's gay, it's that we know it's important. The people caring about his sexuality are those who are against him. The others who care about the situation care about the significance of this moment. It's a huge moment, no doubt.

  6. There could be a lot of logical reshuffling of divisions if the NFL really wanted to.

Just a quick and drastic restructure without much thought:

AFC North: Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore

AFC East: New England, New York, Miami, Jacksonville

AFC West: Kansas City, Denver, Arizona, Houston

AFC South: St. Louis, Cininnati, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay

NFC North: Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago

NFC East: New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Dallas

NFC West: Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, San Diego

NFC South: Atlanta, New Orleans, Carolina, Tennessee

  7. I'm hoping for Kouandjio or Moses. If not them then Ealy or Crichton. Next two picks should be OT/DE in either order.

List based on what is left:

    1. Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama

    2. Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

    3. Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri

    4. Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State

    5. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington

  8. I'm talking about a pick that isn't really on the radar (in any round) that would piss everybody off, maybe even you, but would make you less mad than everybody else.

For me it would be Kyle Fuller at nine. He is the best corner in this draft and, if he stays healthy, he'll be a superstar corner in the NFL. I would be disappointed but willing to talk others off the ledge since I believe it'd be a value pick instead of a big need.

  9. If he is valued as much as the hype from the Ohio State game then it would make sense for Houston to take him as they run a 3-4, and he is perfect in that environment. With us going with Schwartz, and back primarily to a 4-3, it doesn't make sense for Buffalo to move up for him, but it does for Clowney.

Personally, I'd love Clowney in our defense.

I agree with everything except the indication that he doesn't fit a 4-3. He can play four positions in a 4-3. He'd be a great 4-3 SAM.
